BACKSTORY:
"A Lifetime of Loneliness" is a song included on the LP album "This Is Jackie DeShannon", released by Imperial Records under catalog number LP-9286 as a monophonic recording in 1965, and later in stereo under catalog number LP-12286 the same year.
This album also included Jackie DeShannon's International Hit Song, "What The World Needs Now Is Love" a song with lyrics by Hal David and music composed by Burt Bacharach. First recorded and made popular by Jackie DeShannon, it was released on April 15, 1965, on the Imperial label after a release on sister label Liberty records the previous month was canceled. It peaked at number seven on the US Hot 100 in July of that year. In Canada, the song reached number one. In 2008, the 1965 recording "What The World Needs Now Is Love" by Deshannon was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
