Overall the Sony XB100 is a very incremental upgrade over its predecessor but it's still a decent little option if you need something ultra small and portable. But today let's see how the Sony XB100 stacks up to the JBL Clip 4 which I feel is due for an upgrade cause this thing has been around for awhile now.

If you are looking a little boom box with lots of volume, limited bass and distortions at high volume go for JBL.
All I can say is that
Sony is for listening the music.

You are nothing but a Sony hater... The sony has a clear sound, good trebble, really nice bass. while the jbl sound like you put a speaker inside a long drink glass... Overal i think that smaller speakers up to the xtreme and xb4x speakers, are easy win for sony, but when you have the bigger speakers like boombox or partybox, jbl is your way to go. The biggest reason for Sony's small speakers that its a better choice than jbl's, is the equalizer function. Unfortunatly the equalizer doest help with the biggest sony speakers.
They should add a 10 band eq like some of their head units
The Sony xe200 and 300 were terrible against the jbl flip 6 and charge 5 I bought them for myself and it sounds boxy and muffled that's why I sent them back to buy the flip 6 and charge 5
But you do have a point the Sony had full sound and bass the clip 4 sounds thin and bright
I would definitely prefer Sony's sound over JBL Clip's. Also in the sound sample, It is much fuller and deeper sound. I don't get how you could pick JBL clearly over Sony

In personal, Sony XB100 is way better to listen.
If you want to connect a bunch of little speakers together, I recommend the Anker sound core mini three.
In person the XB13 & 100 smashes the clip. How can you say the XB100 sounds worse than the clip? When I listen to both the XB13 & 100 next to the clip, it makes the clip’s tinny sound signature blatantly obvious. Someone buying a mini speaker doesn’t want the high pitch screeching that the Clip offers, I guarantee if people are looking for clean easy listening they’d buy the Sony every time.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s times when I want the flat profile and loudness of the Clip. But 99% of the time I grab my XB13 and now I’ve purchased 2 XB100’s and I love them. They rock. Plus the thrill of having that much clarity coming out of 2 mini coffee cups is amazing.
Yes, I’m offended that you’d say the JBL is the winner. It’s just not the truth. If I were to conduct blindfolded trials with these 2 speakers, I promise the Sony box would be overwhelmingly ticked.
But upon de-blindfolding, some would have an existential crisis, realizing they picked a Sony over their lord and savior JBL. They hear farts coming out of every speaker that is not a JBL. You could put a 7.2 professional Sony sound system around them and they would say the Clip sounds better.
This right here. Perfectly said lol. I love the clip 4 as well, but the Sony XB100 doesn't even sound like a mini speaker. It is impressively full bodied for its size. The clip4 sounds nice and loud and bright, BUT side by side to the Sony it does bring out the tinny sound on the clip 4. This guy obviously is just on the JBL fanboy train. JBL is great, but let's be real here lol.
Hopefully with the JBL Clip 5 and/or JBL Go 4 you’ll be able to connect 2 for TWS.
sony wins for me in this occation, this is not the same driver than xb13 but also the xb13 sound with more quality than the clip 4, not always the loudest sound is the best sound
You’re correct. I’d normally say that JBL is better but not here.
Seems to me if you want a brighter sound and for the vocals to sound better the Sony is the way to go.
The JBL just seems more muddy/hollow but with some extra base.
I usually do prefer the sound of JBL bluetooth speakers to Sony bluetooth speakers, but in this case i gotta say the Sony sounds way better... At least in this recording..

Sony has a lot more thump and sounds fuller. While the jb lfocuses on clarity and sharpness. So the sony is more fun to listen to and enjoy your music without judging the frequencies and clarity.

JBL Clip 4 seems louder, and Sony XB100 seems clearer, so depends what you prefer and what you're going to use it for
Bought the clip 4 for cheap by chance, i love the smallness and loud volume and impressive battery and the abiity to clip to my jeans. Even if the sony is better, I'd prefer the clip 4 over it for the versatility
What versatility?...the Sony has the same versatility and then some with the strap being able to connect to more things.

Xb100 sounds balanced, pure and deeper then Clip 4. Clip 4 uses more highs because of the grill's logo.

@@pixelreflectorpro I have Charge 5 since 2021. I hate it, it sounds terrible. Ugly bass, fake voice, too much highs. Quality is poor. Battery holds on for 3 hours on 70% of volume. Many datails are broken without any reason. Plastic is cheap. So this is why i still prefer my Charge 3 GG.

@@mykyta_go5hko Sofa experts? Anyway My charge 5 Sounds better than any charge 3 ive heard in person, it can even go head to head with xtreme 2's in terms of sound, Charge 3 has aux and Stereo For Its side, but with less output and a Less refined setup it just cant keep up!
i got the charge 5 and thats great, clip 5 would most likely be great to take outside. never really liked the volume too loud which is why my charge 5 is on low volume and it last hours. used it as a ipad speaker and tv speaker today and well its shocking how it sounds the same as my soundbar but its smaller.

Yes the down side of this new design on all the new jbls, are the little silicone rubber grips at the bottom don't really last.

To be more than fair, he gave the clip 4 a handicap with the 75% volume and yet it was still hanging in there, so yeah. Plus the xb100 is a taller speaker so it has more room to sound more open.
@@EZR396 even without it the xb100 would still be better and for a speaker that's better than the xb13 it's somehow worse than the clip 4 even though the xb13 was better than the clip 4 and go3 it sounds more balanced,better soundstage performance & better bass performance. Also size has nothing to do if a speaker sounds open or not it's down to how it's tuned
@@pixelreflectorpro true on ur last statement, but also not true, as u can have a speaker be perfectly fine tuned, but put it in a big enough body it will sound tiny and wont be heard as perfect. The body is what helps to trap some of the air and use the trapped air to its advantage at making it sound full.
I understand people have different tastes in audio and tuning, but side by side between these two, how in the hell do you say the JBL sounds significantly better than the Sony?? It's clear you have something against Sony, or you are a just a JBL fanboy and are biased. That really ruins this video and makes me have a hard time valuing your reviews. No hate brother. i have the clip4 and it sounds much better then in the video. In the Video it sounds like crap but in realllife it is much better
No, in real life it sounds terrible, i have one. The carrabin is already broken and quality is poor. This is AN version and ND version is more crapy.

@@mikeator5635 I prefer bigger models. My favourite speaker is Charge 3 GG. I rebuilt my new Charge Essential into Charge 3, but it still didn't has Connect+ button, but the speaker did.
@@mykyta_go5hko It is quite logical that the larger models sound better logical that the clip4 is not a sound hike compared to the charge i just like to put it in a Pocket without knowing if i Need it today and Then often we Need it so for me in this scenario the best way to go

The clip4 is unusable by someone who is blind like myself. I have never heard of any bluetooth speaker that had little lights to show the amount of battery life. However, the clip 4 does such a thing. There is no way to tell what the battery life, is, not even on the home screen of my iPhone like every other speaker does. You can't even use the JBL app. That app tells me the life of my JBL headphones I have. I'll take the sony xb100 hands down. The sound is louder, and worlds better then the clip 4.

So I got the new Sony because of the sale price and Im very happy with it compared to the JBl clip. The sound fidelity overall is nicer on the sony. I Specifically like the way the bass sounds on the Sony.
