- Player vs Coach Serve Battle #tennis
With Felix back home for a training block, things always get a little competitive 😅 In this session he challenged me to a serve accuracy battle… high stakes with 30 push ups on the line!

You guys were hitting some big serves there. The spin and action you guys were getting was hugely impressive.
And Felix's serve has beefed up a lot this year. His first serve must be in the 110mph to 115+mph range now.
Great video guys👍
Thanks Grant… he clocked one at 129 this week 😳
@@TheTennisMentor wow that's very big serving! Looking at the video, I can see he was serving bombs!
Having a big serve definitely helps holding serve and winning matches a lot easier!
Love the camera angle, it really shows the pace and spin - I would have no hope of getting them back!
I reckon you’d get mine back… much easier to read!!😁
not on the add court
This is some beast serving - ball action is excellent.
Seeing from these angles shows what amazing serves these are, whether or not the targets are hit
Thanks Pete!
bend or streched right arm in double handed bachand in tennis for me is more comfortable to be bend. But my couch tells me that it must be streched.I need an advice
Great form on the serves! Pushups, not so much haha.
😆😆
Was pumped up after seeing your serves but then reality hitted me hard when i saw that other guy serving😂😂😂 7:26
Im an amateur and i can hit targets better than these two😂
😂😂😭
If you call and hit another colour. You shouldn't get a point. It kills the purpose of calling.
Agreed… but, the rule worked well for me 🤣
Push up game soft, serve game 💪
You guys are a dream team.
Want to see you on court 18 by 2024 Felix.
Let’s goooo 💪💪
Hi, i love your channel so much! When will your next video be out?
It’s out now!
Nice to be back home for a while I’m sure. I can’t imagine the stress of of being away from all that is familiar for so many weeks on end. Time to rejuvenate.
Absolutely 🙏
I recently saw video which had "never double fault ever again" in its title. This is certainly more real. Lots of misses. I'd like to see four foot squares in a 1,2,3 where they have to call out the square they'll hit, or better yet, specific sequences. Hits = 1 point, misses = -1. Play to 20.
heyy Ashley! Are you using the Speed Pro? Any customization? Strings and tension? thanks
No real customisation (just matched) and using Head Lynx at 52lbs
@@TheTennisMentor thanks! I love my Speed Pro. I've been playing with strings and tension...currently with Tour Bite @ 54lbs. its a little bit stiff and low powered but pretty good for spin👍
I’m going to try that!
I'll be very happy to do any of these serves!
Love you guys a lot, this is so cool and wholesome too haha
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!!
LMAO
Impressive spin on the serve! Can you give us some instructions on how to produce such a spin on the serve? Thank you in advance!
Is this taken at the Avenue Club in Havant?
Yes
I’m a junior and my first serve decent but I slice it accidentally constantly, is there any solutions you would recommend to fix this problem?
You’re not alone… practice your serve more on the ad side and it will help you to develop pronation to flatten out your serves.
@@TheTennisMentor thank you for the advice.
Most of felix's hits were long too, but he didn't give you that yellow one LOL
Haha… poor cone positioning in my opinion 😉
@@TheTennisMentor hahah maybe but you deserve the yellow one as all of them were not well positioned !
This competitive game aught to be made apart of every major tourney. Perhaps a 10k ,( or some such ) , first prize could be payed out to the winner. Great fun.
Sounds like fun!
What a fun serve battle!
Incredible accuracy! I'm going to try this with some tennis buddies. Loser buys the coffees.
It will be good fun! I prefer coffee to push ups 😄
Ash clutches up!!! Those serves were violent 👌👌
The orange cone at the end of the first set was ultimate clutch 😅
I've been playing for 7 months now and started to have more control on the location. You guys are truly inspiring! The day I can do a friendly competition like this would be a fun day for sure :D
You both serve very well. Fun video!
Thanks John!
Are these first serves? How much slice y'all put on there?
