Be in even better shape if the Bradfield plan was implemented, particularly in El Nino years. While the La Nina rains have replenished the entire system, droughts during an El Nino year could be brutal. Currently there is no system for dealing with that. Climate warming requires not just the long-term policy of decarbonisation, it requires immediate action to secure water and to manage resources. Diverting some of the rainfall that falls during La Nina years to the inland, then storing that water, or releasing that water more gradually using Peter Andrews methods, is going to help even out the extremes that we will increasingly see in the weather events under a warming regime.
