Fun fact: Because of the way the Japanese enunciate, all four renditions of the theme are pronounced the same way, making the names for every remix of For Faith some form of wordplay. The Japanese fuckin' _love_ wordplay.
Nah, no trick to it; they pronounce both "faith" and "face" very similarly to how we pronounce "face", because there's no "th" sound in their language, so it comes out similarly to an "s" sound, and because the tracks' names are in English, they wouldn't use their word for "four" either, so "for" and "four" would be pronounced the same as each other, too. The whole thing is undoubtedly intentional because of how well it all comes together. The Japanese are remarkably, subtly clever with this kind of thing.
I never expected the FINAL final boss to be played as Tanimura, but honestly it was fitting. And he was my favorite part of the game honestly, I'd love for him to return one day.
These badasses are gods! No, literally, each are based on one of the Four Gods of China: Kiryu - Seiryū (The Azure Dragon, representing Spring and Wood) Akiyama - Suzaku (The Vermillion Bird, representing Summer and Fire) Saejima - Byakko (The White Tiger, representing Autumn and Metal) Tanimura - Genbu (The Black Turtle, representing Winter and Water)
Tanimura's perfect for being the Black Tortoise due to his defensive style involving counters and calculated strikes. The part where he does submission holds really symbolizes the Snake part of the Black Tortoise. His jacket is like symbolism for his "shell"
+Swordswoman I went into this fight super unprepared, only had a couple Staminan XXs. I didn't think Tanimura's final boss was going to be that... fuck. 00:01 Suzaku of the Shippu (Akanami) 03: 51 The White Tiger of Shigeaki (Shiwa) 06: 07 Genbu of the Iron Wall (Green North) 09: 04 Legendary Blue Dragon (Blue Eastern) ...... Potential possibility of succeeding If you can suitably compare the four highs with the four large primary colors and the four sacred beasts that protect the east and west north and south, it is like this
You could be right since all four characters are symbolized as the four Chinese/Japanese Sacred Beasts, Kiryu being the Azure Dragon (Well Rounded in all areas), Saejima being the White Tiger (Greatest Strength), Akiyama being the Vermilion Bird (Greatest Speed), and Tanimura being the Black Tortoise (Greatest Defense). All I can say is though they all kick a whole lot of ass.
Not at all. In fact the devs did it designed these characters with them in mind. Kiryu - Dragon tattoo, strongest and wisest, the dragon is represented by the element "Wood" in fengshui (fitting that theres a "木" in his name.), the most potent symbol of protection. His heat color is blue (I know... everyone's heat is blue, but Kiryu started it.). The dragon is also a symbol of emperors (leader of the group). Akiyama - "Sky" Finance, his bird-based nickname in the coliseum, red jacket, high flying kicking style, an icon of success, respect, rebirth and endless possibilities (reflecting the nature behind his money lending business). Among the its Seven Mansions (Chinese constellations basically) is "Star" (Akiyama's theme "Speed Star"), "Maids In Waiting" (Hana and the Cabaret) and "Celestial Wolf" (for some reason, Wolf is part of his SSR title in Yakuza Online). Saejima - His name, tiger tattoo, Kiryu's equal, represented by the element "Metal" and regarded as a God of War (kinda in line with the unique ability to use Extra Heavy objects as weapons), symbolism varies but the common theme is "Power" and "Strength", his camo-patterned pants reflecting a tigers natural habitat. The Tiger's associated direction is "West" matching Saejima's Kansai origins. Tanimura - His thick coat, symbolizes long life, stability and support (reflecting him supporting the immigrant orphans), is known as a "Black Warrior" in East Asian Mythology which could be reflecting his "black"mailing of brothels. The black turtle shares the same name as the taoist god "Xuanwu" and revered by martial artists (Tanimura being the only guy with a martial arts background). Xuanwu is also worshipped in Thailand (Tanimura's half nationality). I could be stretching it with some of them but the similarities are there nonetheless.

