I do often patronize the ads that creators are paid to put directly in their videos though, so it balances out.

You say it you're paying for a service you shouldn't have to see ads, but hasn't TV always been this way? You pay for cable, or satellite, or whatever, and you are forced to watch commercials.... the ability to record and fast forward through commercials is relatively new in the whole scheme of these, but paying for a service has not, historically, removed "ads."
That said, I do still hate ads.... or commercials... or whatever anyone wants to call them.
