It's absurd when, as a Brit, you can fly to Hungary for a 3 day weekend, watch every F1 session and get better value for your money than attending one F1 session at Silverstone.
The absurdity is that Silverstone is charged, by Liberty, so much that they have no choice but to pass the cost on in ticket charges. Silverstone gets no government subsidy nor revenue from advertising so ticketing pays for it
I'm glad Max took the ball and threw it straight back into their court with their pathetic excuse as to why they haven't sold out. The organisers know exactly why they haven't sold out yet, but they won't bring themselves to admit it. Their greed has priced out many British fans who've realised that it's now cheaper to go to a GP like Hungary and spend 4 days in Budapest than it is to go to the British GP.
Max is right. There are people flying from the UK to go to F1 races in other counties like Spain and Hungary because it's cheaper than Silverstone. Even including accommodation and flights! Thought you were better than click bait thumbnails and titles Kym.
The reason it hasn’t sold out is because of their ridiculous pricing over the last two years! I’m in Spain this weekend which is cheaper as a package than a grand stand ticket at Silverstone!
Maybe people have just realized that you don't actually get much value for spending a lot of money on the "more affordable" seats. Watching the race at home with a few friends is a better experience for a fraction of the cost.
Exactly. In the past I would have said you must at least go once in a while to experience the insane sound. But that is history. The best way to watch a race nowadays is at home on TV.
If Silverstone has 'dynamic' pricing whats the issue? Why aren't these tickets selling for 100 pounds then? Because its dynamic only when up, so greed is the issue without question
Funny how they never complained when Lewis dominated year, after year, after year.......after year......after year!! Just like SkyF1 mails it in now and produces sub par commentary with a HEAVY bias to team Britain....sorry I mean Mercedes. I wish there was another broadcaster we could watch in Australia!
The problem of the high ticket prices lies, in my opinion, with Formula 1. Eccelstone charged the tracks quite a bit of money but Liberty are even greedier. Both Hockenheim and Nuerburgring stopped hosting F1 races for that particular reason as neither of them was willing to increase their ticket prices by vast amounts just to break even. And we mustn't forget that race racks are a business that has to make a profit. My son and U were at the Nuerburgring last year, 2023, and watched a truck race. The tickets were 20 Euros for the Sunday. Car parking was free of charge and so was the shuttle bus.
Max is right too. Stuart is trying to set a false narrative to save face. In the UK there is massive cost of living issues, people here have much less excess money to spend on leisure. Silverstone prices are now at a stupid price, so many now simply can't afford to go.
One day at Silverstone or a Holiday in the South of France. Bit of no brainer really. I'm in the South of France, looking forward to a day at the beech.

At least in Las Vegas you can return to your hotel/casino in thirty minutes or less and you have the entertainment capital of the world there. Excellent restaurants, entertainment at the same location. Just like Monaco. Only a more competitive track. (Also casinos will "comp" their best customers (gamblers) to these events so, for many attendees, the actual cost is much much less or even free.)

Max and Lewis are right. Silverstone ticket sales have been slower than expected because the grandstand pricing is more than many fans can afford. They are at US levels which does not fly in England. This season is competitive so blaming Red Bull and Max is absurd misdirection. If the promoter is having trouble selling out they should look in the mirror and see their GREED as the source of their problems. My wife and I are doing the Hungary/Spain doubleheader. Basically 2 GPs for the price of 1 in the USA where we are from.
Sat in the queue on first day for a ticket, their system crashed, and when I got back in the queue my ticket had gone up £100. Sod that, never going again. Well, not with these promoters.
This is all down to their prices! The prices have literally doubled compared to pre COVID prices. I loved going to Silverstone but I won't be going again.
So according to the British GP promoter : The British motorsport fans have no confidence in British drivers achieving anything. Food for thought : Ticket sales are organized by TicketMaster /Live Nation who are owned by Liberty Media.
