Henry Charles Litolff (6 February 1818 - 5 August 1891) was a French and British virtuoso pianist, composer of Romantic music, and music publisher born in London. The famous scherzo from Litolff's Concerto Symphonique No. 4 is a bracing, devilish affair for the piano and a particularly nimble orchestra, and not surprisingly his most famous piece.
