- Laurie Beechman sings "Pharoah's Story" from Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in this 1982 TV appearance.
There will never be another voice like that. Laurie had a talent like none other. Her range still blows my mind to this day.
Her voice is phenomenal, and everyone talks about that. But her acting and interpretation here…that’s mind blowing. She was a treasure 💛
Wish Laurie will still here...she fought cancer a long time and I followed her journey as a fan...I miss her terribly, her beauty, grace and her magnificent and commanding voice, it was sheer perfection. ❤
Got to meet her at a record signing in ‘96. Love her so much!
Holy. Crap. What a treasure this clip is! Laurie was a rare talent and a lovely lady.
May she rest in peace amen
She had such a versatile and powerful voice. taken from us far too soon. fortunately we have a recorded library to remember her by. this song was rewritten for her and the Prologue (You Are What You Feel) was added to the show to introduce the audience to her brilliance... rest well, Laurie. I wish i could have met you to thank you
I wish I knew about Laurie back in those days. She was just AMAZING and AWESOME and taken WAAAAAY TOO SOON!
🎶Could be famous...could be a big success🎶 Love and miss her.
G.O.A.T. No contest.
This is my favorite performance
This quality is INCREDIBLE!!! Thank you so much
I'm obsessed with her musicality and interpretation especially at 2:33-2:58. I love how quiet she gets at the beginning, and then takes a pause after singing "become", and then the crazy controlled crescendo into her belt with a "slide" up into the "strange as it seems". She was just incredibly talented.
What a treasure!
Ah, memories.
Got to see Laurie as Grizzabella in CATS in Boston.😍
What a voice!
Always my favorite Narrator. But she was must too….no one can fill her shoes.
Star to be
Energy never dies, it gets transformed. Not getting too spooky but do u really think that power and intensity could ever be snuffed out? She's with us now. For me she was the best.
