Software engineering has changed a lot after covid time. Initially before covid, most of the people were in the range of 3-7. When covid pickup, everyone got placed. Even if the dog could had barked in c+++/java at that time, he could have got 10 lpa. That time was the best. Extremely low iq candidates got selected. Companies were paying like ki applicants bhandara mein aye hon. After 2022 everything changed. Ai hype came. Obviously many jobs will going to be obsolete. But the covid era hiring will never come. Also, the hiring will reduce significantly. Factors like gender diversity, jaan pehchaan waali cheezein rhengi. And the only sufferer are middle class boys. I dont know where we are heading towards. But the future will be very brutal for boys.
Gender diversity is prevalent only in india, while its pretty much the exception abroad. Middle class boys should just migrate to other countries like UK,germany, the gulf etc. The indian government is pretty much at fault here, since they made hiring female workers cheaper than male.

One of The Best Video. No... Actually this is the Best Video It's like Striver cover up all the doubts this person never leave a single doubt whether it comes to DSA or career.
Hey Striver, You're absolutely right about the MS Option. I received an offer from Illinois Institute of Technology but decided to hold back. It's true that the Tech is doomed, but I'd would still prefer to take a modest job rather than burden myself with a substantial loan and that I might struggle to repay.
One more reason is many students are opting CSE just for craze and money. Colleges are introducing irrelevant branches related to CS just to intake more students. Like Thapar introduced three branches, AI, DATA SCIENCE, and the most interesting one - Civil with computer applications. Thank god, they shut down this branch this year.
The main reason of not hiring is first ofcourse the recession and after if someone lag in any one of these projects, Apti, DSA chances of being selected become very less. If you're going to post any job opening related to full stack you'll get thousands of applications but when youre going to judge based on DSA and project most of the people will lagging behind only 30 to 40 people will qualified for the role.
I don't know what's the problem going on.Basically some mncs are literally now asking for above 70% throughout academics and no education gap or a maximum of 1-2yrs and a lot of skills. So now it is becoming to impossible to secure a job in mnc as fresher right now
See its very easy to discuss on these things for them who have something to look upon and work on like people who are currently working on higher positions but its really hard and getting harder day by day for freshers, I am one among those too, I have got an offer from on-campus placement but still no joining is annonunced yet instead they are increasing the criterias for selection although I have been considered from the college perspective as placed but companies are in their own world. It will be a good solution if the people who are at higher positions in the company should conduct meetings, should talk internally regarding such issues so that if they are hiring then it should be fair enough else they should totally stop hiring . At least dont hang us in between. I am not in hatred towards this video rather I respect striver so much as he is a hardworking person but its a request to start looking on matters based on solution oriented approach.
Bruh same here.. When I got an on campus placement, I felt so happy that I thought I will just focus on my final exams for now, and continue with usual upskilling . I hate the fact that most companies just come for namesake in our placement, and moreover the TPO does not care about our concerns, and if we are not getting any response from company. I didn't even mind starting low with 6.5L, as long as i got into tech. But only if companies were more transparent beforehand about wh they are interested in actually hiring us or not, atleast it would be easier on our side as to what to plan next.

I will entirely disagree on that part, where u said it's similar to 2016-2019 phase , cuz at that time also at that time placements were really good also the most important thing at that time was that the company didn't expect the freshers to be having knowledge of mid- senior level developer , ik the resources are there but they the resources only increased majorly in dsa and if we consider web development then in that also , but still learning from resources isn't enough, someone just developing a project from a tutorial worths almost nothing cuz the actual learning will only be there when the freshers will be trained within the industry but the thing is no company wanna train they just wanna hire who already have all the knowledge. The market has become the casino where freshers need to gamble their luck.

Software engineering remains a high-paying career in India and was even so before 2022. Companies are still hiring, and decent companies (PAYU, MMT) are offering base salaries of 20+ LPA BASE to senior developers. FANG-level companies(Intuit etc) are offering 25+ LPA to senior developers. While the number of hiring has returned to pre-2022 levels, earning 20-30 LPA as a senior developer with 3+ years of experience is still significant. From my perspective, 30 LPA as base pay is a substantial amount, especially for someone with less than five years in their career.

So now it is becoming to impossible to secure a job in mnc as fresher right now
tbh, i see oppurtunities . . . lot of hiring is going on in big tech and startups. its just that many might need over the top skills
they're called ghost postings

Crux of the matter is that software engineering is not a high paying career path in India. What we experienced around 2022 was a bubble.
