Damn, I honestly forgot this movie exist. I use to watch it because it was one of the few movies that open tv channels would broadcast during halloween in my home country. Who would have thought? Growing up, I would become like the father. That last scene with his wife destroyed me, specially the soundtrack. Thanks, one of my favorite reaction channels.
OMG I loved watching this movie as a kid, I have a lot of nostalgia surrounding it! I haven't really consumed much other Casper the Friendly Ghost media but this one I always return to every once and a while!
I’ll never forget seeing this in the movie theater when it first came out in 1995, at 8 years old. I remember when Pizza Hut sold the plastic hand puppets of all the ghost characters 😄
*Christina Ricci as Kat in this movie still feels a bit like you're watching her portray Wednesday Addams, even with the lack of braids and black clothes. I was also really surprised to find out that Brad Garrett was the voice of Fatso.*
A "transient" is a homeless person (who would be squatting in the house), not necessarily a drug dealer. I've never watched this, but Stein, Idle, Aykroyd, Ricci, Pullman, Eastwood, Gibson, Dangerfield, and Father Guido Sarducci? That's a stacked cast. Definitely a movie to remember if you're ever playing seven degrees of Kevin Bacon. 5:53 "yeah"
17:30 - in all the times I've watched this, I never fully considered it from the dad's perspective, knowing that the present he bought led directly to his son's death. Ouch.
This movie was pretty much the first of a sub-genre that is really popular nowadays, “Casper” was the first live-action movie with a main character that was 100% CGI interacting with real actors
Of course the characters were cartoony. Casper started out as a comic book character, Casper the Friendly Ghost. Also, it was a staple in Saturday morning cartoons in some areas.
Great movie from back in the 90s crazy seeing Christina ricci so young haven't seen this in a few years so used to other Halloween movie I watch around Halloween
I still think this was one of the best live-action adaptations of a cartoon ever made, the 1990’s was the golden age of live-action movie adaptations, “The Flintstones”, “Inspector Gadget”, “George of the Jungle”, but “Casper” still stands out because we can see there was a lot of heart in it, the CGI was amazing, the soundtrack was amazing (composed by James Horner who made the soundtrack of “Titanic”), the acting was amazing, the references were amazing, it explored deep parts of it’s IP that the fans probably wondered about, like the fact that Casper is a ghost and a child implied that he died young which is quite sad by default, I wish this movie had a sequel because the end had so many loose ends, like what happened to Casper’s parents after they died? Did they become ghosts? If so why aren’t they there? Could they get some more of that substance that made the machine work? I wish we got to see Kat as a ghost having fun with Casper and becoming even more powerful than his uncles
There were four movies that I saw in my life that had the superb Christina Ricci this, Adams family and its sequel Adams family values and Sleepy Hallow with Johnny Depp.
you know my favorite of this movie beside the romance scene with Casper and Kat was the scene where Casper, kat and Harvey were about to head up to the party But then Harvey says, uh 🙄 Where are we and The reason why that was my favorite part was because after the adventure they day been through Now came the funny part where the character that wasn’t with them and was somewhere else not knowing what’s going on while he was gone just realizes He don’t know how he got there and After what harvey said would’ve Made Kat had to say it’s a long story.😄
Thank you for being an ally Sophie i was worried how you would feel about lgbtq characters in an animated movie until i saw your reaction to Nimona As a gay person living in his 20s I cant tell you how much that means to me of your excitement expression to val and ambrousious’s love So thank you!
Can't move objects? Can't actually hurt them? Take a look at most mythology and folklore, or any ghost related horror movie, and you'll see that they can in fact do both those things.
😎 This film was based on a series of cartoon shorts that date all the way back to 1945. Copy and paste this into UA-cam's search engine, for a brief documentary on the subject: "Evolution of CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST - 75 Years Explained" 👻 To me, what's interesting about this film is that it was put out by Universal when all of the original cartoon shorts were famously released through Paramount. To me, this is more of a kid's film than a family film. I think the main target audience was kids the same age as the party-goers at the end of the film and younger. If you like this sort of wholesome teen romance stuff, two other films I would highly recommend are "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" (1989) and "Matinee" (1993). 😉👍
Missed you Sophie
Welcome back Sophie! We missed you! ❤

Casper, the tale of a necromancer and a necro-romancer.
OMG I loved watching this movie as a kid, I have a lot of nostalgia surrounding it! I haven't really consumed much other Casper the Friendly Ghost media but this one I always return to every once and a while!
I love that Rodney Dangerfield made a cameo. He's one of my favorite comedians.
Awesome reaction as always ❤

@@nsasupporter7557 i remember McDonald's and Burger King doing similar of those I got a Casper glass from I've slept since the 90s 😂
it took me 10 years to realize the same lady playing the villain is the same lady playing the aunt in the Casper movie with Hilary duff
She’s also in But I’m a Cheerleader I’m pretty sure! Both Casper and BIAC are such comfort movies of mine and she just happens to be in both X)
Oh yeah I love Casper meets Wendy!! 🥰💖
Fun fat: the bottle with the "instant primordial soup mix" is actually a victorian era kitchen fire extinguisher.
One memory is unlocked
You were missed ! LFG
The Priest was a 70's SNL Character named "Father Guido Sarducci". Played by Don Novello, he is SO FUNNY!
The supernatural joke??! Ommmggg love love love ❤❤❤
"The freaks of the neighborhood" (as you put it) and a cult favorite of the 90s. What more does it need?
This is my favorite movie! The special effects were amazing for the time and still look awesome 😊

We missed ya Sophie!
Please watch Casper meets Wendy next, it's my favorite💖💖💖
There’s actually one movie before that… it was called Casper: A Spirited Beginning. It was before Casper Meets Wendy
The young kid version of Casper is the same actor (Devon Sawa) who played Alex in the first Final Destination.
Great movie from back in the 90s crazy seeing Christina ricci so young haven't seen this in a few years so used to other Halloween movie I watch around Halloween
You're my kind of human. Keep being you.

#proudSOPHIELENTSaddict 🌹
This movie may be cartoonishly over the top because it's based on a cartoon character from the 50's and 60's.
PLEASE REACT TO "THE WILD ROBOT"! 😱😭💖🔥
OMG YAS! that was such a good movie
Thank you for being an ally Sophie i was worried how you would feel about lgbtq characters in an animated movie until i saw your reaction to Nimona

So thank you!
4:31 That was Steven Spielberg's idea.
This is where my crush on Devon Sawa started
👻👻👻👻
Is she not aware that this movie is based on the old cartoon “Casper the Friendly Ghost?”
It was a comic book after all.
Funny 😆
Hello there hey there hey Hello hey there
The bad guy is so stupid. The Formula to bring back ghosts to the living would be more valuable then any treasure!
Hi Sophie.

Now i really looking forward to your reaction to "Wild robot" *(^o^)/*
Can't move objects? Can't actually hurt them? Take a look at most mythology and folklore, or any ghost related horror movie, and you'll see that they can in fact do both those things.
Well.. of course it seems cartoony... It's litterally made after a cartoon.
