Yeah not his fault and I think the GM has also put together a great team. This team wins a Stanley cup easy if Val and Landy are playing rn. It’s just plain old bad luck that kept this team from becoming a dynasty. They made all the right moves. In hindsight we woulda been better off signing Kadri and letting Val walk but who could have know this was gonna happen? At the time it seemed like the right decision, go with the younger guy.
Bednar is a great coach. Most of us Avs fans agree.

Dallas is a really good team. Nate is frustrated beyond belief, Cale is making rookie mistakes, something is seriously wrong with Mikko, and Val Nichuskin just ripped the heart out of the locker room for the second year in a row.
Time to ship Val back to Russia and try again.

Well said and agree. Not sure what's going on with Mikko, he's just been off most all season. Maybe an injury, who knows. Val, feel bad for him and his addiction issue but 2 playoffs in a row his issues have had a MAJOR impact on the team. He was given every chance to come back this year with full support of the team, but a second time? Gotta go get help on his own now, can't be allowed to repeatedly drag the team down with him. Problem is, I don't think they can void his contract and no team will pick his contract up without a fleecing. Well, no one except maybe the Oilers, they seem to have a thing for stray dogs!
IMO, Georgiev has been our best player this Dallas series, it doesn't show on paper, but he is facing so many defensive breakdowns and it is hard to blame any goal on him

I have been seeing many people say that they are surprised at the lack of "supportive responses from the team" for Nichushkin. But, if I am remembering correctly last time the team was incredibly happy for Nichushkin's return and uplifting. However this is the second time in an incredibly stressful and draining playoff game that Chu's actions have thrown a major bomb to the team chemistry. With the veteran players mostly having the same message of "He made his choice" and "It is what it is" leads me to believe this is something that the team has tried to step in and give support and help with. That is just speculation though. There is plenty of research on the emotional toll of what it is like to be a family member/friend of an addict.
There has to be some major tension in the locker room, I think now is when we are feeling the loss of Landy on the Ice and in the locker room the most.
Cogs and Cale both said something along the lines of "No excuse, it is the fault of the guys on the ice" and how "guys come and go from the line up all the time" I think they are all doing their best to take ownership of their mistakes on the ice and how this is their job, and working through the genuine toll having a teammate/friend being suspended and finding out an hour before the game, when at morning skate everything was pointing towards a better game 4. But I think the human nature reaction is taking over the elite athlete nature.
Fact of the matter is, he has lost the trust of every guy in that room. Step one was probably jarring for the room, step two was a slap in the face, and getting to step three probably feels like a sucker punch for the group. I understand that Val is obviously going through something, I am trying to think with compassion and I am not blaming him for the struggles he is facing with an addiction, and relapses are incredibly common in high stress situations. But, as a huge Avs fan I am still unsure and uncomfortable with how the situation last year was handled. If I feel that way as an outsider, I am sure the people who he sees everyday and works with might feel similar. He was given two chances, it is time to move on.
And it's not just Val; Mack, Cale, and Moose all look exhausted. I wouldn't be surprised if Cale and Moose are trying to play through injuries, and while Mack is doing everything he can to make moves out there, his team mates are not able to capitalize on the plays he is making.

The team was very supportive of him after he disappeared in the middle of the playoffs last season, and again when he entered the assistance program in the middle of this season.
This is the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW he has fallen off the wagon in the middle of a playoff run during the Avs core players primes, I don't blame them for being done with it

It's a super minority of fans saying "fire bednar". He can only do so much with what he has when the top lines aren't producing. Also, the outcome of game 3 being lumped into this analysis is misleading. Sure, they lost, but Dallas stole that game. Colorado outplayed them significantly. This series has needed the top lines to step up and then losing Val likely shook their focus a ton. Before game 4 they looked much more focused.
Also, the culture of firing coaches in the NHL fucking absurd. Bednar has never lost the room in CO, and took them out of the dark days to a cup, and consistent playoff appearances. Firing him would be a massive mistake. Lastly, this series is NOT over and the close-out game is always the toughest. Don't be surprised if CO makes a massive statement on Wednesday and comes home with some momentum to tie this thing up. I've said it before but the Dallas Star's "success" this series is less to their credit than it is to Colorado playing into their system.
Yeah don't fire Bednar. the boys are a glass cannon between, injuries, goaltending, and general BS. Hes done great things to minimize that but as a coach, there is only so much you can do. I think we need improvement most on the goalie side. I could see the last 3 games being closer to 2-1. Watching every other team rn with how their tendies are playing in comparison.

