- The Spirit of '43 is an American animated World War II propaganda film created by Walt Disney Studios and released in January 1943. The film stars Donald Duck and features writer/designer Carl Barks' prototype for the character Scrooge McDuck. It's a sequel to The New Spirit. The purpose of the film is to encourage patriotic Americans to file and pay their income taxes faithfully to help the war effort. The repeated theme in the film is "Taxes... To Defeat the Axis."

This cartoon shows how important our taxes keeps everything in our country running and we need to save to keep up with our payments.
The film is now in the public domain due to it being a government film. These types of films were never copyrighted and were automatically in the public domain.

I keep a jar of the money I get paid in cash in a money jar in my room to save for a rainy day as the saying goes and who knows when I'll need it in the future plus I would always donate to a good cause like supporting the army

How so? All it did was serve as anti natzi propaganda encouraging the spending of money to aid the allies. Plus, it gave us a prototype for Scrooge Mcduck.
