- I confess - I have a really squishy spot in my heart for big old homes. I like to look at them. If you do too, this is a good video for you because Lake of the Isles is a gorgeous neighborhood completely full of gracious old homes. At the end of the video I give you my best tip ever. I grew up in the oldest home on Lake of the Isles, 2697 E. Lake of the Isles built in 1887. Then a cop arrested me for taking a nap in the bathroom of Folwell Hall, University of Minnesota. She thought I was homeless and she had no idea I grew up in a mansion. Hilarious.
