Very cool to see Ventress return. She’s powerful. Some people forget she used to regularly battle Anakin and Obi Wan together.
She was my favorite character half the time in clone wars lol
@@j4ze114she was one of my favorites too. I thought that would be the last time to see her in the clone wars series
That is actually a good point. She could handle the 2 of them alone for at least the first few seasons lol
She has such potential
Though she is *considerably* weaker than either of them.
I think it’s safe to say no inquisitor could stand against Ventress alone. She’s taken on anakin and obi wan by herself for a decent chunk of time. She took out luminara with ease. She even fought dooku for a bit by herself. It would probably take Vader himself to take her on.
Yup
Ok come on, let's not get ahead of ourselves. She is powerful, but some of those are exaggerated. For example, Anakin and Obi Wan have both been shown to be competent enough to take them on their own multiple times. Like Anakin did on Kamino
Secondly, Luminara was blind in one eye while fighting. And they were still equal in combat and only lost when Ventress trapped her underneath some large pipes. Even Ahsoka was able to take Ventress on in a fight
Thirdly, I'm not sure lasting only 10 seconds against Dooku is as much of an achievement. Go watch the fight again if you dont believe me. It is only 10 seconds. Savage lasted longer than she did.
She is powerful, but not anywhere near any of the people you called. I think the Grand Inquisitor is the only darksider other than Vader and Sidious that can take her on. He is powerful when not facing plot-armor
@@willisstillhere8846 Ventress beat Grevious who killed multiple Jedi. You also can’t down play her defeat of Luminara being blinded. When Ventress was the one who blinded her. Yes anakin and obi wan have shown to be able to take her on by themselves but the fact that she can hold both of them off at the same time is ridiculous. Only Dooku was shown to be able to do that. Yes Ashoka fought her twice but both times she was outclassed. You can’t tell me the grand inquisitor is a match for her when the dude struggled against Kanan.
@@willisstillhere8846 lets not forget that ventress was called by palpatine becoming more powerful making him dooku command to kill her, now that really speaks volumes...if the events played out like in the book just with her not dying, ventress may be more powerful now with having a better understanding of the force, now lets face it, the inquisitors wont be send to hunt her down
first this is a time where vader peronal hunts down all the remaining jedis!
If we take everything in, ventress is more powerful than the average jedi, probably more now with her peace, now that is the perfect match for the current vader, the clones and empire will see her as a jedi, it will be reported to vader who will take care of her
vader appearance at the end would truly fit in this series, as showing us the most wicked vesion of vader yet finishing ventress and possible letting the crew escape if even possible, obviously those are theorys, but i dont see anyone being able to take on ventress other than vader and palps right now.
Yes she might be able to best him as the reason Dooku was told to kill her was Sidious saw her power and felt if she and Dooku went against him he would lose. So that should hint how powerful she is.
Disney bringing back Ventress: I am altering the cannon, pray that I do not alter it any further.
Pray that they do, maybe they might alter the cannon of one particular sequrl trilogy that isnt very enjoyed
My thought exsactly @@gameco5162

Me: “Wait. What happened to her red lightsabers?”
< Barriss coughs loudly >
Me: “Ohhhhhhh. I remember what happened….”
lol
Ha
Everytime i make a compliment! I never get one like! It cool tho! 😂😂😂😂
Do we even have an official answer on what became of Barriss Offee? It can't be as simple as she was killed in her prison cell when Order 66 was executed.
I will not be surprised if we see Ventress earn the respect of the Bad Batch and Rex’s clone troopers resistance. But I just hope we see Master Vos again
Perhaps the two of them have lived in exile together. Vos probably left Kashyyk and then moved to the planet we see her being on in the show. Perhaps Vos is off world when she meets the bad batch.
It time for vos to learn that his lover is still alive they should have realize they can't kill her I think her redemption starts here
I also want to see them together I never believed she died in the book as others survived stronger force lightning and for far longer as well as no need to put her in a stasis pod if she is dead. I want to have them show her and Vos some place maybe as part of the path together.
or maybe well get to see flashbacks of them together?
Seeing Ventress with one yellow light saber is one of the coolest things ever she’s got one of the most unique designs throughout all Star Wars
Honestly if they handle this well it might be next level. I like to think there's a possibility that she goes from fighting the clones to fighting with the clones for the same reason. It would make some sense if not a good arc/run in might be interesting if they handle the story correctly.
Faaaaaact! However, I think that Disney is setting up an all Female flop again. There are 3 main Force Sensitive females now. Reva Savander, Ventris, and Ashoka. They're Ronan.
