Color blind was our second single. It was the A side. the other side was called Mother Nature.Mckinly Williams and kenny young sang background vocals Bug on baritone and kenny on tenor on all of the singles.
We performed Color Blind live on the George Woods show on channel 17 in Phila in 1970, I am trying to locate the video' yours truly Kenny Young formely with Frankie Beverly.
Frankie Beverly and his band, Raw Soul, played every weekend in the early 70's at Ciro's Lounge on Ogontz Av. in Philly, as well as at Up Jump The Devil, another club also in Phillly owned by the same man, Ciro Levay. I know, because I was at Ciro's every weekend just to see Frankie Beverly! I knew back then, he'd be a star!
Cool...I saw you guys perform this in the early 70s...Not sure what the TV program was but I was blown away by the enerfy of the band..I remember the organist tilted his organ during the song...
wasnt hip to it being soo much rare funk out there man Im humbled... Maze uses pieces of this throughout there late catalog especially the "what color" refrain, marvin gaye told them they needed to change the name, I hear some sly funk in there...wow