TicketMaster /Live Nation is a racket. The US Department of Justice has just sued them after a two-year investigation into its domination and monopoly over the ticketing industry. Not sure that'll change anything though.
As a Brit, I’ve been embarrassed by silverstone for some years now. I can technically afford it, but once I’ve got two tickets because it’s no fun going by yourself, you’ve spent the best part of £2000 in tickets if you want 2/3 days. Then add accommodation and it’ll set you back the best part of £3000 total. Total trip, probably £3500. Not only could I go to Hungary, have a holiday and see every session for well under HALF that cost. I could fly to JAPAN and watch the race there for less than staying in my own country.
Live in the UK but i'm going to Austria because it was all around a better deal, and at least Austria can double as a holiday for even better value for money. Can't wait, I've been dreaming of going to a race for a long time!
F1 is certainly better watched on tv rather than the track nowadays. After 35 years of attending races in my home country and abroad, it hurts me to say it. F1 treats its fans like dirt.
I don’t think it’s just Red Bull dominance. I haven’t been for a few years but the last time I attended the British GP you could tell the majority were just there to see a sports event, their knowledge of f1 was very little. Secondly price, the tickets are eye watering expensive and I refuse to pay it now. Silverstone (and other venues) will keep doing this as long as people will pay. Lastly, choice. The WEC has grown massively in popularity in the last 12 months. The crowds at Spa and Le Mans have been massive, so people are realizing there are other options out there that in my view are also far more fan friendly too. I’m friends with some people who religiously follow f1 and will happily spend thousands every year attending races to support their driver which is fine.
Moto GP too, one of my relatives bought a VIP Moto GP ticket with a pit pass, paddock and grid access for a fraction of what it would cost to see an F1 race.
After Schumacher and Vettel, German interest in F1 dropped off so much much that there is no longer a German GP. There is no British F1 driver coming close to winning the championship for a couple of years now, so it is not surprising that interest in the UK has dropped off. Just like if there was a good US driver and/or team right now, US interest in F1 would shoot up even more. And our ticket prices would go up more...
Silverstone has always been one of the most expensive races but it's generally always sold out no matter what. Pricing is the reason it hasn't sold it and is why I'm priced out of ever going there. The dynamic pricing is yet another cancer on the entertainment industry that we in Britain have latched on to from America. Will be honest though, amazed that Mexico is one of the most expensive tickets.

Its dissapointing that its becoming just one of those channels. I hope this comment pops us in your analysis as I am sure i am not the only one who feels that way.
The British GP guy blaming the repetitiveness has clearly forgotten that Lando Norris is also a Brit with a clear chance of winning in Silverstone. Remember the crowd cheers when he lead the race? This McLaren and Lando will be fast there this year as well. Ticket pricing is the factor to blame.
Kym, you are well beyond click bait videos. Please don’t continue this trend. Lewis Hamilton has been more harsh on Silverstone ticket sales and prices, maybe focus on that. I had the chance to experience a very similar F1 experiences package in Monza 2019. It included a photograph on the podium, cool-down room, and interview room. We also got to watch the podium ceremony and a tour of the paddock. Also, this will be my 3rd year at Silverstone, and I agree with you about the ticket prices. I went to Budapest in 2016, and there were a lot fewer people but the same atmosphere.
I find this incredibly disrespectful towards Russel and Norris. As if they and their efforts aren’t good enough to draw a British crowd. Only Hamilton when he’s winning.
I'm not a fan of Red Bull BUT as a fan of F1 it annoys me that nobody had a problem of a single team's dominance when Mercedes won it 8 times in a row. It's up to the other teams to beat a dominant team. Silverstone is too expensive when we can go to other tracks in Europe cheaper.
Shame on British blaming a driver because their expired one can't win. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 The young ones csn continue the fights like Max, Lando, Charles and George. Next season new faces should be allowed instead of expired old guy like LH who can't fight much now. So according to the British GP promoter : The British motorsport fans have no confidence in British drivers achieving anything. Food for thought : Ticket sales are organized by TicketMaster /Live Nation who are owned by Liberty Media.
