John said "sweet!" after you spoke about the chicken salad and I got really excited as I thought he was going to tell me what I can eat that's sweet :( turns out he was just saying how great the salad was haha
Tanya it's natural to crave sugar - check out Freelee and Durianrider here on UA-cam who eat unlimited calories from sugar and they're super lean! Amazing books are 80/10/10 by Dr G Graham
Hi Lean Machines, Ive been subscribed since the first week you started. Week in week out your videos are fantastic. You have changed my outlook on life and I have never been fitter. Im 18 Y/O. Thanks to you I went from being overweight and unfit, to being much fitter, much less body fat, and a changed person. I have been to the gym every week for the last 2 years! My goal this year is to get a six pack! Thanks so much. You have changed my life for the better!
A quick tip for all of those saying they don't have enough time for breakfast in the morning, set your alarm earlier! If I can get up at 4am and fit everything, including breakfast, in before 5am when I leave to cycle 6 miles in the freezing, windy, rainy Scottish weather, so can you!
It's not bad to drink smoothies, as long as you've made them yourself. It is a great source of vitamins and you can replace a meal with it if it's big enough. Of course, you should try to limit the amount of sugary fruits, like bananas, mangoes and dried fruit. And go for more sour fruits.
The good thing is these guys are such good role models of realistic goals for transforming your body, unlike celebrities who go through months of hard training and horrible dieting that we see in movies, believing that they look normal. These guys show us how to enjoy food, workouts that are fun and be generally happy. I just think these guys are so good to look up to
Hi. I found your channel from watching pixiwoo, and I'm so impressed with your no nonsense approach to health. I have been overweight most of my life and now am making changes to my lifestyle. I appreciate the free information it truly makes a difference. Thanks from America!
You 2 would make an awesome comedy duo. I love your videos. So informative and to the point. You remind people to use their common sense when it comes to healthy eating and living. A lot of people these days seem to have lost the ability to make good choices for themselfes.
This is what I eat breakfast: 4 eggs with chopped vegetables (onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, spinach) I mix chicken or turkey ham in there. A cup of oatmeal and coffee. Then I snack 2-3 hours later (apple & banana) lunch: brown rice, chicken breast, black beans, broccoli and water then I snack again and for dinner steak or salmon with vegetables and a salad. It gets a bit boring but it's worth it.
"the devil in a pot" that cracked me up hahaha! thank you so much for this video boys, it's very helpful because i'm always struggling with this decision of eating since i started working out and just being healthy. please keep the videos coming, i'll sure be waiting for each of them! hugs!! theo
On my ideal day my meals tend to be as follows: Breakfast - Eggs, Lunch: Spinach and turkey breast, Dinner Bean chilli (Sometimes containing turkey mince) Throughout the day I drink a whole load of water, and if I've got enough milk in I guzzle that too :) No fizzy drinks, No caffeine.
So helpful, I tend to start the day with porridge, but thanks for the variants, I've been using a food diary app and completely agree you eating rubbish will fill up your calories but leave you hungry
love this! and agree with you guys!! we start our day with a lot of healthy fats (mainly from coconut oil) and protein. gives us so much energy to start our day, love it!
I'm a high carb vegan. I eat tons of fruit (about 1000 calories from fruit a day), and tons of white rice and other carbs. I went veg about a month ago, and I got a six pack soon after from moderate training. I completely disagree that sugar and refined carbs are bad. Protein is absolutely not what you should be focusing on if you are fat and looking to get lean; focus on clean things. Also, the diet you guys suggest has so much cholesterol and saturated fat I want to shriek. If you want to be ripped, but not legitimately healthy, eat what they eat. If you want to be ripped and still able to run 5 miles without dying, go veg.
CatfishCameras Good for you, if it works for you great! Saturated fat is the primary creator of cholesterol and thus your primary sex hormones in the body, if you don't want to become ammenorahic you need it. Cholesterol is not bad for you, inflammation is the issue. Your body actually keeps a very tight balance on cholesterol levels to stay at homeostasis, if you eat more in your diet your liver will simply produce less.
I love this! Made me laugh and informative (although I have never eaten a ready meal) I do have a weakness for those fruit juices! I would also be hangry too! Gonna watch some more now!
Very informative and fun to watch as with all of your videos!! You guys have given us great ideas for making smoothies, thanks! What about juicing before or after workouts or in-between meals? You did videos with Kale, carrots and apples for example. If you juiced ingredients like those and added whey protein, vanilla something mild...Would you still get the desired effect? In your opinion is one more nutritious than the other? Smoothies Vs. Juicing?
