Another lovely day in the Lake District. Possibly my favourite walk is the Mosedale Horseshoe, but didn’t realise that the path off Yewbarrow summit avoiding the Bull Crag/ Bell Rib section was so doable . Well done Matt and Dom , been loving your stuff and just about to watch your completion vid . Thanks for sharing mate. 🙏🙏
Wild camped this a couple of nights back. I went the other way and did yewbarrow, red pike, Haycock, caw fell, Scoat fell (camp), steeple, pillar then Kirk fell..... brilliant route but challenging in places. I avoided the nose of Kirk fell for exactly the reasons you highlighted. Looks so tough. Your videos are class for routing mate, thank you 🙂 Adge
I can imagine you seen some sights wild camping on this route mate, absolutely fantastic, as you say though mate if you avoid kirk fells nose its a lot easier on the legs, thanks for watching pal 👌
Tough walk yesterday. Kirk Fell up the nose is a challenge. I downloaded your exact route and it was soooo much better than a Stuart Marshall special. Only slight issue was going towards Yewbarrow it took me along the side without much of a path. Up to 161 now mate. Thanks for the help
Hardest walk I thought out of all the ones I've done mate, Kirk fells isn't a fun start to the day 🙃 oh yeah mate we went off track a couple of times when we weren't taking any notice 😂😂 no problem mate 👍👍
Hi Matt - we did your exact route a few weeks ago - was excellent- particularly the Yewbarrow ascent & descent. Tough walk and we had poor conditions but your guidance really helped so thanks! (My 13 year did a YT video at ‘LoisTravels’ )… keep ‘em coming!!
Hi mate, this was one of my favorite routes on the wainwrights apart from Kirk Fella assent, absolute leg burner 🙃 just watched her videos and they are great mate, she speaks brilliant on camera for a kid, took me ages to get used to it, always good to look back on the videos and hopefully she keeps it going long term 👌
its a tougher walk than both the other 2 ide say, kirk fell is the worse ascent on all of the wainwrights for me 😅 Yewbarrow can be avoided but worth having a look if your close by 👌
Thanks!
Thanks a lot 😎

Thank you mate, brilliant route this one, definitely one of the best 👌 looking at the gps as well there are a lot of different ways it can be done 🤙
Looks a hard one in places but amazing. Defo on my to do list 🙌
Well worth it in the end Garry and as I mentioned in the video you could always tweak the route rather than going up that slog at the start 😂👌
Great video thanks Matt - we’ll be doing your route in August 👍
One of the best routes mate, absolutely fantastic, enjoy and good luck 👌👍

@@MattDoesMountains Awesome - thanks Matt and for the comment! 👊
Did this Saturday such a great route
Boss mate, really enjoyed it in the end and will definitely return but maybe take some different paths 👌
Awesome footage , I did this same route as my very first hike up Kirk fell, just earlier this month, ascent/ descent same route, very hard going.
Definitely one of the toughest Wainwright routes I've done for.sure,.Kirk fell wakes the legs up first thing in the morning 😅
Great video, full of practical advice on where to park, which route to take and what hazards you might encounter 👍
Thanks mate, always tried to include as much information as possible 🤙🤙🤙
How does this compare to the Fairfield and coledale horse shoe? I think il leave yewbarrow out if I do this 😂

40 percent for a mile up kirkfell. Anti clockwise is definitely the better way round this one.
Yeah probably be a bit easier, tough route overall depending on how fit people are but one of the best in the lakes also 👌👌