@@Kidblurr02 Well considering that Reva is still a kid and a Inquisitor this early on I can say she's ruled out until 9BBY, Ashoka well she's hiding in tales of the Jedi atm. I mean maybe we see her join organa this season but I think Ventress might be the first Female badass who dosent flop she may not be better than her CW or DD counterparts but like I said if handled correctly by Dave I think it could work.
Brad Rau, supervising director and one of the executive producers of the series.
“We don't want to spoil anything, but want fans to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.”
Yea the only thing that really seems to change is her death. Which, that's a pretty big deal, but it's only one thing. Everything else in the book can be the same. "It wasn't death just a REALLY deep sleep"
What a bunch of bullshit and what a way to ruin a beautiful catahrtic moment. It should be a flashback@@cloudmaster182
so will they remake the book do you think
@@cloudmaster182 She was buried in the waters of the Nightsisters, on Dathomir. It’s probably just Nightsister magic.
@Bandorn yeaaa see that's not even far fetched tbh, nightsisters are known for coming back from the dead
I get why ppl are tired of dead characters coming back. But this one seems like it actually could've been planned ahead. (I don't think it actually was, but that's almost too convenient, if it does end up being the explanation)
I knew Ventress would return and I’m so glad she did.
So Dark disciple never was canon
@@viniciuscardoso8056 I guess it's Legends now or something idk
@@viniciuscardoso8056
No I'm pretty sure it's canon.
If I remember correctly, there was a glow or something around her burial site at the end of the story.
@@GalvatronStudios Disney has already said it is still canon and that "we want the fans to know that her story in Bad Batch will align with her story in Dark Disciple".
@@nicklibby3784 but that doesn’t make sense because you’d have to explain how Dooku comes back from the dead to kill her
Disney is on a termite infested stump at this point
I am shocked to see Ventress return but I can't wait to see what she'll in this final season.
vader has work to do
@@lordescanor8232 he's probably busy finding Obi Wan and dealing with the Death Star.
I always had issues with ventress being killed off in a novel. She deserves to be on a tv show. She stonewalled anikin and obi wan several times, sometimes together, she isn't a character that should be killed off in a novel no matter how well it's written.
I fully agree I really wish they didn’t take the comic series from legends where it’s pretty much the same story, but Quinlan and love with a criminal, and instead, they inserted ventures for the canon version
Well if they take from Legends we’ll probably see Vader kill her
The Dark Disciple really made her a character you could like.
They ran out of idea's 😂😂😂
Or ran into ideas
😂😂😂
What wrong with Ventress showing up? I personally hoped they would jump into her post clone wars/early empire…
Sad but true 😢
@@sleeper.simulant7327it’s just that it changed what we thought happened to ventress
0:48 I wonder if they’ll follow the theme of The Bad Batch and that this is a Ventress clone. It would fit the storyline perfectly, IMO, and maybe be part of the whole “cloning Force ability” we saw in TROS and Mando Season 3.
If she survives this season I’d like to see her meet Merrin
Part of me kind of just hopes Dooku had a last second change of heart and left her alive, kind of like how he wasn't able to kill Obi Wan despite Sidious's orders.
I agree Dooku sparing Ventress will also add another layer to their Master-Apprentice relationship while fleshing out the characters more imo. We were shown in TOTJ that Dooku was a more complex character, him doing that will also support that narrative since CW Dooku is just comically evil. Perhaps that will also give us a conflicted Ventress and allow us to delve into her thoughts.
I'm so glad she's back and with the hairstyle I like.
I was saddened by Asajj Ventress's noble sacrifice in _The Dark Disciple_ and miffed that we didn't get to see it play out in the _Clone Wars_ animated series... but now I'm glad we didn't, becuz now we get to see her return in _The Bad Batch_ and what a return it will surely be!
Judging by the faces of Fennec Shand and Cad Bane, I have a feeling the remaining members of the Bad Batch (Hunter, Wrecker, and possibly Echo) will turn to recruiting bounty hunters in their desperate bid to rescue Omega (and perhaps Crosshair as well) from the clutches of the Empire.
Ventress's appearance in the trailer indicates she is restraining herself from killing someone, but they are trying her patience. She is either facing off against Storm Troopers, or perhaps even the Bad Batch, who may be persistently trying to recruit Ventress becuz she alone would be a major asset in their goal of rescuing their sister and brother.