The Avs need to get rid of nichushkin. Then keep Drouin and find better goaltending. Not sure how this is done with the salary cap. Not sure if Landeskog comes back at full salary how that may make the salary cap situation worse (but the CAPtain situation better).
As for Bednar, he isn’t going anywhere. Sakic is not that reactive. From what I can tell, the fans are not calling for a coaching change anyway.
Depending on the circumstances surrounding Nichushkin, a contract CAN be terminated without cap penalties if the circumstances align, it's just very, VERY hard to do so. We've seen two happen in recent memory - Corey Perry with the Blackhawks earlier this season, and Filip Zadina with the Red Wings at the end of last season. The issue is that it seems both player and team need to agree to terminate the deal and I don't know if Nichushkin will agree to that, unless this incident turns into a larger legal issue.
@@aksis2133 No reason for nichushkin to agree to term the contract, nobody else will ever pay him as much again. However, I do think getting out of Colorado and to another team is best for him (assuming it is not Seattle).
@@erich5819 I doubt it happens as well, but circumstances can force a player’s hand. I doubt Perry wanted to terminate his contract with the Hawks but whatever went on between him, the team and the League it seems like he didn’t have much say in the matter.

@@BodyofWater_lol are we watching the same series? The stars have put the Avs in a complete spin cycle since game 2. They’re the better team by far on both ends of the ice and on special teams. They made adjustments to their game after an embarrassing collapse in game 1 and haven’t looked back.

i have been so weary about this nichushkin guy ever since the incident in seattle, this is not surprisingly to me in the slightest. i dont understand why the nhl and the fans continue to pretend this guy isnt bad news.
but on a more positive note, im not a big dallas fan i actually used to be a bit of a hater in the past, but honestly, i think im being converted. im really really liking this team and they have brought a really exciting energy and i genuinely hope they pull this off.
2 things,
1. I don't think ive heard anyone wanting bednar gone.
2. I cant look at georgiev and say its his fault. Dallas plays tough defense that forces turn overs and they set up in the zone unchallenged resulting in a lot of high danger chances for them. Sure avs got SOG's but very few were good chances. With that set up i dont even think oettinger would have done better then georgiev imo. I also also think georgiev kept them in it for most of the series its just the team infront of him letting him down.
Game 1: bad 1st period from everyone. Periods 2-3 they tighten up and win in ot.
Game 2: period 2 is what sunk them couldn't stay out of the box. Almost stormed back from a 4-0 deficit but ENG's are ENG's
Game 3: 99% of the time it was a one goal game. Avs had more SOG but dallas had a lot more high danger chances.
Game 4: no toews, no val, team fell apart. Period 1 they got outshot like 15-3. tells me all i need to know and that they just weren't in it.

Wyatt Johnson turned 21 today. Last night he did something that only The Great One has done, and that is score a short hand goal and a power play goal in the same playoff game. This kid will be unstoppable in 3 years time. If the Stars win the cup, Jim Nill deserves a statue in front on the AAC in downtown Dallas. He has built a cup contender for the next 5+ years
Might be longer than that. The Stars’ cap situation will get a lot more manageable in the Summer of 2025 with roughly $22M in cap hit coming off the books for just 4 players (Faksa and Suter will be gone, and Benn and Lindell will take a pay cut). There’s no reason to believe this team can’t keep improving.
They are no different than the Oilers, a couple good horses at the top and then they are nothing but 3rd and 4th liners after that. Look at all the teams that make deep runs and/or win it all. It's depth at center and depth on defense that win. You can have average wingers, average goalies but you have 3-4 solid centers and 4 solid dmen you will always have a chance to make a deep run. CO doesn't have that anymore, Dallas can play their 2nd or even 3rd line against CO top line.
I always said that. Get a little better than average players overall and cut a 10-11 mil salary somewhere. But I think it's baked into the cake with the cap. Either that or you FIND players like Johnston and make a run. That's how Tampa made their runs. (Made) Then they're in the same situation.
I don’t think peeps appreciate how valuable the adversity of the Vegas series was for Dallas. The focus that forced on them makes them an absolute wagon right now…
A large majority of Avs fan will tell you Bednar is a great coach and he doesnt need to be fired. He built a team with a unique identity over the years and should get a lot of credit for it. The problem here sadly is Val Nishushkin, as much as i love the player, he screwed the team already in the last playoffs series against the Kraken when he got admitted in the NHLPA program for some reasons we never fully knew. This event very clearly rattled the team and it showed on the ice. Unfortunately after learning this new situation about him, it doesn't surprise me that the Avs looked like a shell of themselves in the past couple of games. This thing must have had an impact on the locker room and for the second year in a row, it screws the teams chance at a terrible time.
Its really too bad to see the Nichushkin news. They said on the Broadcast that he had a dirty drug test, and that's what initiated him going into Phase 3 of the program. I wish him the best and hope he gets well, but this is not good.
Bednar is not the problem. Colorado lost most its depth since the cup run.

