Hi, nice smoker, I have one. The problem I'm having is temperature. I have to set smoker at 310° the actual temp shows about 280° and my third party meat thermometer ( which is calibrated) reads 225° for internal temperature. And it fluctuates non stop.
I'm quite concerned about having a 98# hopper capacity. it has been my experience that i spend almost as much time cleaning out and unclogging the auger as I do smoking. Yes, I buy very good pellets. But my Traeger's are just horrible to "keep running". So. while I am going to be buying this very smoker, I have that concern. Likely, I will still have to babysit the stupid Hopper constantly. Probably just part of the pellet smoker game I reckon. I WILL solve this challenge. If you have any idea how to complely prevent "bridging" of the pellets, I'm all ears.
I've never had a clog on my pit boss, it might just be more of a Traeger thing. The only real issue I have is temp fluctuation, if you running low that temp will swing wildly + - 20 degrees sometimes.
Now that you have had it for a few months, have you had any problems with it? Anything break yet? Notice any problems that you didn't notice back in March? In other words, are you still happy with it? Thanks for the demo video and review, Paul. It was very helpful for those of us considering buying one.
@@prccw37 Thanks for the reply, must have been a heck of a large 4th of July party or something to need 4 briskets! I browsed through my walmart the other day and saw this unit set up and came home to research as I usually do. Seems they are very hard to come by now days, but my local had 3 in stock 2 days ago. Most others I checked remotely are out of stock. I didn't want to order online after reading all the shipping damage reports, so maybe I'll go back in the A.M. and see if they still have the ones assembled. Thanks again, can't beat a proper smoked brisket!
I was deciding between this and the copperhead. Super super helpful video. Thank you.
Take screws out leave them out of fire box area and can remove after every smoke to clean ash out with vacuum that builds up

What's up Paul, thanks for your smoke and the music in your background is AWSOME, can you please share that info on who's the musician?
Man, I don't know who it is. It was on UA-cams royalty free music choices.
@@prccw37 Thanks Paul, What's cooking next!!!

The doors close just fine.

I still love it! Nothing has broken. I just did 4 briskets in it and it did an amazing job!

Do you get an error code due to the probe?
How many average sized port butts do you think it could hold?
I would say between 8-10
What brand of pellets are you using
Pit Boss brand. I love them.
Do you store this outside, uncovered? I had problems with my Cooperhead pellets getting wet.
I store it out doors with a cover. I haven’t had any issues.
@@prccw37 Thanks. Even with rain getting on it during a cook?
@@johnford1950 I usually have a deck umbrella up if I get caught in the rain.
Do you get a good smoke flavor with that thing? I just ordered one today, Walmart finally got them back in stock and they sold out an hour later.
Pretty good. If I want more smoke, I use a smoker tube.
@@prccw37 I have a smoke tube. I wasn't sure if one of those would get enough air inside the cabinet to work but it sounds like they do work?
@@frogbg661 There on sake at my Walmart today for 223$ from 497$ Idk if that's just my Walmart

@@Dubb910 did you buy one?
what would you guess the rate of pellet consumption to be at 250*-275*? Thanks
Man, hard to tell. I do know it goes a long way at that temperature.
music should twice as loud
Ok! 😂
