In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/cas...

I was thinking the same thing, but then he did get a dome between those two decisions, which makes block pot a bit harder to use without reliably playing barricade, so I think both of those discards made sense.
@@Starcanum- Ahh good observation! I thought the block pot was moreso an enabler for Body Slam when he grabbed it, but you're right

All right, that much attention to an audience deserves so much respect that even I decided to express it despite being bad at speaking. Anyway. It took Baalor a SINGLE video to notice how some of his viewers don't want to have spoilers in the intro and fix it. That's some serious commitment to quality. Huge respect for this man.
Also, if it crosses someone's mind that I expressed myself alright - it would just mean this is an exceptional case. That's not how it usually goes

@@tyrrelldavey7407 completely agree. I never take dome myself because I’m just not good enough to use it. But on the rare occasion that Baalor takes it the run becomes an incredible learning experience and demonstration of just how well he knows the game.
@@benmoran4exactly. I'm not a pro sts player that has spreadsheets up and everything else so dome is a huge gamble depending on build. If I have alot of block then I'll take it but other then that it's a major pass

Holy heck, I cant't believe Baalor got two Pot of Greeds and two Black Lotuses and two Mox Opals and two Exodias and two Royal Flushes and two-
Body slam was the first thing that I found a way to break on my own. As a beginner, keeping track of how your deck is doing at balancing offense/defense is one of the hardest things to judge, and building around body slam just solves it for you
I use a QoL workshop mod called 'show card type counts' which displays the %age of card types that makes up your current deck (attack/defense/other) on every card reward/ check deck screen. This makes it a lot easier to keep track at a glance, and helps against an over skilled deck going up against that pesky Nob.
I learn so much about the game from these videos. I'm really glad this was a runic dome game, because I get to learn a lot about the attack patterns of different enemies.
Corruption, Feel No Pain, Dark Embrace, and Barricade all in Act 1 is just something else lol
That nemesis fight was absolutely nuts lmao it was just a quick moment but definitely the highlight of the video for me

When the whole run is only an hour, you know there's some ridiculousness, ha. But honestly I know I would totally botch a start with Corruption.
What a rare treat that was. It's an amazing feeling that could only be beat by a 1hp run.

i just recently had a defect run with 5 core surges and 3 biased cognitions, had 2 glaciers, a symbiotic virus and an inserter, got me to A19.

Truly disgusting run! Usually I get disappointed on runic dome runs as I don't know the game well enough to risk enemy intent-less runs, and feel like I can't really learn and improve my game as I normally would from your videos. But this run was so filthy and fun, it didn't really matter.
a 3-cost block card would be Wish if you wish for plated armor !

What mod are you using that shows the % of getting chest, elites, treasure etc..? I tried something similar called unknown chances but my game just crashes when I try to use that one.

It's a challenge he came up with. The challenge is to win the game with 2 instances of each card (including curses) and 1 instance of each relic. Doing that with any card or any relic is called "mastering" the card or relic
Ridiculous deck. It could have gone infinite with top and abacus at the heart by exhuming a burning past, getting rid of the wound, and playing the whole hand, but there just was no need.
Spire too got bad days.

What the enemies were doing didn't matter in this deck though
Like the person above me said, the enemy intents rarely, if ever, change the play lines of a deck like this so being able to see enemy intent or not the run would have been played more or less the same
Besides it’s also a good learning opportunity for people who don’t know the game as well and a nice way for baalor to demonstrate just how experienced he is, as other people have pointed out!