Their recent additions of Trenin, Duhaime, Walker, and Parise have combined for 4 points in 28 playoff games combined. Not good decisions at the end of the day.
Welcome to life after winning the Cup. Your depth earns pay raises and you can’t afford them, then you’re left trying to cobble together a bottom six every year and crossing your fingers it works.

We lost because of Nuke. It obviously shattered team morale. And to be honest, I think they know they need him if they had any chance at winning the cup. Even if they do come back this series... I think the Nichushkin suspension killed any hope they had at winning the Cup.
I like Bednar as a coach a lot. I'm also not sure if it's all Georgiv's fault. Lazy passes in the defensive end and lack of hustle to get the puck out. Would make it hard for any goalie.

As a relative of bednar, hes actually a great hardworking man who keeps on trying to win, he won't be fired but theres definitely a possibility of him retiring soon
I'd say he's still 5-6 years away from retirement.
Dallas is winning the cup
Last night looked like a replay of the Bruins vs Panthers 4th game with different colored sweaters. It was brutal to watch. The series of unfortunate events hurts my heart for these AVs! Coaching is not the problem. They lost their depth. Avs are cooked and Dallas is doing the cooking right now.

Most fans agree... Bednar is a great coach and we should keep him for as long as we can. He's signed through 26-27, and I hope he continues to remain an awesome coach and is extended.
Avs fan here, Georgiev is not the issue. Avs wont get a better goalie than him for the cap budget they have to spend on a goalie. Georgiev had a shaky season and a poor end to the regular season but look at his stats last season when he wasnt overplayed like crazy due to our backup/tandem goalie Francouz being injured and forced to retire from the NHL. In these playoffs except for game 1 of the first round he has been insane for us. Also why would Avs fire Bednar? I havent heard a single Avs fan call for that and I doubt they will we love Bednar here and its evident that he's got what it takes not only to win the cup because he already did that just 2 years ago but also the way he runs the team is very evident that he's the right guy for us. We lost to Seattle last year in the playoffs due to injuries and all the Nuke drama which seemed to rattle the team and they never played the same after. This year if they get eliminated by Dallas we've not only had the same thing happen again but we would have lost to a team thats better than us on paper and whos found their playoff form. Dallas is a unit of a team and losing to them will in no shape or form be a failure. I think people are overreacting badly. If this was the Leafs who hasnt won shit in decades then id understand the reactions but Avs won a cup 2 years ago they are in no rush at all for this team to win
I don't think it's Bednar. Avs just need their Captain, Landeskog, or someone to step up to it. Another thing I've noticed is how they don't have a good hold of the puck either, like they lose it or just straight up put it nowhere for Dallas to pick it up. Also game 3 was 2-1 until Dallas got 2 empty nets so that one wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Bednar isn't the problem. Makar cannot play physical hockey and the other Avs are chosing not to. Sad to say but the Avs look like the Leafs. They aren't at the level of other teams in the playoffs.
Losing is inevitable for 31 teams, and it looks like the Avs are going to be one of them. If Dallas moves on, it was because they were the better team. No big deal, that's just business in the NHL.
From Colorado. Watch almost every game during the regular season. I love Bednar. He’s really even keeled and knows how to keep the guys’d heads right and focused in the locker room. I know Dallas is really good at clogging up the neutral zone making it hard to gain zone entry carrying the puck and therefore, we’ve had to play dump and chase this whole series. That’s not our bread and butter, though, and I’d like to see Bedzy go back to trying to carry the puck in by getting g guys looping through the middle and hitting them with speed. Too many passes to guys standing flat footed. Last thing, ottenger has been a wall, but I don’t think he’s been better than Georgie. Dallas is just getting too many high quality chances and the Avs are forced to the perimeter. I can’t say more than a goal or two we’re actually on Georgie.