A combination. Slice all day long for me 😅
awesome video! are these hardcourts? or some type of synthetic
These are synthetic grass
Some really good movement on the early serves guys! Really every second or third Serve should hit a cone! Long way to go, but liking the slice technique. As for the Kick Serve well it’s a different action & not at the same level as your slice!
Anyway! I like your Coach- Pupil dynamic, so you are in good Hands 🙌
If you want to Make it on the ATP tour you’ll need to develop an edge, something that is serious. As a Brit it is tougher to harness that compared to some other Countries where life could be tougher growing up, however it can be done.
Wish you all the Best
Nice guys 🎾🎾🎾🎾
Should do this with others more often
Great video, the guy in the other court at 7:26 has the exact same serve motion as me!
Love it!! I’ll let him know he has a serving buddy
You have a real gift for these tennis - specific games Ashley! Brings me back to the Asics video.
Ah thanks! You have a great memory!! I do love a skills challenge 😉
@@TheTennisMentor I would too if I was that accurate 😂
I have started playing tennis but I can’t find anybody to play with is there an app where I can talk to people in my area about playing tennis
Where in the world are you?
@@TheTennisMentor United States Tennnesse
I have tennis pal but I don’t have a whole lot of people in my area
Good luck !
Loving this...
Real fun to watch!
Nice !
This was fun to watch in between work - love the "gamemanship" and just general good attitudes and good vibes ;-)
What strings is felix playing with?
He’s recently experimenting… I’m sure he’ll update you in an upcoming video 👍
which tournament is felix going to next
There are a couple of options… I’m sure you’ll find out in his next video!
Fun watching this competition.
💪🙏
Will you do a video on how to do the slice serve? Both of you have some absolutely nasty curve on them even from that 12 o'clockish toss. Would love to see your swing thoughts and pointers.
Star Tennis academy has a great video with Takao Suzuki on how to hit slices from a 12 o clock toss, definitely worth checking out
FUN! thanks Coach
😄😎
will felix be playing any tennis in sweden?
We need to see felix learn the pancake serve
This is so fun!!!
😁😁
what are the felix`s shoes
I think they’re Nike Air Zoom Vapor Pro 2
@@TheTennisMentor thank you
Wow, that serve battle between the player and coach was intense!
😅😅
Being a coach myself, I had to root for you Ashley! Way to represent!
Thanks Jeff! 😁
Love you guys. Really do. But this was a bit boring tbh ,sorreeee!
Sorry to disappoint this time
Proves that a parallel toss is more accurate.
It doesn't.
Felix is an average club social player. Not ready for futures or going pro.. maybe division 3 in usa colleges
No, you are wrong there. He needs more matchplay, tactics and point construction with more volleys and agressive game. Div 3 college tennis is not even comparable to his level. Everyone struggles on clay, his game is more fast-court orientated. Those serves were high level, i have seen, recieved and served a few in my day.
@@MATTETRUEFACT i can see you are not vgood at it. Felix Backhand wont hurt a fly my friend. You really think he can become a pro? Theres a time he will click and quit. His mind is as weak as 4 year old girl serve.. he aint goin nowhere.
Felix has already won ATP doubles points and has held his own in practice sets against top 100 singles players. He absolutely has the skill and talent to compete in Futures and Challenger events, he just needs to build consistency and to hone his weapons. I don't think we're ever going to see him at the French Open semis or anything but he's absolutely an elite player.
@@LunarEclipsism1 Andres Gomez were at the semis when he was 30, and that age was considered old in the 80-90 ties. Never say never. Nowadays the fittnes level is superb from the players. Its a mind-game also..who wants it most and who can handle rejections and bad matches mentaly. Its building your own game strategy, based on meeting many opponents playing differently. Taking their weaknesses and putting that into play, when the next same opponent, or same style of player comes along. Felix first serve down the line / slice is superb. A good base for point construction.
@@LunarEclipsism1 hahahaha doubles…. He cant even beat my grandma… and the guy thinks he is a pro… hahahaah english sucker
