Point of correction, we're not demanding payment increase. It's the government that has reduced the normal stipend by 91 % with a lame reason of let's live within our means.

What we lack in kenya is governance, we have a very corrupt president, plus his ministers, people with corruption scandals from here to Timbuktu running the government

@Al jazeera English , alot of misinformation here , seems your reporter hasn't understood her assignment, Doctors in kenya are not demanding for an increase in salaries but they are striking because of failure of Kenyan Government to honour 2017 CBA , at the heart of issues including but not limited to :- delayed posting of medical interns , reducing their salaries by 91% from original , lack of employment for doctors , lack of comprehensive medical cover , poor working conditions/environment among others.

Doctor's are not demanding salary increase. The gvt just decided to slash the pay of interns by 90% and failed implement CBA

This isn't really accurate. The government delayed to post interns because they were planning on slashing their salaries by 91% which of course all doctors refused.
That and also the 2017 CBA that wasn't honoured by the government.

Lazy doctors, the doctor's oaths they took doesn't mean anything to them.

The only voice of logic in an ocean of ignorance and selfishness. The people of cannot be held hostage by an agreement that was entered through selfish interests of a few at the expense of millions of poor Kenyans who are footing the bill for a selfish few. It is is true that the interns are being paid 200k, as the CBA agreement they are taking about. while they are still in university, why would be wrong for the government say our economy cannot afford that and will only afford 70K. Senior Clinical Officers in quite reputable private hospitals are being paid 40-60K. Nurses are being paid much much less. Teachers even less. The president is right in refusing to talk to the doctors until they come back to the sense of their calling. The whole civil service salary should and must be drastically brought downward urgently including the president's. Kenyans must stop enslaving other Kenyans
