if we could just have a playlist of cheerfully antagonistic songs, that'd be great.
I made one, it’s called cheerful villain.
I'd come and help u kill them if u want
google Dr Demento
Look up Todd Smith's project called El-Creepo!
Just look up anything by Tom Lehrer
Ah Tom Lehrer - one of the greatest ever!! Seriously appreciate you covering him 😂🙌❤️
Ever since I came across you, I thought you needed to do some Lehrer. May I request "We Will All Go Together When We Go" or "The Masochism Tango"?
He has done the masochism tanto, go back on the playlist its not that far 😆
@@algrant5293 thank you! I'd missed that even though I'm subbed.
He is the new Tom Leherer
Agreed
How about the vatican rag
In this day and age delighted to know that others know who Tom was and actually get his humor as I do!
Is. Who Tom is. At the time of this comment, he is still alive. Apparently from another comment, has a hobby of collecting articles that refer to himself as the late Tom Lehrer.
@@jdgindustries2734 That sounds like a fun hobby.
I have just realised that, in the present circumstances, the world needs Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. singing "I Got It From Agnes".
Definitely......
He HAS now! Huzzah!
@@mu2freighter HUZZAH, indeed!
YESSSSSS!
The cheery smile when the video starts just uplifted me. This man is a gem.
ive never seen someone sing about killing pigeons with such a kind smile before
Tom will be pleased. It's hard to believe he's 91! Well done , sir. I just happen to be wearing the t-shirt you sold me. I am enjoying the looks when I wear it out. If someone comments, I let them know to look you up. :)
I love the hobby he's picked up in recent years of collecting articles that refer to him as the late Tom Lehrer showing that his sense of humour has held up
@@TheHutchy01 He is trying to outlive the anger he writes and sings about. At this rate he'll witness the heat death of the universe.
@@bancoran along with Betty White and Keith Richards
Funny thing: I just knew the german (Austrian) version of georg kreisler and thought that this was his work. The trick is: both artists claimed to have written it. Without the other.
Ah, Tom Lehrer! I’d love to hear you do Vatican Rag. 👍🏼
Amen to that (hehe)
The hunting song is good too
@@ahumblewaffle :-) Kaboom!
YASS
My Grandad first introduced this song to me when I was a wee lad. I've loved it ever since and we played it at his funeral 😁
Lehrer was so awesome! You can do his entire library and I'll be happy to listen.
One cannot have too much Tom Lehrer, including The Electric Company corpus.
Is! He's still alive (as of December 2020)
I thought this song had been lost to the mists of time. Thanks for bringing this little gem back to life for the 21st century! 🍻
Not forgotten - my friends and I sing it every spring.

They actually had to poison some pigeons in the town I live in a few years back because of a way overpopulation issue. People were complaining about them, the city said we will take care of it next thing you know birds falling out of mid air onto people’s cars.........
I'm a country lad. We shoot shoot the bastards.
@@andrewince8824 shooting them is just very ineffective but probably more fun
@@coronaexe884 it's a lot of fun but it can yield inconsistent results. Sometimes you get a good bag, other days it feels like you've hurt more clouds than bastard pigeons. Did once try to catch them with a terrier, unfortunately dogfighting isn't as instinctive for dogs as one would think. Lot's of crashed planes.
In my home city I’m pretty sure I read in the paper that sometimes they hunt them with falcons because poison is too dangerous for other animals and they’re not allowed to shoot in the city
@@bassgebrummel9048 that's cool. I watched a video were they used sling shots since they couldn't use guns
Omg thanks for the memories. My parents brought me up on Tom Lehrer. The ukele makes it perfect!! Love it so much!
I love that Tom Lehrer song, and your version is great!
This is 100% my mother, this song was absolutely made for her. When I showed this to her she couldn't stop laughing, but she would use d-Con.
"Bye Bye birdies" my mother 2021
I grew up with a record from the German Chansonist Georg Kreisler who wrote the original "Tauben vergiften im Park" in my position. He had quite an interesting life and wrote many of these dark humored songs. I just wanted to give credit to that.
But when I saw this song pop up on my frontpage I was very excited to see an English version by you! Glad to have found your profile, I'll spend quite some time here I'm certain.
Wonderful rendition and I'm glad this song is still around!
I just listened to Kreisler's version - it's so good! Thank you for mentioning it : )
Tom Lehrer just turned 93. I think I first heard some of his recordings in the early 80's. So happy to hear a uke cover. Well done!
This man is great! I hope he brings his songs to the states!
It's creepy, but all pigeons disappeared from my living area when I like this video. It's really weird, but it's works!
God bless you, Tom! Or whoever you are, Satan bless you too.
I think you captured the original feel of this song perfectly :)
Didn’t think I’d see a Tom Lehrer song uploaded this recently
Great tribute to the underrated genius Tom Lehrer
Rats with wings? Yes.
You've done Professor Lehrer proud.
"it just takes a smidgen! :D"
i love this song its so silly and devious
You have more than done justice to this song. And made my day too. Thank you.
to poison a pigeon in the park (ends and an ad plays) "Covid 19 vaccines open to everyone" i laughed so loud at that.
I get some strong "Monthy Python Sings" vibes.
Funny you should mention that because there is actually a connection.
Why Monty Python of all things?
@@anopirsten7565 Tom Lehrer wrote "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" and many other of his songs for "That Was the Week That Was", the TV comedy series that also launched the careers of John Cleese and Graham Chapman. The follow up, "The Frost Report" also included Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Eric Idle (as well as a lot of other important British comedians and comedy writers.) So that's where the Monty Python first came together and where they started to develop their style.
@@tessjuel I see, thank you for the info!
Thank you for making the tears run down my legs . You are a delight to brighten our days . Thank you
When I mentioned this song to my late wife, she didn't believe me. It's a pity she didn't live long enough to see this excellent version.
Tom Lehrer is my Elvis. This cat nailed it.
I used to sing this song all the time as a kid!!!
As a lifelong fan of Tom Lehrer, this cover brings me no end of joy. Thank you, sir!

There are advanced beings far beyond humans, and they feed you little treats like this for fun too.
Not to say this channel made me buy an ukulele, but there it is 😂
For non Americans skittles is a game with a board, a top, little wooden pins. Each pin has a point value, often played with light gambling going on.
Dude. I now wanna join this man in his sociopathic day to day

Tom Lehrer was one of the absolute best comedic songwriters to ever walk this planet. And how wonderful that he's being honoured by another. Well done, friend. Would love to hear your rendition of "I Hold Your Hand." 😂
You lighted my day!

I love this song so much and it's awesome to hear a cover of it!!
I've listened to this song (i love Tom Lehrer) many times and I love it, so now that he covered it, I can have two versions to listen to of a song that doesn't get much publicity. It also goes very well with his vibe.
