- A Jason Bourne tribute. A big fan of Within Temptation, I heard this song last year when their latest album came out, and this song immediately reminded me of Jason Bourne, one of my favourite silver screen heroes.

The last message in this video. It's true. What makes the Bourne movies so different from other action films is that it's not Propaganda. I feel like most of the time media glorifies police and military and make them infallible. Jason Bourne is a man who put his trust in his government and then learns that they commit war crimes in the name of "freedom".
Torture, Murder, super soldiers given special serums to enhance them etc..and he choose to rebel against his own government in order to do what's right. Even though that cost him his Father and both women he loved. Even his identity. The whole nine. For me he's a symbol of actual Freedom, not the propagandisized version of it we're always fed.

Well said. I think this is why I can rewatch the Bourne movies endlessly but can't really do that with any other action movies that I also enjoy upon first viewing