I noticed Ventress's yellow lightsaber... is not exactly the same as the one presented in _The Dark Disciple_ (that one was apparently instead given to Maul to combine with the remaining half of his original saber to reform a saber-staff in his fateful duel with Ahsoka). No, Ventress's yellow saber appears to have a curved hilt of some kind, or at least a curve on its pommel. This sorta makes sense, since Ventress trained under Dooku to use sabers with curved hilts, like his own. So perhaps Ventress managed to acquire this new saber on the black market, as she tinkered with it to better suit her, as well as to make it more her own.
If the Batch really is recruiting bounty hunters, I even wonder... if perhaps they might encounter Boba Fett. I doubt Boba would be willing to work with clones, even the likes of the Bad Batch, but I wonder how Boba would feel to know... that he has a sister? Boba aka Alpha and Omega are (supposedly )the only unaltered clones of their template and "father" Jango Fett (which Omega likely being an even purer replication Jango since female is the default gender of a human unless a fetus is infused with enuff androgens to result in a male infant).
For that matter, is it possible we may see or at least get a hint regarding Quinlan Vos due to his and Ventress's bond from _The Dark Disciple_ book?
Regardless, if Ventress is exposed, she will absolutely have a target on her back, one I fear Vader may personally deal with since no inquisitor would stand a chance against Asajj Ventress. I really hope Ventress isn't killed in this; it'd be a total waste of a comeback and an insult to her character and her history.
I hope Ventress will be around a while longer after _The Bad Batch_ is over. I love the idea of her turning out to be something akin to what Ahsoka has become, a... Jedi Ronin, as it were. While that's still not an official thing in SW, it'd be a perfect addition to the lore, and I can absolutely see Asajj being a Jedi Ronin, going her own way, doing her own thing, following her own path and how it has led her away from the pain and suffering she's endured towards something better... the Light Side of the Force.
Then in the end vader arrives and finishs the circle, by killing ventress!
Vader making a cameo appearance in this final season would be a cool.
Her death was written very well. I hope they don't screw this up.
I'll be honest I forgot she died. How did she again?
Never was canon, we are in Disney era, nothing is canon
Only way they don't screw is if it's a flashback
@@theunknownuser9609 so Disney did good in retconned kanan hq, ahsoka or dooku books? Obviously is retcon, Disney isnt good in canon
@@JakeGottfriedStudios She died by count Dooku's force lighting and her body was taken to Dathomir by Vos in the comics.
I don't understand why Lucasfilm is going to make "canon books" just to go completely against them and retcon them in the future. They did it with the ahsoka novel and now this, it's almost exactly like the sequel trilogy and they have absolutely no plan
Simple Disney
I feel like her role might be similar to the novel. Maybe sacrifice herself for the greater good whilst freeing Omega?
If it ends up as being a minimal role, it'll mean that they're saving her for something else down the line.
Either way, that trailer looked GREAT

Remember how they axed the EU to make a more cohesive Universe? Funny how that turned out.
Right
Because Disney doesn’t believe many people read books or comics when it comes to Star Wars. So they retcon them.
@@GalvatronStudios And their the biggest assholes for it.
@@GalvatronStudios Ventress did fake her death in the EU - legends though. She literally faked died in Obi Wans arms, using a sith technique to slow down her heart rate and then using a dark side power to enter in a hibernation healing trance that looks like death - even to a jedi.
After ventress faked her death, obi wan put her "body" on a Republic medical cruiser. Then ventress awoke from her dark side healing trance, took over the ship, and escaped.
Maybe Disney is just trying to copy the old legends EU stories of ventress faking her death 🙄
There was No Retcon. read the offical Disney Post.
This is massive.
Ventress and Obi-wan Kenobi dynamic is really interesting and often really funny. Ventress is capable of grabbing Obi-wan kenobi with telekinesis, when she she feels something that elevates her(something that makes someone feel a upsurge of great waves of relaxation, or makes her feel more vibrant than dubstep music, or the invincibility power-up music from some platformer games).
Last year i met the woman who voices asajj, and she is so sweet and eccentric :) shes a proffessional poker player also! Shes a really cool person, in person!!
You got a very rare chance to see her, she almost never goes to conventions
@MnDakota37 really! She was going to appear, then dropped out cause she had a poker tournament. But that fell through, so she's like, hey can I still join the voices against cancer convention? So she was there for just like 2 hours. It was Ian's last last convention he will go to. If anything, I'm just happy to see ventress alive. She was a personal favorite of mine during the clone wars, and could be a good foil to our heroes, especially if she meets Echo and/or Rex again.