My breakfast (after fasted cardio) is Greek yogurt, berries, oat bran and flax seed :) I eat carbs after I work out (sweet potato fries) and then I'd love to say I eat clean... But I haven't this week. Starting tomorrow though I'll get my dinner in order... No more sweets.. No more biscuits or chocolate.
Loving the ol tesco products aha Here's a question how do you get rid of sugar cravings in the evening :/ ? I eat pretty good all day an it hits evening bam! Craving
So I have a salad dressing recipe that some people might like that internet said was healthy but would love to know if you guys agree.. It has officially become my favorite salad dressing, its an avocado vinaigrette. Super easy to make you just take one avocado smash it up with a dash of salt and pepper, garlic and onion powder and some cayenne, 3 tablespoons vinegar (choose either red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar, or apple cider vinegar) and 1/2 cup to 1 cup of olive oil depending on preference (I like only 1/2 cup to keep it creamy), i put it it with some spinach, romaine, chicken or turkey breast and some quinoa, its so good and im always full afterwards. I just want to say I really love your guys channel!! I found you when researching how to do a bur-pee and love it. To date Ive lost 80 pounds down to a deece 185, Ive kind of hit that plateau stage you talk about and needed to switch things up and found this dressing recipe to replace those unhealthy ones ive been eating. Thanks for everything guys, you really do help. Love from America!
Great video! I find it strange though that when I ate like this I couldnt digest the food and felt terrible. I just recently started following a vegan diet high in fruits and vegetables and I've never felt better and I've lost weight. I guess it varies from person to person and I believe people should listen to their body when they change their eating habits
Hey there lean machine! First of, DaveyWavey made me check your channel and I subscribe right away. so far I enjoyed every bit of your awesome videos about fitness. Thanks for all great information and keep up your great work. More power to both of ya!! 👊🇬🇧
What is your opinion on plain weetabix with almond milk for breakfast and an apple? Can I suggest adding a handful of roasted chickpeas to salads too - I got this idea from Gwyneth Paltrows book and it is brilliant for filling you up. I sprinkle them with paprika or black pepper and they are delicious!
I'm loving all of these new videos! I find the food talks really interesting - hope there is more to come ;) I was wondering if you could do a similar video but take a step back and tell us, generally speaking, what we should be eating weekly? Something along the lines of if I were to go on my weekly grocery shop how much fish should I get in comparison to red meat or fruits compared to vegetables etc? I'm soon off to Uni and will have to take care of myself :S I love cooking and baking but want to make healthy choices :) Thank you and keep doin what you do :D
Think about most students though... Most students have between £10 and £20 a week. Take away the alcohol allowance. I will say I'm not a typical student, especially as my boyfriend is on a sports fitness course and training to be a PT. I'm trying and you guys help both me and my boyfriend. Keep it up!!!!!!
Got a challenge for you both: I currently have severe vertigo and have had it for 4 months (no gym, no running :'( which I hate and miss) and my only exercise is stumbling around my living room or up and down stairs (which is currently exhausting) I've put on about 2 stone through inactivity (moving my head makes me feel like the world's flipped upside down) and don't know how to lose weight now. I eat healthily - currently barely eating due to nausea, ginger biscuits are brilliant but not healthy - but I cannot eat dairy or fish (allergies = rubbish) - when I do eat it is purely to take medication as I don't feel very hungry and have a lot smaller portions. I drink water and lots of it, some watered down fruit juice or homemade veg juice (with pulp!) and will eat any veggy, legume, fruit etc and I have almond milk. Any help on exercises and food changes would be great - I have my own weights and have tried using these whilst sitting. Or should I just give up and rest and work my butt off when I can finally get back to the gym?
Fantastic advice fellas. Awesome. The current generation has a really low life expectancy due to packaged food. Don't read the label! How about food without a label!!! The best advice ever!!!!!!
what about sugars from fruit? what is the daily allowance of natural sugar? And how many fruits should we be eating per day for a quite active lifestyle?
Hey guys, love your videos and i try and follow a similar healthy diet to what you mention here (eggs for brekki, chicken salad for lunch, and meat and veg for dinner) my problem is snacking!!!! Can you give me some healthy snack ideas or better still do a video on it 😜
Hi guys, your videos are awesome! Question about breakfast. What is your opinion about having oatflakes together with protein powder and milk firts thing in the morning? Will this be a good approach? Your videos and the information you provide are excellent!
