BFP Episode 9: FCAS for Belgium, good or bad idea (my 2 cents)

- There has been alot of discussion on the topic of wether or not Belgium should join the development of the FCAS project. A decision that is controversial to say the least, as many say belgium does not need such an aircraft, especially as we are already commited to an order for 34 Lockheed F-35A's, and the first aircraft hasnt even entered service yet. So i thought i would give my 2 cents as to why we should, or should not, get with the program.

I think those 600 million should be invested in our air defence, considering we have none apart from those mistral MANPADS laying in some dusty bunker.
More less modern cheap build aircraft are more effective.
USAAF is still only 30 percent
Modernized after 25 years of upgrade.
To be honest 500 light attack aircraft
Are more effective big issue is to get proper sataletite technology to back up the system.
OR the EU form one block with research and production OR the EU joins the US for thesame reasons with localized production after development. But having 2 stealth programs in Europe and one in the US is a giant waste of money for evryone.
so we spent 600 Million for the replacement of a fighter we don't have yet , yet we have almost no Air defence capability...No mobile AA platforms , No Patriot system or comparable systems , No mobile long range platforms like the HIMARS , no medium and heavy helicopters yet and no 3th frigate or ( 2 corvette to boost our coastline defence ) , no tanks and no additional drones ..... Not even the Tiger attack helicopter since our combat groups are based to work with them in mind... So imo waste of money at this point .... And just a political cash handout to ease the tensions between us and that hypocrite of France who is still salty cus we chose the F35 over his soon to be obsolete Rafale...
Then let us invest in the Tempest.
Verry good video. I think its a good idea to join the FCAS, like Belgium did with the F16.
The F16 proved to be the right choice so no doubt the F35 will be also , better to buy the follow up to the F35 than into a Eu money pit
European FCAS is better than being dependent on the Americans for updates to the F35,
