...... a BRILLIANT bassist who's work will inspire for centuries...that gallop bassline on Montana kills me every time....Rest in Peace Tom Fowler.....
I've been a Zappa fan since I was fourteen, and I've just turned 66 years old.Tom was unique in his bass playing during those Roxy days, along with so many other talented musicians that collaborated with FZ.🙏 RIP
Tom's performances on the Zappa albums Over-nite Sensation, One Size Fits All, Bongo Fury and Roxy & Elsewhere are legendary and amazing .. RIP Mr. Fowler, the music world misses you already.
Such a brilliant bassist. In addition to his recordings with Zappa, Ponty and It’s A Beautiful Day, check out the Fowler Brothers albums. Top notch stuff. Rest easy, Tom. ✌️🙏
Terry Bozzio on drums, Tom Fowler on bass, Danny Walley on slide, George Duke on keyboards, Captain Beefheart on vocals and soprano sax and madness, thank you very much for coming to the concert tonight, hope you enjoyed it. Good Night Austin Texas wherever you are…
You forgot Nappy and Tom's brother Bruce. *Bruce Fowler on trombone, Napoleon Murphy Brock on tenor sax and lead vocals, Terry Bozzio on drums, Tom Fowler on bass, Denny Walley on slide, George Duke on keyboards, Captain Beefheart on vocals and soprano sax and madness. Thank you very much for coming to the concert tonight. Hope you enjoyed it. Goodnight Austin, Texas, wherever you are!*
I met Tom when he first joined the band It's a beautiful day who I had known and been roommates with since they first moved to San Francisco in the '60s. Tom was a great guy and an excellent musician. He will be missed 🙏❤️🙏
I wish Frank got Tom to play, along with his other two brothers, on the '88 tour. Two reasons: To have the three Fowlers together again since ROXY & Elsewhere and because if he was on the tour playing bass instead of Scott Thunes - as great as Thunes is - the band may not have imploded before they were to come back for the third leg of the tour, back to the States. They may have done Halloween NY if they stayed together. R.I.P. Tom and condolences to his brothers and family and to all the Mothers fans.

A great bassist, rest well Mr. FOWLER
First knew of him on Jean Luc Ponty's Aurora album way back in the 70s. Then knew he played with Zappa.