Excellent coach! Haven’t heard much negativity surrounding him. Bad events are hurting the team not his coaching.
As a Stars fan, the Avs would be dumb to fire Bednar. He’s a fantastic coach, there’s no reason to get rid of him. This could easily be a 2-2 series with the almost collapse in game 2 from Dallas. This isn’t a coaching problem. I just think, especially in game 3, Dallas just figured out how to completely squash Colorado’s gameplan. Then all the stuff before game 4 hurt Colorado to an extent that they just looked out of it. When it comes to Val, this is two years in a row where he dipped at the most crucial time and abandoned his team, for whatever reason and I ain’t gonna speculate, but it hurts not having someone that important to your team not being there. I don’t think anyone was expecting this from this series, it does help my Stars that Oettinger has been playing lights out, but they’ve almost completely taken Colorado out of there game; Makar and Mackinnon have been silent the last few games and the team hasn’t lead for a single second this whole series. This isn’t the Avs that I expected.
I absolutely love Jared Bednar as our Head Coach. Please do not let Nichuschkin's blow problem be his demise.
This was damn near a sweep too. Stars had a 3 goal lead in game 1. The reality is dallas has 4 good lines and depth beats star power in this matchup. 8 players on the stars had 20 goal regular season.
The Avs have been a one line time for most of the year. Its credit to Mack, Ranta, Makar, and George for going this far. Dallas is too deep.
Bednar is a fantastic coach. I don't think there is an issue here. All-in-all it was a stacked set of circumstances, Nichushkin, injuries, could have more depth, and a better goalie, combined with the team not playing to their potential for 60 minutes that have the Av's in their current situation. The Avs - Dallas series would have been tight, but the Avs couldn't adjust enough to keep up with Dallas's depth and let the series get away from them. Could they rally, sure, but unlikely.
As a fan. I'd say they have lost their fire. Guys are playing way too relaxed, I don't know if its the cup win and the lack of hunger that came from that. Or is there nobody in the locker room to fire them up. I'd say consistency is what they need the most, they lack of it severely in the defense, and sometimes goaltending. The offense has long spells of success, but the playoffs are less forgiving if it turns off for even a second.
I'm pretty shocked this is how its going down. I had the Avs and the Panthers for the cup.
Bednar is an amazing coach. Denver Post had an article about the synergy between Advanced Analytics department, Coaching, and Players. Within 24 hours, an issue that appears in the data can trickle down to players with footage from coaches with easily digestible and actionable information so players can adjust. He's got a well oiled machine. This is a very beatable Dallas team who looks shakey when Avs tilt the ice. Avs just have to tilt it by playing harder.
The problem with that last statement is only one line has really shown the ability to tilt the ice against Dallas. That can’t work in the playoffs. This Stars team is one of the deepest teams I can remember. Hell, the entire top 9 could play on a top line somewhere in the NHL, and the 4th line would be a good 3rd line for most teams. Now the Stars have maybe the best top 4 defensemen in hockey and a stout goalie who has been hot since March. That’s a lethal combination. I wouldn’t say the Stars have been shaky save for the 3rd period in games 1 and 2. This series has been all Dallas.
@@mchaseross13 I'm just making the point that they look beatable. In the rare occasions in Games 1 and Games 3 when Avs did their usual bombardment of shots and cycling, Stars were on the back foot. Otherwise, they've executed perfectly this series.
My whole point is that the team is beatable and the failure looks to be on player execution 100x more than anything to do with bad coaching. Firing Coach Bednar would be an insane knee jerk reaction and disrupt a well oiled machine.
Any team is beatable. I don’t agree the Avalanche are losing this series because of poor player execution though. The Avalanche made minced meat of the Stars on the power play in game one. The Stars made adjustments, and the Stars penalty kill has been bulletproof since then. Additionally, the Stars were on short rest in game 1, and their fatigue showed as the game wore on. The Stars’ depth is clearly getting the best of Colorado, and their forecheck has completely disrupted the Colorado transition game. Ultimately, the better team is winning right now. That much is clear.
@@mchaseross13 Everything you’re saying is true but it’s a whole other topic. the original question was about how Avs fans feel about Coach Bednar being fired and I think it’s ridiculous. He’s running an incredible operation and the failures of this series so far has a lot more to do with Avs getting outplayed. He absolutely should not be fired. Esp since the team has been streaky all season, lose 6, win 10.
@@IIMIKEYMOII I agree that people calling for Bednar to be fired are overreacting big time. However, I think he’s been out coached in this series. With Chris Tanev now on the Stars, I think they might be the best transition defense team I have ever seen. Ultimately, it falls on the coach to find a way through those holes and make adjustments accordingly. That does not appear to have happened. It’s not a deep roster, and they seem to not adapt well to teams that can handle their transition game. That failure falls on coaching and on management. The roster just isn’t deep enough to make a late run in the playoffs in my opinion.
No Bednar is great, its not his fault for anything. Who ever the hell is saying get rid of Bednar, want our team to implode. Avalanche fans love him and were very lucky to have a coach like him. Stars are playing well, and playing at full strength. We were playing well first 3 games, this was our worst and we all can tell why. Even though you replace a good player like Val with another player like Drouin, Toews was also sitting out. No amount of coaching is going to get your players passing tape to tape if they aren't gelling well that game.
Literally not a single one of us Avs fans wants to fire Bednar. He's our winningest coach in franchise history for a reason.