I finished Yakuza 3 in 45 hours with almost everything complete, now I recently started Yakuza 4 and loving it to death, my question is, is it a longer game then part 3 was? I really hope it'l last me at least 60-100hrs. Now Yakuza 5 is coming out, March hopefully, CAN"T WAIT! :D
You've probably played it since it's been six fuckin years but my good god Yakuza 5 is a long game. My play through clocked in at like 160 hours, and that's without finishing all of the side content.
I finished all games with story, side stories, and substories completed: 3 with almost 60 hours, 4 with a little more than 40 (I didn't do Kiryu or Saejima's side story), and 5 with a bit more than 70. In comparison, 0 took me 100 hours (although I also did weapon upgrades and it was my first game so it took me longer to get a hang of it).
Two thumbs up, this game is amazingly environmental and has a soul. Something video games have been missing for many years :( Yakuza 3 is great as well, but 4 is just an improvement in all ways, especially combat
Woah i posted this 11 years ago, since then I've played yakuza 6, yakuza zero, kiwami 2, and got half my body tattooed with japanese style tattoos. Time flys!
I feel like the Yakuza 4 protagonists could all be mapped to different bending styles. Akiyama gets Air, Saejima gets Earth, Tanimura gets Water, and Kiryu's the Avatar, a native Firebender.
I think they are already based on different 4 legendary Gods. Akiyama as Vermilion Bird, Tanimura as Black Turtle, Saejima as White Tiger and Kiryu... simply as *Dragon*. Also, Ryuji Goda is the Yellow Dragon of the Center and how Kiryu able to beat them all, make a name for himself and rising to the top as A Legendary Dragon, proved that just by staying true to yourself, you can overcome any obstacles and that what it's *Like* to be *A Dragon*. Kiryu is just AWESOME (:
If we go by their godly counterparts: Akiyama would get fire; Tanimura would get earth; Saejima would get water; Kiryu would get air All things considered, it's better off to have these guys together rather than an all-controlling Avatar, they're much more dangerous as well
I’ve been listening to this song for about a year because it’s amazing, I started playing the Yakuza series when Yakuza 0 was added to xbox gamepass, i wasn’t expecting anything much but Yakuza 0 is one of my favorite games ever! After that I played Kiwami, Kiwami 2 and Like a Dragon and loved them also, then I was kinda sad because I couldn’t play the rest and would have to wait a while until i got a playstation. But thank goodness they ported the rest of the games to Xbox and PC! I loved 3, Mine and Fly, and the rest of the soundtrack/game was awesome. Over the last couple of days I’ve been playing tons of 4 and I’ve gotten to the finale, I’ve loved my journey with these 4 characters and can’t wait to play the finale and finally listen to this song while playing the finale and listening to it the way it was meant to be listened! I’m so excited, I’ve loved this song for like a year and soon I’ll actually be able to experience it like it’s meant to be! Let’s go!!!
Kiryu - Matt McMuscles. Akiyama - Angriest Pat Saejima - Woolie (especially with the green garb) Tanimura - Liam We didn't know what we really had until you guys were gone. Thanks for everything, Super Best Friends. I hope you guys find friendship again.
I played 0 when it came to Game Pass as a way to dip into the series, expecting it to kill a few minutes. I ended up getting hooked on the story and characters. Just finished 4 last night. I can't get enough.
The chorus is freaking epic! Its the part where piano comes in! OMFG. I was also sad at first that i had to play as other characters because no way they hold a candle to the dragon of dojima but the storyline was epic great it really absorb you into the characters even though its true no one can kick kiryu. LvL6 Kiryuu had to face off against tanimuralvl11 and kiryama lvl 14.( I really went out and explore with them) and still won easy. Didnt even visit komaki for the damage powerups.
Thai Corralo Vigo Nah, not yet. It's a guide a dude made that translates everything in the game to English. It's not a localization, but it will at least tell you what the hell you're doing. KHHSubs also translated all the cutscenes, but Sega pulls them off UA-cam. They're on Dailymotion, I think.
Sega does that !?!? I'm speechless . Dont they have enough denying us the chance of playing it, they even take away the vids ?? So I download that guide on paper and read along the playthrough ? Well not confortable but at least I'll be able to play it. Thanks 4 the info mate !! PS: Have you tried it already ? Is it as good as it seems ?
It's web pages, but I'm pretty sure you could make a PDF of it, if there isn't already. The cutscene guy has a channel on UA-cam: CaptainEpic3. He did a full guide for Ishin/Restoration, but no cutscenes yet. He did everything for Kenzan, though. Check those out! I have Y5, but haven't played it yet. Working on Ishin, which is itself tremendously fun. There's even "Battle Dungeon Mode," which is basically just "fight through a bunch of chumps in a procedurally generated dungeon, collect rare upgrade materials, then fight the mini-boss." I love that mode to death.
I can imagine Kiryu sitting at his Yakuza headquarters thinking. "Haruka hasn't called in a while... Should I check on her? Nah, what could POSSIBLY happen? I should probably read this taped together ransom note I just got... But I ALSO really want some bbq beef... hmm... I'll read it later."

Like at best usually games may offer something to explain what happened in a prior game, especially if the prior wasn't received well. When I saw 4 (as it was the game I was introduced to) and that movie I knew it was like okay, I need to go back and play these others.
Fun Fact: The Chief fighting with 20 men on his side against one Tanimura is a nod to the fact that the police dont understand the concept of honor