Hi you guys are awesome really like your vids. Just a quicky. Maybe look into moving the camera around a bit more then just standing there. Also very happy to c shirts on so many of these vids on UA-cam for working out or loosing wait ppl have there shirts off. Don't know why. Although u guys r really hot with them off it is great to c u don't have to show off so much. Could you maybe do more on veg diets and swimming plans. Please
This was a great video and it definitely answered most of my questions about what are the best things to eat for breakfast. I am always hungry in the morning and need a filling breakfast to get me through the day would you say that something like Special K is good or bad and what about something like porridge?
Sugar, the mother of all evil! I used to eat cruesli and other crap for breakfast but not anymore. Working out three days a week and I make consious choices about my food now. My goal is to enter a figure contest which is held in about ten months from now. Thanks for the videos guys! I also watch Carly's chanel ofcourse :)
You guys are so great! I work out hard for an hour each day around 11am, when should I eat my carbs? Porridge or smoothie breakfast? All so confusing! Thanks guys.
Is there any easy way of keeping cost down? Eating healthy can be so expensive, some people can't afford chicken breasts or steak everyday, it's just far too easy and cheap to pop to the shop for a £1 sausage roll at lunch times. Your videos are really helpful, cheers!
+TheLeanMachines well i live in Canada and food is at least twice as expansive as anywhere in Europe, specially fruits and vegetable, when half decent for half the year, what should I eat, meat is so expansive, so out of question on an everyday, maybe once werk and fish is only from china and questionable in quality what kind of option do I have? this is really puzzling.
I have eggs and coffee for breakfast, banana and biscuit for 10 o'clock break, either a salad or homemade sandwich (I hate shop bought ones) for lunch followed buy a portion of full fat cheese, 3pm break is grapes and dinner is almost always homemade from 'real' ingredient. Other than my one (maybe two) cup of coffee I drink good old water. My question though is, in a previous video you talked about fat and how it's best to go full fat. I preffer semi-skimmed milk and low-fat cottage cream. If I eat full fat everything else, will the odd thing make too much difference?
Do you have any suggestions of healthy snacks.? I train 3 times a week and eat chicken, fish, eggs, green veg etc for main meals but wanted to find healthy snack. I would mostly choose nuts or natural yogurt with protein mixed in but am concerned with the sugar in the yogurt. Otherwise I'd eat a rice cake with some peanut butter. Any other ideas?
Baked beans and eggs any good for breakfast? The baked beans would have around 13g sugar, 1.3g salt, 1.1g fat or so, would you recommend that and eggs and toast or not?
I am a cross country runner, soccer player, and track runner. All these require a great amount of energy, and I was wondering what your recommended diet plan should be to keep up with all these practices and matches. Should i go with the advice in the video and do i have to intake around 2000 calories each day?
very helpful! i already knew a lot, but it's still nice to see! i do wonder about fruit sugars, are they bad for you? i eat a lot of fruit every day (more than the recommended 2 or 3 pieces) but i know it contains a lot of sugar, but since it's natural, is it okay to eat? i enjoy eating it a lot more than biscuits/cookies/bad stuff~
I never had to worry about my weight until having a child a couple of years back - now what ever I eat, even when trying to watch what I'm eating, I'm just not shifting the left over weight. Have you got any tips for just starting out? All of these videos are going straight over my head xD I'm always being told that sleep makes a lot of difference too - is this true? He's almost 3 and still has never slept through the night, so you can imagine how sleep deprived I am xD
It's all good what you're saying lads, but the alternatives you're suggesting are a hell of a lot more expensive and less easily accessible than the first options, I would say this is the only reason I fail to eat these sorts of food, how can you help with this?
I'm 15 years old and would say I'm quite thin. My aim is not to get ripped, but tone up and add muscle. Could you recommend any exercises to do at home with dumbbells and any good foods to eat to add muscle. Cheers Guys.
when you speak of sugar, do you mean the industrial sugar? the stuff you buy at the supermarkt and only that? or do you include the sugar from fruits as well?
