I’ve always been under the impression that he understood English but couldn’t really speak it back then. I’m sorta thinking of that clip of iKON at a radio place where Hanbin’s on the floor holding Jiwon’s hand. He speaks in Korean while Jiwon translates every few sentences. Like, he gave me the impression that he understood.