Bad Batch's writing is well executed and I don't have any doubt that story of Ventress will not compromise her character. Although this is speculation it could be possible for her and the Emperor to go one on one sacrificing herself to save the Bad Batch even if that means she has to sacrifice herself. It would be interesting to see a battle between Dooku's apprentice and the Emperor, but we'll see what happens once the episodes come out.

NOOOOOOOO Her death 💀 was soooooo sad 😢 and I wouldn't change a thing.
Filoni retconns everything. I'm very glad to see Ventress still alive, but he never should've killed her. She should have set up a bounty hunting agency with Ashoka. I loved their chemistry.
They already said her death isn’t being retconned everything in the novels and her death will still be cannon
Welcome back Ventress . I missed you so much.
I am sick to death of retconning. I didn't like it when Marvel said Phoenix wasn't Jean Grey. I wouldn't even go see episode IX when I heard Palpatine was back. Now, this destroys one of the best story arcs of TCW (albeit never finished in film, great in novelization). I content myself with the DVDs, comic books and novels of Star Wars which were actually good. Disney can take a running leap if they think I'm going to consume any of the garbage they're throwing at us now.
Here's something to think about. It's stated that Ventress is buried on Dathomir. Now that Grand Admiral Thrawn is on Dathomir with three night witch mothers as per Ahsoka series, will we be seeing a zombie Ventress?
If they kill her and give her a meaningful death, I hope we don’t see her again personally.
Nice, i hope they make a live action series of her

It could be a flashback of some sort. Because we were first introduced to the Bad Batch during the Clone Wars and they even fought along side Anakin too. So it is possible that the Bad Batch ran into Asajj before her death.

Havent seen this mentioned much, but before the Disney cannon Ventress "died" originally after redeeming herself somewhat and helping the Jedi, telling Obi-wan with her dying breath to "defend Coruscant." She however used a healing trance and faked her death and used the opportunity to escape the war, the Jedi and, the Sith.
This part of her story was retconned by the Dark Disciple novel. So would this not then be a return to her original story?
I love ventress, and happy she is back.
Filoni stuffs up another great character yet again!
I imagine both Sidious & Vader would want Ventress eliminated due to their history with her (Vader seeing her as someone who could potentially replace him were Palpatine to reconsider eliminating her as with Dooku gone, he might view her as a replacement for Vader or elect to have her become an Inquistor)! Palpatine however might decide she is too dangerous to let live especially with Maul still alive (both had a connection with Mother Taozin and both have a common enemy in Sidious & the Empire, as well as both have a history working within the criminal underworld!
I dont think palpatine would think of recruiting ventress, especially atfer their history, she was never considered as an apprentice, at this point she is just meat for vader, in this case vader will arrive and finish her
she is also to powerful to be an inquisitor and the history and knowledge of hers will make both vader and palps want her death, for vader she is someone who knows anakin and fought, another puzzle piece that he has to destroy!
ventress would never join sidious
@@lordescanor8232 but maybe vader and sidious are never going to find out that she is alive

Man, i loved the Dark Disciple.
I hope they make it so that the explanation of her survival has to do with nightsister magic. It would make her death in dark disciple canon but it would make sense of her return and the nightsister lore is also very interesting to see again
I can't wait to see what role Ventress will play I loved her character she was so sassy and misunderstood
I’m not surprised the comics and books have always been seen by Dave as true from a certain point of view until he gets around to it on screen
"Eh we already broke canon sooo fuck it let's retcon more things"
edit: imagine she's gonna have cybernetics in her gut like that one bounty hunter to explain how she survived
edit 2: they may have retconned it but might keep the book version somewhat alive. I wouldnt be surprised if she got her own show, met Vos (who is still alive) and ends up helping him, falling in love and basically recreating that plot from the novel. What happens to her I dont know since Dooku isnt around but im sure they'll be running from the empire.
Interesting... That lightsaber hilt appears to be Count Dooku's (or at least constructed to be similar). It's also curious that she's not sporting a red blade, indicating either her stance in the force has changed or she simply chose not to bleed another crystal.
The last time we saw her in the clone wars she already seemed like she was heading for a change so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Quinlan Vos love interest is Khaleen Hentz and nobody can tell me otherwise.
I always liked her character. One of my favorite moments is when she got uppity with Master Yoda.
Honestly, I’m glad that they change this. They took Voss’s story from legends change the woman he was in love with to be a Ventress. And kind of zombied, the storyline between Voss and Duku and his lover,
Someone might already have written it, but Nightsister Magick can be used for resurrection and maybe this is why she was able to return?
I wouldn't go as far as using the word "retconned" considering she was laid to rest in the Nightsisters "Water of Life" pool. The book ends with a wink wink hinting she could return because of this. The Book left the door open for her return. That is the same water that restored Maul.
