I’ve watched a few of your videos now and your genuine honesty is absolutely refreshing…your channel is a proper find !!
Thanks David that’s much appreciated. Just enjoy sharing the process and anything picked up along the way it’s nice to connect with like minded people and get that community feel 😊
Great review Darren, Good look in the races. I have the Akasha, I ran the HM60 and the Tour the Helvellyn in them, great shoe. Any reason for changing from the VJ maxx. I'm thinking of getting the VJ ultra and the La Sportiva Cyklon.
Thanks Mike, the Akasha is nice I just need to work out if it’ll loosen off with use as finding it quite rigid on the harder sessions. As for the Maxx no reason other than I need to find a better option for the hardwolds 40 it doesn’t offer enough support for me at that distance...hoping the Ultra will!
@@DarrenSmithTrailRunning Its a muddy course and can be very muddy in winter.
Darren, what shorts and hydration vest are you using in the video?
Like you, I give a big thumbs up to the La Sportiva Akasha - great shoe for longer distances on nearly all trails.
Hey John, I did like the Akasha but unfortunately they never broke in enough for me, found them just too rigid in the end, which is a shame. As for the shorts I believe they're the Ronhill core split, these are the longer version but I prefer the shorter ones.
@@DarrenSmithTrailRunning Thanks Darren. Will give them a try.
Are they true to size. Or slightly small like HOka shoes?
Hey Paul? That depends on your feet to be fair I found them true to size however they’re a little narrow and rigid…not quite comfortable enough for me in longer stuff so whether that means I needed half size up not sure but think that would have proven too big
@@DarrenSmithTrailRunning thank you for the reply