As an avs fan georgiev has actually been amazing this series. Bednar is not at fault. The problem is something else with this team, I think they're missing their captain, and I think mackinnons aggressive drive to win is exhausting them without a guy like Landy who can provide more laid back leadership.
I also think that losing nuke and toews last night was what made them play so bad, and if you actually watch every game other than game 4, you'll feel the avs outplayed the stars every game, and that this series would be a close one.

@@runa_7022 no shit Dallas is really good. They still got outplayed every game. The reason their winning is that their depth scoring abilities are so high. A team without that depth scoring would be losing the series.

I’m seeing similarities between the Avs and the Oilers. The superstar route for building a team just doesn’t look quite as attractive as building around great players that don’t have the superstar label and having some money left to flush out the rest of the roster.

I liked how Colorado got tougher with the acquisitions of Wood, Trenin and Duhaime. My team (the Bruins) are as soft as a pillow. But this is just a bad matchup for the Avs against Dallas.

The lack of depth is a huge problem, but Dallas is a really good team in every facet of the game.
Mackinnon has been as effectively blocked as is possible. I hope I'm wrong about Florida winning the Cup as though I would love a Canadian team to win, I don't think either Edmonton or Vancouver can be the Stars, at least Dallas plays within the rules, physical but not dirty.
I'm an avs fan but this is just like we looked one of the best teams when we played against Winnipeg😪

The year Bernard started, I made a dumb internet comment that I could coach better. I have never been more wrong. He’s a contemplative coach who focuses on precise execution throughout the lineup and improving every player he has. The avalanche would be lucky if he retired as their coach. Anyone saying otherwise right now is just upset that the AVs seemingly have had their playoff run ripped out from under them by bad bounces and unforeseen circumstances.

No sane avs fan is blaming Bednar. Even if they were, the whole winning the Stanley Cup two years ago should buy him at least a few more years.
I feel for Val but as an addict myself I’ve had to live with my mistakes and he’ll have to live with his. I doubt the nhl “player’s assistance” round 3 is gonna work for him if it didn’t work the first time. Also, those kinds of programs are more so there to absolve the league of any liability than they are to actually help the guy. I’m sure a lot of the staff in those programs might genuinely care and want him to succeed and all that but at the end of the day the league will come first. Just the way the world is.
It’s a shame but I’m not gonna sit here and act like I could deny those temptations as a professional athlete when I couldn’t even do it as a deli worker haha

I had heard they played Georgiev a lot during the regular season - he didn’t play that much more than other goalies did. But maybe he could have played like 10 games less and have been a lot fresher during the Playoffs?

As an Avs fan I think Bednar is a good coach we just need a new goalie in between the pipes and I think we should trade mikko because he was inconsistent for the regular season and playoffs this year
Bednar is a good one. Its not the team's hustle and intensity. Its more of a Sakic model... heavy up front, no middle depth, and a cheap goalie. Its the same construct as Toronto and Edmonton. Edmonton just has the best 2 forwards in the game and that helps tremendously.
Watching them play last night it really doesn't feel like a coaching issue. The team looked so demotivated after hearing the news yesterday. It looked like it rattled them mentally so much that they just forgot how to play.

It’s a small percentage of Avs fans that want Bednar gone, and they’re all idiots. It’s just easier for fans to put all the blame on one individual because then it’s an “easy fix”.
I’m not really sure what he’s suppose to do. Dallas is just a better team on paper and has a much better goaltender. Add in losing your best two-way forward and one of your top D-men, I’m not really sure how you put this on him.
The hockey gods are definitely saying NO to this Avs team this year for another cup.

