This piece is majestic, like the coronation of a queen. Herb Alpert ruled in the 60’s, 70s, and some of the 80s. Amazing history for an artist.
In pop history, one of its greatest albums... is Rise

OMG!! DITTO! My father played all kinds of music. I have come to a DEEP appreciation for Music and the joy that it has brought me. Because of MY father and his love of music, I can now teach my daughter the same kind of musical appreciation! Surprisingly, She likes the music of an older generation. NOT that crap their turning out nowadays!! THANX, DAD!!

Bellísima canción. Desde que las escuchaba cuando estaba chico por que mis padres las ponían me causa un sentimiento especial poder escucharlas y recordar una niñez tan intensa y por demás feliz... Thanks Herp alpert

Cool jazz with just a hint of hot sauce in it. Always loved Rise.

Sounds more like funk/disco combined with a pop/latin melody played on a trumpet.

It isn't the first part of the song, 1980 and Rise are two separate pieces. But I agree that it evokes powerful emotions.

sorry for your loss :( yes little did you know the spirit he was instilling within your soul. Sometimes parents have a way of subconsciously guiding without realizing. In ways unintended, but later realized in life. Those are the best lessons of all.
I remember this album playing on the Sansui a lot...loud! my family dancing to it, together. laughing and happy...not a care in the world. feeling free. Amazing how the music takes you there...

Herb Alpert - Rise: Herb Alpert & his band are music legends among so many others. This is one composition that affects me in ways that stirs up many pleasurable memories in my life.
'OceansAndClouds,' I have to ask, are the pic. clips your personal shots of such incredible beauty or pics. you found? They appear most definitely taken by someone that loves California. I haven't seen pic.s like this...even in a National Geographic magazine. Incredibly beautiful to compliment this song. TY