"The Tojo Clan is a heavy cross to bear, I'll show you just how heavy."
Kazuma Kiryu ex 4th chairman of the Tojo Clan
you see this!? this game seris right here?! THIS is how you make a story with good character development! may yakuza's legacy continue for a long time!
Yes, indeed.
@@runecrush376 LOL. Might have over exaggerated a bit, but still Yakuza is awesome!
@@spellgalen808 i agree, yakuza will be one of my favorite franchises ever..
@@spellgalen808 Wow 10 years. Do you love it even more than back then?
@@sheevpalps3846 Yes. I apriciate it even more as i grow older
I couldn't possibly figure out why but tanimura was my favourite. If I had to guess it was his unique fighting style. It was full of by-the-book ju-jitsu moves with a dash of goofy and effective. Playing as him for the final boss, even though said boss sucked, was a whole load of fun
My jam
Hands down still my favorite game track of all times.
i started with yakuza 3. now playing yakuza 4 and i'm almost at the end. fucking love this series! if heard rumors though that yakuza 5 ain't gonna be released outside japan. that would be my worst nightmare.
i wonder what this guy is doing now
@@supersoupy4709 Not much. Just living life 🙂
00:01 Suzaku of the Shippu (Akanami) 03: 51 The White Tiger of Shigeaki (Shiwa) 06: 07 Genbu of the Iron Wall (Green North) 09: 04 Legendary Blue Dragon (Blue Eastern) ...... Potential possibility of succeeding If you can suitably compare the four highs with the four large primary colors and the four sacred beasts that protect the east and west north and south, it is like this
detective character with blue jacket has FUNNEST fighting style he can PARRY attacks!!!!!!! ^.^
It really does dude! Really want to visit Japan after playing them all! I really hope Y5 gets released in UK/NA! Looks awesome as always
Seiryu-Kiryu
Suzaku-Akiyama
Byakko-Saejima
Genbu-Tanimura
Am I right with these comparisons?
Perfect. The Four Gods.
@@lackusshock the dragon in his back is more like the "unbettable dragon god" than a strong and wise person, he has a strong sense of justice but i wouldn't say he's wise
The 4 Gods in human form
I finished Yakuza 3 in 45 hours with almost everything complete, now I recently started Yakuza 4 and loving it to death, my question is, is it a longer game then part 3 was? I really hope it'l last me at least 60-100hrs.
Now Yakuza 5 is coming out, March hopefully, CAN"T WAIT! :D
You've probably played it since it's been six fuckin years but my good god Yakuza 5 is a long game. My play through clocked in at like 160 hours, and that's without finishing all of the side content.
Dalton S good god man what in the hell did you do the entire time??
Finished 4 a few hours ago, downloading 5 now :D
@@professortree9387 He probably played Mahjong or something
I finished all games with story, side stories, and substories completed: 3 with almost 60 hours, 4 with a little more than 40 (I didn't do Kiryu or Saejima's side story), and 5 with a bit more than 70. In comparison, 0 took me 100 hours (although I also did weapon upgrades and it was my first game so it took me longer to get a hang of it).
Two thumbs up, this game is amazingly environmental and has a soul. Something video games have been missing for many years :( Yakuza 3 is great as well, but 4 is just an improvement in all ways, especially combat
True
Woah i posted this 11 years ago, since then I've played yakuza 6, yakuza zero, kiwami 2, and got half my body tattooed with japanese style tattoos. Time flys!
I’m waiting for the remastered collection to come to Xbox, i love the Yakuza games I’ve played so far!
Have fun boi. 3 4 5 are the first yakuza games I played on the ps3. Love all of 'em
Dragon of Dojima i loved 3, I’m playing 4 at the moment and it’s great. They did a good job with the new protagonist.
@@Randompancakes12345 right? 6 released on xbox yesterday. Now you can complete the whole saga
6:08 - 9:00 - Tanimura's version has to be my favourite. :D

What a freaking masterpiece, sounds like Yuzo Koshiro's Streets of rage ost in 2011
谷村のラストバトルでこのイントロかかったとき相棒よぎった
Good To Know Some Games Still Have Stories Worth Playing, YAKUZA DEAD SOULS FTW!!
Blake Snowe Actually Kiryu is the Azure Dragon :)
If we go by their godly counterparts: Akiyama would get fire; Tanimura would get earth; Saejima would get water; Kiryu would get air
All things considered, it's better off to have these guys together rather than an all-controlling Avatar, they're much more dangerous as well
Kiryu also has some earth in him
@@ima4248 nah cus kiryu
Thank you Sega for the beautiful Remastered Collection
Let’s go!!!
Yakuza 5 here we go GUYS!! One of my favourite franchises of all time!

Akiyama - Angriest Pat
Saejima - Woolie (especially with the green garb)

And like liam, Tanimura left first
This game has a SOUL and who is waiting YAKUZA 5!!!!!!

Fucking badass music game and protagonists, AWESOME !!
BRING US Yakuza 5 at once SEGA !!
I just imported it. There's a translation guide. Just buy it off Play-Asia.
You mean I can play it in english somehow ? Is that possible ??
Thai Corralo Vigo
Nah, not yet.
For Yasuko...
来いやー!! 城戸ぉぉお!!
I STILL GOT THE GAME!! CAN'T WAIT TILL YAKUZA 5 COMES TO THE US!!
I can imagine Kiryu sitting at his Yakuza headquarters thinking. "Haruka hasn't called in a while... Should I check on her? Nah, what could POSSIBLY happen? I should probably read this taped together ransom note I just got... But I ALSO really want some bbq beef... hmm... I'll read it later."
for four face and faith
I have Kabukicho as my desktop background. Love Yakuza.
