This was the perfect song to describe this pairing. It's kinda scary once you think about how well-fitting it is.
Holy crap, I've never thought about it that way but the song fits just perfectly.
It is obvious that Castiel will still love Dean when he is no longer young and beautiful (he's gonna be beautiful when he's old anyways), even when he's got nothing but his aching soul because I'm pretty sure Castiel doesn't even realize how handsome Dean is or that he's attractive from a human point of view. He already does love him although from Castiel's point of view he's got nothing but his aching soul.
