I was thinking the other day about why is joe rogan popular. Aside from the podcast, why popular. Why was he big in the standup world and yet not that funny? Then it dawned on me. He ended Carlos mencias career. Carlos mencia was doing standup and had a show on Comedy Central. And joe ended him. And i think THAT is what kept him relevant and not just fade away as only being the fear factor guy who does standup sometimes. It’s like, ending Carlos‘s career created this fear around joe rogan that made people respect him even though he’s not that funny of a comedian