I have a question: if I eat "clean", should I really care about the fact that I don't eat many calories? I'm asking this question because I'm gaining weight (and trust me, I see my love handles expanding, so unfortunately it's not all muscle even though I'm training pretty hard) since I started eating more (even though I'm only hitting the recommended 1200 kcals...). I eat protein, fat, carbs like brown rice... Maybe I should limit my carbs to fruit and veg? I was slimmer eating less with a cheat meal a week (a pizza, nothing crazy) than now eating more without anything bad in my diet at all. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
What is your opinion on Shredded Wheat (original)? I usually eat that for breakfast along with a banana and I find it works for me as I don't get hungry that quickly like I would with Bran Flakes etc. I've swapped my diet over as I used to eat a lot of rubbish, so have cut out fizzy drinks, junk food, sweets/chocolates. I've been eating more fruits, salads and veg with fish, chicken and drinking more water, lemon juice in water and green tea. It's only been 6 days but I do feel better as in I don't feel sluggish any more and feel a bit more energetic. The only exercise I'm doing at the moment is walking for 30 mins a day and then I will start to increase it and then move on to other exercises. I just wanted to ask how many eggs are we normally meant to eat in a week and is boiled better than scrambled, fried, poached etc? Thanks :)
i really wish i could change how i eat but im such a fuss when it comes to food. :/ as i know i eat a lot of crap when im attending college as i eat out every lunch
I noticed you don't mention fruit as much. I switched my breakfast from cereal to fruit, nuts and yoghurt, sometimes I even include an egg. Is that still too much sugar ?
Sadly all those items you showed in the video not to eat, the only reason I get them is because there cheap :( I try buy fruit but and veg but costs so much. I can buy at ASDA or where ever a packet of 6 mars bars for £1 or a packet of 8 crisps for just over a pound. All the junk food is so cheap these days and healthy food that isn't in packages costs a bomb.
I'm a pescetarian and sometimes I have trouble finding healthy things to eat at home. Mostly I end up eating a lot of pasta & carbs. Do you have any suggestions on what kinds of meals I could make that are quick and easy?
I'm vegetarian, obviously there is quorn which can substitute meat but what would you recommend that is an alternative, that is full of protein? For a healthy diet, what kind of snacks should I be eating?
John said "sweet!" after you spoke about the chicken salad and I got really excited as I thought he was going to tell me what I can eat that's sweet :( turns out he was just saying how great the salad was haha
Hahaha sorry Tanya :)
TheLeanMachines hi
Tanya it's natural to crave sugar - check out Freelee and Durianrider here on UA-cam who eat unlimited calories from sugar and they're super lean! Amazing books are 80/10/10 by Dr G Graham
Hi Lean Machines, Ive been subscribed since the first week you started. Week in week out your videos are fantastic. You have changed my outlook on life and I have never been fitter. Im 18 Y/O. I really appreciate what John and Leon are doing. Thanks for making a healthy lifestyle seem simple and approachable.
Hi. I found your channel from watching pixiwoo, and I'm so impressed with your no nonsense approach to health. I have been overweight most of my life and now am making changes to my lifestyle. I appreciate the free information it truly makes a difference. Thanks from America!
No worries thanks for watching!
You 2 would make an awesome comedy duo.
I love your videos. So informative and to the point. You remind people to use their common sense when it comes to healthy eating and living. A lot of people these days seem to have lost the ability to make good choices for themselfes.

This video is perfect! So many more people need to know about good nutrition. Happy to say you guys have taught me a thing or two as well :)
I agree with cooking being therapeutic!! You guys are incredible and inspiring keep it up!! :)
would you recommend these ready to eat packaged chicken slices that tesco and sainsbury's sell?
No it's most likely going to be processed and poor quality chicken, if a budget is a issue and you cannot buy better sourced chicken then possibly.
TheLeanMachines Thank you! I'm asking because I am a university student and it is hard for me to cook :)
On my ideal day my meals tend to be as follows: Breakfast - Eggs, Lunch: Spinach and turkey breast, Dinner Bean chilli (Sometimes containing turkey mince)

So helpful, I tend to start the day with porridge, but thanks for the variants, I've been using a food diary app and completely agree you eating rubbish will fill up your calories but leave you hungry
Its my 30th Birthday today! Wish me a happy birthday! LOL And its because of you guys, that I'm gonna get back in the game soon! :DDD
Happy BIRTHDAY!
TheLeanMachines
YAY! :) My life is complete :)))
bahaha trying REALLY hard to concentrate on the information but getting distracted and laughing at Leon...not hard to imagine him as a child
You guys are awesome

Ohh so syked about this video! I was about to tweet you fellas asking about breaky and lunch ideas!
I can't get enough of your accents and Leon you are so silly and I love it!
