This is very helpful. I was thinking of playing in two strings and tune those two accordingly. Only challenge is adjusting to the notes on first string to notes on second string which are very different. Huge challenge I would say

Only prob is with veena we will hear our playing in diff pitch when it's transposed..not like keyboard which we can't hear without elec connection..even with ele guitar it's same.. may be it will work well with elec veena which will not produce any sound when played without connection.
@@veenaranjanimahesh Yes, agreed. Perhaps MIDI pickup will help in a session recording scenario where the sound engineer can use pre-recorded veena "voice" of high quality. Don't remember the swaram..just playing keeping lyrics and go by fingering positions. BZ otherwise u won't know where to pluck and which is silent note

Hi Hareni.. thanks for your message.. sorry I don't know if there's any app to convert western to carnatic.. usually carnatic music Swarams corresponds to only one scale which can be applied to all scales. But western notes varies from .scale to scale.

Sorry Beginners will find it difficult. You need to learn some more to understand this. This is just playing from madhyamam.. keeping ma as Sa.. fingerings will be same as playing sarigama from second string..:) hope u get it.

I knew a friend who used a midi pickup for his mandolin and then transposed the sound with a processor to whichever scale he wanted.

For tuning you need to have just musical ears. No one can teach it sadly.. u can use tuning apps if u wish. It might help. :)
