Huge thank you for posting! Mike Oldfield has been my absolute musical no.1 choice for 20 years, and continues to be... Love discovering all these late 70's/ early 80's live performances. Adds a whole new dimension to the songs. Beautiful mesmerizing vocalist too.
All these minimalistic slick Sounds, along w/the Voice-Vocoders and the cooling Chord-Changes - made Mike and his Troop to No.1 of a Rock-King - forever.... (Pat, Switzerland)
Tim Cross - Mike's best keyboardist over the years? Surely up there with them if not top of the pile. Puts the Prophet 5 to good use, I think the SH2000 for all the solo stuff, Vocoder... ah happy days :)
Hundreds of nights - when I was a young girl - I felt in sleep with him - and thousend of nights later I finally recognize how good he looked. It´s the second time now, that I fall in love with him. Thank you for the pleasure. Y
I guess his music isn't for everyone. As I am not like most people I can understand why others don't see the good in his music like many can not see it in me. I can not understand how once could say there is no feeling is his music though as his music has far more feeling that popular music. I would be curious to know what music you think it better than this, for I think Mike Oldfield is amazing.
I think it's because he wants to reproduce the sounds coming from his mouth as accurately and faithfully as possible. Many artists using the vocoder do the same - mouth as close as possible. My two cents.
@sonicdeath10 Except that I heard they mostly overspent the money generated at those days on expensive hotels and Mike almost got bankrupt thanks to these tours... Also the Branson's ripoff terms were contributing a lot... I so hate seeing the "Sir" getting this well on his spaceport venture, cause the wealth he has now is totally undeserved.
@coltsuperocean10 Seriously? when we can compare your music on youtube to that of Mike Oldfields we can then assume that your comment is a personal opinion without substance.
Unbelievable...I feel like crying...unbelievable How is this possible Oldfield so much underrated?
Mejor así amigo, es selección natural
Just fantastic! A seriously underrated actual true genius

true, he is so deep with his music, most people don't understand it because they are not really listening...i wish he would make a amarak 2!
Well, sometimes he does. In the year 2000 I saw him live and he played an extract from ommadawn... one of the best things I have ever seen
Como amo está canción...
He's the Chuck Norris of Sound.
I love this just as it is !

Quelle chance de l'avoir connu!!
The Vocoder is my favourite effect device

The lady with the orange hair looks like an alien off the science fiction series StarMaidens from the 1970s
That's the wonderful Maggie Riley.... For most people they'll recognise her vocal talent from singing Moonlight Shadow (Taken from the Crisis Album)

Not really. It is a fine rendition. Playing Amarok live, on the other hand, would be quite the undertaking.
his music is great, but i just hate those annoying screechy things in the background at 4:18.
Putain de génie!!!!!!!!!!!
