Beautiful guitar, Steve! I have a few EGCs and a Travis Bean, and can attest to how wonderful they are. Aluminum fretboards are incredibly clear and when driven hard can sound like hell. It's like playing an angry tuning fork.

If I can suggest something, try to fit eventually a "Evertune bridge" because the tuning stability relative to thermal dilatation of the aluminium compared to string(it's about 3x more than steel or nickel). At 24.75 + stop tail piece distance + nut to tuners distance, with +20ºf(spot lights) the guitar scale will increase so your tuning will be sharper. With Evertune, nothing will shows. Nice guitar by the way!

If you get a chance maybe you can review my patented guitar fretboard invention.
Added vertical scallops to allow bends over edge of fretboard for new pitch modulation, infinite vibrato sustain and extra notes on pulloffs as FretCorner plucks the string. Steve Vai has bent off fretboard on Blue Powder, Kirk Hammett on the Masters solo, Flea has done it in bass etc I just evolved the style to all strings or partial.

What string gauge for C standard on aluminum ? Read all over the place that travis beans need larger gauge to avoid buzz etc
Really depends on the neck itself, how much relief was built into the frets, how deep the nut slots were cut, etc. 12-56 is a good place to start. Can go up to 13-62 if needed.

It is. The top is flat rather than arched.
my biggest gripe with aluminum guitars/necks is all the fingerprints that get left on it, just looks dirty to me id feel like i have to constantly clean them
We did the satin anodized body for that reason. The fingerprints on the fretboard always remind me of old played out maple boards, which I think looks pretty killer.
Way beyond my price point, but pretty cool
