Thank you for the interesting reaction. Here are some answers to your questions.... The video was actually shot in Morocco.... Mahmood calls his genre "Marocco pop". You've got it right: the lyrics are about a gay love between two guys who probably belong to two different social classes. The intro is "Capricio arabe" by Francisco Tarrega, a Spanish composer of classical music of the 19th century.
He`s doing a show with Eden Ben Zaken in Rishon LeTsion on September 3rd and I`ve got a ticket to the Golden circle...I`m so excited !!!! Yay!!!! I think that Soldi was a masterpiece and deserved to win , though it`s apparently one of the most downloaded songs in Eurovision history and has way surpassed Arcade in terms of paid downloads and YT views, even on the official Eurovision site it is consistantly the most watched. It`s also the only song , apart from Spirit In The Sky that I`ve heard playing in the street in Israel since th contest ended. That being said, this is more infectious than Soldi and has over 8 million views after just one week. I love that he sings in Italian but if this was in English I think he`d have one of the biggest hits of the summer on his hands here. Just in case that wasn`t clear... I liked it too .
That's so exciting! I'm sure it will be fantastic! This seems technically less interesting than Soldi, but he's so good at bringing mood to his songs that this really hooks you as well!
@@ToyAndGoy I think that part of it is that, on the surface, his voice doesn't sound so good, but it actually is quite difficult to hit some of those high notes and he has that magical ingredient that makes you feel the emotion without even understanding the words.
Toy, I agree with you, this song is nice but it leaves us waiting for something that looks actually missing in the track. In Italy we use to say: it tasted of too "little" (referred to something that is too nice to be so short). Thanks a lot for your reaction, I was one of the viewers who kindly asked you both to react. Hugs and kisses from Italy :-xxx
Hi Guys, great to see you! I liked your video! As for the song - I especially like the changing rhythms of Mahmood's singing, and the way it resembles speech. I liked that even more in Soldi. BTW, on your last video Toy has mentioned having another channel, in which he has reacted to Morissette. How can we reach this channel?
Please also react to this song: ua-cam.com/video/aFYcISGk-9s/v-deo.html Fallin' rain by Mahmood. This song is from 2013. He is sooo handsome in the video 😊
I'm sorry that you have to preface the video at the beginning that you don't want to offend nesusno etc. and that is just your opinion, in the sense that I say an arctic video or a song you do not like it is right that one expresses it in a civil manner as you do without the need to have to justify why people do not accept your opinion :-(
@@ToyAndGoy But in Italy he is a little criticized because he says that nowadays no need to "coming out".... here the photos with his boyfriend www.spetteguless.it/2019/07/24/mahmood-foto-dario-faini/
I had that thought too, but I guess it didn't bother me enough to remain in my head. I think the fact that they aren't actually showing guns is ok, it's used as percussion to emphasise the music. But, I see you point entirely. He probably has a lot of young fans.
Why? It’s part of the narrative of the song: which tells the story of a guy from a neigborhood with a lot of criminality (therefore the sound of the guns shooting), falling in love with a richer guy... like the guns are contextualized, not just thrown in there
@@sarads7877 I agree. I think the song does not glorify the use of guns, they're part of the story. However, I am aware that the other view could be an issue to some people. Using such a violent image can make some people feel uneasy, but I feel the context of this is ok.
Let us know what you thought about Mahmood - Barrio song.
the best of his songs
Mahmood was also a discovery in Italy because nobody knew him before Sanremo and Eurovision, but now he is one of the most listened to in Italy
The song is in Italian shot in Morocco and with some Spanish Arabic influences
However, Soldi is now the most ESC song streamed of all time.
the real winner

we want him as a Guest in Esc 2020
Intro is Capricho Arabe of Tarrega. Mahmood is a very very very fresh and new thing for Italy and I love him!