Mackinnon breaks down in situations like this and the whole,tea, spirals out of control. He thinks that it is up to him to put the ga,e on his back and carry 1v9. Instead, the whole team dynamic breaks down. They become the the most offensively non-threatening team in the league and can’t put together an offensive push.
TBH if you get rid of anyone, it’s MacKinnon. One person’s individual skill doesn’t trump and entire team.
No, I don't know where you heard that but Bednar is no where close to being fired. He is one of the best in the entire league and so good at making adjustments that work. No one is blaming him for anything right now. Val though, I know its hard going through drug problems and I hope gets the help he need but he just sacrificed the whole season and playoff run for his drug use. I would be pissed too if I was his teammate, he just let everyone down. He is a key player, especially in the playoffs but I don't think he will play another game for the avs again which is really sad to say. Im not surprised they played like shit last night, that's a lot of hard news to take it before a game.
The Avs just aren't playing with any urgency or passion. Some of the recent post game comments concern me, like after a loss something to the effect of "there's no panic in this room, we're a calm group". Ummm, maybe a little bit of panic and frustration is a good thing. I like an occasional angry Mackinnon, he absolutely destroys the other team when he's angry. Bednar is an awesome coach and a fantastic human being, but have the Avs become too comfortable with Bednar? Hard to know unless you're in the room I guess. Would hate to see him go but it's hard not to wonder if maybe they need a fresh voice. And that's not on Bednar or his fault, but it may be the reality.
i have a hard time sympathizing with a team that hoisted the cup less than two calendar years ago. if they can't get another one, boohoo. may the best team win. the only person i truly feel for is landeskog
Avs fan checking in. Val ripped my heart out. 3rd stunt like this, as we all wish him well not sure we will see him again. Hes one guy but how it happened 2 years in a row is wack... it pisses me off in that aspect a lot. Been in rehab... ok dead horse... Coaching... man that's a tough one and I have thought it over and over. Coming from a person who plays hockey my entire life, does not miss a second of a single game its hard to say with Bednar. It may be time for a change though. There is too much talent on this team for them not to at least give up a fight. So I have felt at times the systems are wacked and Bedard is getting out coached. Rememeber a few years back, the Avs had an identity that no one else was doing. All the points from the blueline. Its all everyone talked about is how the Avs used their D. Now idk maybe complacency has got the best of the team with the same old same old. Not to mention how soft we are... Watching Devon Toews get laid out by Benn, then really no one did shit I felt we were cooked then. Since game 2 something has been off I will be interested to hear more details the summer. Whole thing is fishy. We come back game 1, the just lay down and die... then Val then Toews... so whos knows we only here a small fraction of what is going on. Like with Toews, they say he's sick... man he ain't sick... Maybe puking cause he got a concussion. But he ain't sick no freaking way. Thier bodies are far to healthy to just all of a sudden get sick during the most important game of the year.

Bednar isn’t the problem. Scoring depth at the second and third lines is the problem. Goalie inconsistency in big games also puts the team at a disadvantage before the puck drops.

Oilers fan, and while VAN is giving all we can handle and then some, I don't think we stand a chance against DAL even if we survive this series. DAL vs NYR seems inevitable at this point, lest FLA can shock us all
as an Avs fan the minority of fans that are saying fire Bednar are a little insane. He made the right line changes and tried to motivate the team to come back. But then again its not up to him to win games, it is up to his players. I think bednar was the reason avs won in game 1
Hell no, Bednar is our guy. Game 4 not one Avs player showed up and played like they wanted it. If my team loses playing their hearts that's one thing but to lose and look like they are already on the links is disheartening to say the least. As for Val Jack said it best, he made his decision.

Everyone keeps saying Rantanen is invisible, but he keeps racking up points. He's still 2nd in playoff points even at this moment. If you meant he isnt playing to his normal level, then yeah I agree.
Gotta say this - telling a team an hour before game time the Stanley Cup leader in goals is suspended is BS. No time to recover and the players are human - this happened last year too, and it was likely very deflating. Bednar is a good coach. I want him to stay.

COL without Landeskog, Nichushkin and Francouz, sounds like Sakic will have to work overtime to fill those now glaring holes. No disrespect to Parise, but he should be put at best on a 3rd line at this stage of his career if he wants any shot at a cup and he should probably be the worst of the line.
They really need to look at moving Nichuskin if that's even possible. Two years in a row being unavailable in the playoffs for personal reasons is ridiculous.

No way they fire Bednar, there was no mistakes made from MacFarland nor Bednar. Sometimes you have bad luck, I think its ridicilous that after one or two bad playoff performances you should do a huge change when they have done almost nothing wrong.
