what an excellent job. you are clear and precise on what you are doing and what needs to be done. i certainly enjoyed it when you said 'lets test just the top bolt first' on loosening the alternator. great camera work too, i could see everything to did clearly. thanks for taking the time to do this video.
I found this quite helpful, but I had my front end loader on, which made it hard for me to get in from the side like you did. So I raised the tractor up with the loaded and loosened those bolts from underneath. Took awhile, but everything came together, and I saved money in the process. Thanks for the tips.
My BX23s fan belt is starting to squeal and this video solved it with a simple adjustment to the tension. God forbid I have to replace that belt any time soon! Thanks!
Clear and right to the point, very good demonstration video. Hoping to get the new belt installed at a remote cabin site this summer. Thank you from Alaska!
Thanks for a very helpful video! I ended up just loosening the alternator bolts and adjusting the alternator to make the belt tighter. Hopefully that will work out for a while. So far. So good.
Great job and great video !!!! You save a lots of money by doing it by yourself !!! and it is a great way to learn and inspect and by proactive on maintenance for your investment !!! Keep up the good work Cheers !!!
Thanks Shel! Only had 270 hours on it. Seems very low to me. Maybe the belt was defective? We'll see how this gates belt holds up! Thanks for watching!
Haha not a bad idea at all bud! to be honest i wouldn't have thought the oem one would have went after only 300hrs. Maybe it was defective? Kind of makes me not so upset that I got a gates belt after all. Have a good one
@@Tyler_Koehn All companies out source parts and I am sure their is a better belt them O E M. I work with belts on motors up to 150Hp and I have seen belts last days versus months only difference manufacturer belt ratings the same.
Nice job, the real question is why would Kubota make something as simple as replacing a fan belt so hard. An electric fan would work well and so much easier to work on. Electric fans have been proven to be very reliable and cost effective.
Well, got the belt on but it turns out the bearing on the alternator is seized, which explains why the damn thing broke in the first place. Time for a new alternator too lol. Folks, make sure you check that too haha

Very good video how many hours did the factory belt last?

mine showed just over 300 hours before it let go. Have found a few OEM parts to have short lives on the Kubota so far unfortunately.
Tyler, do you feel like that was the right belt for the job now that its been there for a while?
@Disaster1971 it's still on there:)
That's what I'll order then!
@@Disaster1971 good deal!

it drives the water pump and altenator as well
@@Technical5tuff It should never go around the drive shaft the way it does. That is just poor engineering.