Phrased like that, it's even more hilarious 😂
TicketMaster /Live Nation is a racket. The US Department of Justice has just sued them after a two-year investigation into its domination and monopoly over the ticketing industry.
Not sure that'll change anything though.
TicketMaster /Live Nation is a racket.
@@billB101 By association , so is Liberty Media.
@@dutchsailor6620 Yep.
- The delulu of the Silverstone promotors are on another level of delulu .
Live in the UK but i'm going to Austria because it was all around a better deal, and at least Austria can double as a holiday for even better value for money. Can't wait, I've been dreaming of going to a race for a long time!
Love that Max speaks his mind, he's absolutely right on this
Well, Max ain't lying
It isn't going so well at Alpine. Alpine thinks : lets get Flavio 'crash-gate' Briatore !!! What?!
😊✌️
The prices for f1 tickets has gotten out of hand. It’s become a “dream” for most to visit an f1 weekend nowadays.
483 people were at Silverstone last year?! Wow! 😂
I love you Kym
absolutely loved your channel, but unfortunately its becoming like any other now that you are getting popular. Your content is great you dont need clickbaits. Its dissapointing that its becoming just one of those channels. I hope this comment pops us in your analysis as I am sure i am not the only one who feels that way.
I support my football team thru the ups and downs..it seems dame lewis has no true fans.. just conforming to mass media..he shall be long forgotten
Blame it on Verstappen. It’s getting a common British habit…
Kym, you are well beyond click bait videos. Please don’t continue this trend. Lewis Hamilton has been more harsh on Silverstone ticket sales and prices, maybe focus on that. Edit: further in the video you even say Max wasn’t “having a crack, just stating the obvious” Kym, please don’t become THAT UA-camr. You have built a solid following, including myself, please don’t sell out. 🙏
let Kym cook.
I agree, I ffwded the beginning of this video to get to what I watch Kym for. Original, true content...
He was doing a video on what was mentioned. Hardly click bait.
The British GP blames Max because British's darling LH no longer winning. Max said it right and this report is the truth. Only bias reporter will blame on others when their darling failed. Let the young guns fight it out and make it more of a fight. Max, Lando, Charles & George. These are the future of F1 and hopefully some more rookies next season instead of expired sore loser like LH.
Spot on ..lot of people not going due to price!!
Corporate greed strikes again. Thanks capitalism 👍
Clickbait
No it’s not. Listen to the vid.
@@Redlingstein So what has Lewis with boxing gloves on in the thumbnail, to do with this video? Lewis is further not mentioned in that part where that thumbnail is showen.
7:23 that’s me and Débora. Thanks Kym, we had a great time with you.
I went to Budapest in 2016, and there were a lot fewer people but the same atmosphere.
british gp is right.
Why does Max have Belgium/German boxing gloves on, when he is Dutch?
He was born in Belgium.
You'd expect with the 'dynamic' prices at Silverstone the price would go down now demand is down. Funny how it doesn't work dynamically then huh?
Yeah only dynamically up.
triple headers means a lot of behind the scenes content. good work as usual mr Illman.
Silverstone largest race with 483 people? I highly doubt that cause last GP in Canada were far over a 1000 fans...so 483 is not that much it seems.
Classic British view, blame everyone but themselves.
The young ones csn continue the fights like Max, Lando, Charles and George. Next season new faces should be allowed instead of expired old guy like LH who can't fight much now. As i said before, merc should not have resign him for 2024 but luckily ferrari was stupid enough to guve in to the narcissist and may doom themselves 2025. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Another strategic blunder for ferrari.
The narcissist should have been put on garden leave and get a junior in to prepare him for 2025.
So much faff when the problem here is ticket prices. 🙄
