Hey JR I have been bowling since I was 10. Love the game. My balance got worse as I got older. My MD had me fitted for a pair of orthotics for my work shoes. I’m a RN. I saved and got a second pair for my bowling shoes. Suddenly, my game improved. I pick up more spares. My approach feels less wobbly. Hope this helps !
Great lesson! It has been a real problem for me and no one has ever explained it. We are always told as straight a line as possible to the foul line but it never made sense to not slide towards your target and it has hampered me for playing different angles. I was always advised to just get more upright but then my release was way up away from my ankle. I try to get more knee bend and keep my upper body less leaned. Now I will try to slide towards my target and keep under my head as well. Thanks!!!
Raymond, or anyone else. You need to watch the 3 step drill at insidebowling with Shannon O'Keefe. The 1 step drill, power step. It makes all the difference, exactly what your looking for in this video.
I honestly don't know what to think of my left foot. It winds up in ~11 o'clock position by the time I have released my ball. I have no idea how to wind up at ~12 o'clock, let alone sliding towards my target (which would probably have me closer to 12:30).
I believe you adjust your target line based on the final board you slide on, not on which board you start your approach on. It's ok to drift if you account for it and it's consistent.
This is exactly what I need to work on next. Thank you.
Dude… Luv ya maaan. Do what U do best… teach, bowl, and teach.
THANKS AS ALWAYS

Hey JR great tip but do have a question. With sliding towards your target does that affect drifting to the right and how would you solve that issue?

Keep doing this kind of vidio.
