ok so about the "what is sextrance?" thing. sextrance (or hextrance) is a very new subgenre where it takes elements of nightcore and lofi/early internet aesthetics with bitcrushing or distortion. basically it tries to evoke those vibes of downloading songs from the internet with very low bitrate/quality. just to clarify, i dont like the "sextrance" nomenclature, almost no one i know in the internet trance movements likes it, it was just a joke and some of us are still trying to look for a better name, for the moment i just like to call it alt-trance now, if you are cynical you can say that alt-trance if just taking trance tracks and speeding up the tempos and put bitcrush, but with that logic basically you can say vocal trance is just eurotrance but with "vocal" in the name or say that handz up! is just eurotrance but made in the 2000s, is not helpful discredit a subgener by simply describing it in a different way. but not just that, but there are a lot of alt-trance tracks that dont even are in high tempo, pitch and with distortion, it just used to described the trance that has been made in internet circles from some years ago to now, and because is a new phenomenon is very likely that we will see actual new subgenres in the future. however, you can argue that this mix is not alt-trance bcs i'm putting taking hard trance, uplfiting trance and classic anthems in the mix but wirh high tempos and distortion, you are actually not so cynical by saying this, that's why i changed the name to just trance/hard trance/nightcore. but this is the only mix i made so far with those characteristics, my energia angelical 2 have actual alt-trance artist and in my soundcloud trance mix (my favorite so far) not just have alt-trance but another trance genres you can be familiar with as uplifting trance and vocal trance with the thing in common is that they are new artist and represent the music movement on soundcloud. so that's it, i just wanted it to clarify that, i'm sorry by not answering in the first place what sextrance was, but because at one moment starting to be so annoying that i thought it was also a joke lol. but with this you may be understand better what is what you are listening here. PD: i can see it now and ppl will come and say "muh thats why microgenres are stupid". they are not and they are actually very helpful, having conversation abt this topics can be very informative and know abt hyperspecific scenes is very cool ❤
@tmaxgo4042 some rap group was experimenting and hexcrushed their music. this hexcrushing spread to nightcore songs to resemble how music sounded on old computers back in the early 2000s. the Sex- prefix comes from mashing different genres together to create Sextrance. Sex between different genres essentially
