Cortosis is the metal that shorted out the Lightsabers and it is not new to cannon. It just hasn't been seen in live action before. Also, Lightsaber colors have nothing to do with the level of Jedi, but with their style and mindset towards the Force. Blue for a Jedi who used the Force on a more physical level. Green, a Jedi who preferred to reflect on the mysteries of the Force and fight the dark side at its heart. Yellow, a Jedi who honed his or her skills in a balance of combat and scholarly pursuits. Those traits would often lead Jedi to fulfilling specific roles in the Order but not always. Any darksider can have a red Lightsaber, not just Sith. Those colors also come in various hues that have an even deeper meaning. I really like this show and how deep it pulls from the already established lore. I get that if you're not a super Star Wars geek that some things seem new or "lore breaking" when it's actually not. I think this show is way better than Episodes 8&9, Solo, Boba Fett and Kenobi. So far it's slightly better than Ashoka too. That may change by time the season wraps up but it's been great so far.

I'm surprised no one has through to make a suit of armor of that metal and just run around taking out jedi.

@Heroesfullyalive It's a very rare alloy that's harder to find than beskar. The reason more (non Mandalorian) people don't have beskar armor and weapons is because beskar it's difficult to smelt and only Mandalorian armorers know the secret to successfully forge with it

@Heroesfullyalive Well, the MCU doesn't follow comic book cannon. In the comics, vibranium IS 6 there are 2 different types, from 2 different places on Earth. The MCU sorta tries to incorporate that in Wakanda Forever but missed the mark imo.
