24:11 DUDE THAT FLASH EFFECT SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME, I'M WATCHING THIS DURING A STORM AND THAT THING FLASHES MY ENTIRE SCREEN RIGHT WHEN I TURNED MY HEAD OVER TO THE WINDOW OMG
According to what you say at the end I can really see something like this for SBX events : - GBB for pure battling, like we know it nowadays. - SBX camp for originality, feels good with the goal of teach things to newcomers in high level, maybe with a showcase competition. Also I think this could be a test lab to experiment things for other types of competition. - Kickback battle for songwriting and composition, the great spaces of time between rounds allow contestants to prepare real songs to perform in a video. Well that's just some ideas I throw in the comments I really want to have your opinion on this.
The best part of this video for me was towards the end, when he suggested that there should be DIFFERENT events for muscality/songwriting and energy based performances. It is really difficult to judge 2 different genres of music. How are you supposed to judge between Dudz and B-Art? It depends on what the aim of the event is, and if the aim is energy, then musicality is left out and vice-versa. Hence it makes sense to differentiate the events based on type of beatboxing as beatboxers have developed increasingly unique styles. Big ups to you for another video which will go a long way in improving the beatbox scene as a whole.
I would like a video of you breaking down the categories of how one would judge, like what structure means. And what category the most weight when judging, etc.
It's quite simple.. I watch Dilip to make me go "WOW!!" I watch D-Low to make me go "YEAH!!" As an event holder I'd want my crowd screaming "YYYEEEEAAAHHHH !!!!
But two.h has some simple groove and flow, meanwhile dilip's wildcard has difficult flow or unclean flow I think he needs practice for flow and structure
I hate that we aren't getting a list from Madox, but it's honestly the right call. Others released their own top 8 and it just made people argue more. Good on you man!
Bro, love your analysis. Thank you for your honesty and trying to help improve the community. Appreciate your ideas to clear up the confusion for some of the competitions and how they’re judged.
Thank you Madox for this great video! making categories in beatbox in battles makes me think a lot about what happened to breakdance! In the beginning, the 'standing' style and the 'ground' style were together in battles, now we have "powermoves" "top rock / popping / locking etc etc" and also the all styles battles where the dancer does not choose the music to which he has to dance and improvise at best with his knowledge. It's very interesting to see how the beatbox and its community has grown so fast over the past few years, I love it so much! Why not “technical only battles”? "musicality only battles "? that would be nice to hear but it shouldn't be the main rule, could also be a random constraint imposed at the start of the battle? (Sing / inward bass / Fast Tech etc) that would be great to hear . I agree 100% that the judges must give clear guidelines so that the beatboxers can properly prepare their wildcards, much love ESH

Great message, video and what an exciting time to be part of this community and growth!