You guys should do some videos of your full days of eating and how to prep for that. Lead by example yall! :)
Loved this video, great to see some UA-camrs who reply to comments as well :P Thank you for being inspirational as ever :)

Good video! I know what I should and shouldn't be eating but something's you do forget so it was a nice reminder
I only eat 1200 cals a day and mostly a vegetarian based diet and of course I run about 2 miles every other day and do strength training.
I just watch these videos for you guys you're adorable and hilarious lol
Got a challenge for you both:
I currently have severe vertigo and have had it for 4 months (no gym, no running :'( which I hate and miss) and my only exercise is stumbling around my living room or up and down stairs (which is currently exhausting)

Or should I just give up and rest and work my butt off when I can finally get back to the gym?

Eating my salad, with avocado; -) watching you guys giving advices; brilliant:-D
AWESOME!
Love this video learn so much from it. Thanks.
Hi guys, your videos are awesome! Question about breakfast. What is your opinion about having oatflakes together with protein powder and milk firts thing in the morning? Will this be a good approach?

This was a great video and it definitely answered most of my questions about what are the best things to eat for breakfast. You guys are so great!
I work out hard for an hour each day around 11am, when should I eat my carbs? Porridge or smoothie breakfast? All so confusing! Thanks guys.
What kind of nuts do you use for the greek yogurt and blueberry breakfast?
Is there any easy way of keeping cost down? Eating healthy can be so expensive, some people can't afford chicken breasts or steak everyday, it's just far too easy and cheap to pop to the shop for a £1 sausage roll at lunch times. Your videos are really helpful, cheers!
The best way is to buy in bulk and frozen as well if possible, especially with vegetables.
Awesome workouts u told us thank you.
Could you do a video for healthy vegetarian/vegans meals for lunch and dinner please?!
What would you 'snack' on? I like organic rice cakes or seed/nut mix
Could you do a video on how to get rid of bingo wings/tone up arms? :) x
And thanks for the tips!
Great video guys. Quick question: what're your views on protein bar consumption?
Really good video, thanks guys
Do you have any suggestions of healthy snacks.? I train 3 times a week and eat chicken, fish, eggs, green veg etc for main meals but wanted to find healthy snack. I would mostly choose nuts or natural yogurt with protein mixed in but am concerned with the sugar in the yogurt. Otherwise I'd eat a rice cake with some peanut butter. Any other ideas?
Baked beans and eggs any good for breakfast? The baked beans would have around 13g sugar, 1.3g salt, 1.1g fat or so, would you recommend that and eggs and toast or not?
Great video guys
What about salad dressings? Do you have your salads plain? Are the low fat versions ok?
So useful. Thanks
What do you think about fruit & fibre cereal or muesli with yoghurt?
You guys rock
Nutrition is definitely where I struggle with most.
Claire Hales your not the only one, just learn the basics and change one thing at a time.
I never had to worry about my weight until having a child a couple of years back - now what ever I eat, even when trying to watch what I'm eating, I'm just not shifting the left over weight.
Have you got any tips for just starting out? All of these videos are going straight over my head xD
I'm always being told that sleep makes a lot of difference too - is this true? He's almost 3 and still has never slept through the night, so you can imagine how sleep deprived I am xD
It's all good what you're saying lads, but the alternatives you're suggesting are a hell of a lot more expensive and less easily accessible than the first options, I would say this is the only reason I fail to eat these sorts of food, how can you help with this?
I'm 15 years old and would say I'm quite thin. My aim is not to get ripped, but tone up and add muscle. Could you recommend any exercises to do at home with dumbbells and any good foods to eat to add muscle. Cheers Guys.
Great video! 👍
when you speak of sugar, do you mean the industrial sugar? the stuff you buy at the supermarkt and only that? or do you include the sugar from fruits as well?
How do you have the time to buy all the food and cook and prepare it all and still be able to do everything else!?
Thanks :)
I was wondering how I choose the best protein powder. For instance where is the best protein powder derived from?
Thanks for this video!
i really wish i could change how i eat but im such a fuss when it comes to food.
Is scrambled egg on toast an ok breakfast for the morning?
can you make a video about healthy snacks?! I really love chips, but its like the worst thing ever for your body :c
Is 2 eggs and some bacon a good breakfast? Should I drink water or milk in the morning?
+Eternal Damnation no the body needs the calcium in milk 😑
What about eggs? I eat 2-3 a morning.....w/ a few slices of bacon.
