      This is from the research that I have done... I still plan on making an AAU team, but that will come in time. I am planning on building my own facility which will only add to these costs.

    Well coach, we started the club and we have a practice routine, but we don’t know if it covers everything. Any recommendations? Our current practice routine is
    Early players shoot around
    Warmup
    Dribble series
    Defensive shuffles to free throw line sprint back, shuffle to halfcourt sprint back 5 times
    Three man weave
    Suicide score game
    Run to halfcourt layups(5 each side)
    Run to halfcourt shots(3 each side)
    3 person pass cut replace
    Close out shooting
    Loop shooting(6 each distance=30 total shots)
    UCLA drill
    V cut layup drill
    Screen shooting drill
    In and out crossover shooting drill
    Out cut and shot drill
    Run and gun pickup(14 seconds to score pickup basketball)

    • @bballcoachallen
      @bballcoachallen  5 років тому +2

      looks good, but I would do different drills in each practice or else the practices will get boring and players will not improve after a while. You might be interested in our custom practice plan sessions, here is the link: www.alsbballtraining.ca/Coaching-Services-Membership.php

  • @delan_lan

    Okay, Thank you for the clarification, but I’m still a little lost lol
    We’re trying to make an aau club with 8 teams(10u-17u) and if we charge $25 to try out and $600 for a season, do you think we would have enough to sustain ourselves?

    • @bballcoachallen
      @bballcoachallen  5 років тому +1

      depends on cost of gyms and everything... collect the costs of running practices tournaments and everything and split it between the players ... $600 per player up here in canada would not sustain a team as it costs $700-900 per tournament (5 tournaments) and then $60/hr for a gym which means $120 per practice .... im not too sure what the cost of gym time is where you are

    • @delan_lan
      @delan_lan 5 років тому +1

      Basketball Coach Allen a tournament in Texas is about $300 and gym rentals go from free to $30 and hour

    • @bballcoachallen
      @bballcoachallen  5 років тому +1

      number of hours in gym for practice plus insurance, plus everything else like team registration and tournaments then divide by number of players ... if you list out costs I can do math for you

    • @delan_lan
      @delan_lan 5 років тому +1

      Basketball Coach Allen were going for a level 2 club membership which is $60. Then when we have tryouts each kid is going to pay $20 for early reg and $25 for late or at the door. After that uniform and clothing will cost around $400. We will have 8 teams(10u-17u) for our club and each kid will pay $600-800. We’re planning on playing in 10 tournaments.
      Do you think we’re charging each kid too little or is it enough. We’re also most likely going to be a non profit

    • @bballcoachallen
      @bballcoachallen  5 років тому +1

      uniforms up here in Canada usually cost $200 per player but if you can get a whole team for 400 thats amazing but then again everything is stupid expensive up here in Canada ... 10 tournaments at 700 would cost $7000 I would use tryout costs to cover the gym and team registration fees and the rest for team parties and paying hotel costs for coaches ... then practice costs 2 practices a week at 2 hours each would cost ___________ so without practice gym costs and insurance you would be looking at charging $616 per player not if you have 40 hours of practice at lets say $60 an hour that would cost $2400 which would then add another $200 per player which would then equal $818 per player ... I would round up and say for each player to pay $1000 and then if you dont burn through all the money you device up the remainder between the players at the end of the season

  • @Foe_bubba

    Coach Allen I have few questions? How do I figure out it include travel expenses? I want to play in 10-12 tournaments including nationals.. I need help figuring out prices for that.. how do I get into those adidas, Under Armour and/or Nike tournaments? I want my kids to get the best exposure, i also don’t won’t to be too expensive since it is my first time doing this

    • @bballcoachallen
      @bballcoachallen  4 роки тому +2

      calculate travel expenses by figuring out hotel costs, and fuel mileage for your car for example 5 miles per gallon and your going 500 miles would be 100 gallons of fuel at $2 per gallon would be $200 for fuel. Thats a gas guzzling bad example but I hope it makes sense... for the big tournaments it can be hard, sometimes those are invite only or if you have a couple of big wins you might be allowed in, first year teams dont usually get into big tournament unless you have a big name player or coach on your team. For example I have ran a team one Summer who went to a few big Nike and UA tournaments and we only got in our first year because my status as a youtube coach and my assistant also was a big name coach from a University, we also had 3 of the top 25 players from Canada and we won against a Nike sponsored team before applying for the tournament... I would suggest picking your players first and seeing how well they do against tough competition as you have to remember those tournaments are usually stacked with Top 100 players in the Nation.... I'm not trying to be negative just want you to take small steps as I have made the mistake before trying to take a first year team to a high level and failing. Now those players did learn a lot but it was very de-motivating half way through the season. Its a lot harder trying to motivate a losing team vs motivating a team who started winning a few games and then started winning and losing close games, then by the end if the season building up to tougher competition.