Actually the director said they do have an explanation that won't counterdict Dark Deciple. It probably has something to do with the Water of Life she was laid to rest in reviving her.
Comic nerds are gonna really hate Faloni for this....
As amazing as it is to see Ventress back...I have my questions and concerns...
I am aware that Brad Rau has come out and said that they are going to stay as true to the Dark Disciple book as possible, however if Ventress is indeed ALIVE...well that statement is somewhat untrue. So here are a couple of theories I have on the matter:
1) Ventress is still DEAD and what we are getting is a flashback from none other than Quinlan Vos (jedi master and former lover to Ventress...in canon).
2) Ventress is actually ALIVE. How? Well they may be going with what happened to Ventress in Legends where she faked her death (which would contradict what happened in Dark Disciple caused she died and was literally buried).
3) Ventress is DEAD and this is a clone (I hope this isnt the case cause that just reeks of lazy storytelling and lack of creativity).
Sidenote, I am excited to see Ventress again but Im also pissed that Disney would seemingly once again...retcon a good story.
Don’t care what role she plays. It’s just great to have her back. Like Bo-Katan, she had a compelling but unfinished arc
On the official website for this trailer they said the book is still canon and they are sticking to that. So this could either be a flashback or possibly a clone of Ventress
I cant beleive it shes back!at last
Wouldn’t be surprised if they ran out of ideas
Heck Yeah!,,
This isn't all that surprising, remember that we watched Maul die in-movie; Lucas wanted to bring him back for the animated; Dave argued against and was voted down by Lucas; so now we have an entirely new Maul timeline. Palpatine ordering Dooku to kill Ventress had more to do with not letting Dooku think he was on the path to "Sith Lord" and trying to overthrow Palpatine IMHO.
With all the history between Ventress and Anakin, it would be poetic to see her face off against Vader. Besides none of the inquisitors would stand a chance against her. If there are any inquisitors at this point in the timeline. Darth Vader vs. Asajj Ventress. It’s only right.
I’m positive that Dubey will make sure Ventress dies to some blaster bolt from a character we never even heard of
Oh for Heaven's sake does no one stay dead anymore? What's next, somehow Alderaan has un-exploded? Maul's ass cheeks have returned? Jango grew a new head and forgave Mace for the viking crew cut?
At this point it wouldn’t surprise me.
Alderaan is not going to un explode 🙄....... They are going to clone alderaan obviously. C'mon main, use some logic with that big brain of yours.
I'm down to see Ventress transition from animation to live action. That is if she survives season 3 of Bad Batch.
PLEASE NO they will figure out how to make it shit
MY GIRL IS BACK!!!!!
I'm happy to see her return but if I was a SW book reader, I'd be pissed...it seems like they always change the book material.
LucasFilm is being ridiculous. In the Legends continuity, Ventress kidnapped Alpha (?) and escaped the Star Wars Galaxy altogether. The Dark Disciple ending was beautiful and it just show how the term planning is non-existent in LucasFilm.
Not sure if this is a good idea. Her death in the novel was handled very well. Kind of ruins it imo if she is brought back to life
Fr, and there’s statements that Dark Disciple still is canon but then it makes no sense on how Ventress is still alive. Honestly we should’ve just gotten all the missed TCW arcs into a show instead of the Bad Batch. Bad Batch is not only boring but it has already retconned other things that came before.
Dave filoni did not like her death it was always his intention to retcon it.
I agree, what’s done is done and it was done well. Deserving of its own mini-series but not to get retconned
@@ianferguson6244it won’t matter Dave hated that part of the book. He was always going to retcon that part nothing else and that was before the book was published.

That story better play out here in the Bad Batch. The timing is right in my opinion, I’d love to see her sad love story play out. Ventress is my favorite Star Wars character 💕
Ventress's return is super exciting
I would like to see Maul vs Ventress
I see this making its way into ahsoka kinda weird that asajj comes back all of a sudden as they introduced the nightsisters into the show we may actually see a live action venturess 😊
Actually, I don't think she didn't die. Quinlan buried her on Dathomir, before death of Talzin, and her lightsaber hilt and perhaps kyber crystal were used by Maul to rebuild his doublebladed one. So, if she was revived by Talzin, who is a very powerful Night Sister, it was after her death, or she would use her Dark Desciple weapon. Her lightsaber in trailer looks similar to her Clone Wars pair, but it isn't, it doesn't have bars and clips they had, so she was weaponless when she arised once more, and had to create a new one.
