"What a privilege to be a child of diaspora. Marginalized like the rest of them, but too light to be thought to be marginalized like the rest of them." WHEW🔥🔥
This girl is absolutely mesmerizing. The rasp of her voice, her almost bluesy rhythm in the way she rolls out words. We need more people of all colors sharing the parts of themselves that truly matters, instead of being sold the lie that fixating on the superficial is the key to happiness.
When I was younger, when I saw someone who was mixed I thought of it as a sign of hope. Thinking that meant two people of different color were together. Thinking things are better than they used to be. Breaks me to see things like this. I wish the best for anyone who deals with this.
Rachael Pitts lol I thought being half white half Mexican would mean I would be able to have twice as many friends. It just meant that I got 3 times the racism.
+trevor bennett It means lives taken by non blacks matter. With all these shootings in Chicago and other black cities you would think they would be more concerned about that than some cop killing a criminal or jackass.
speechless! So good. But the last few lines - is she reinforcing the notion of “light privilege tears” and agreeing with that? A little confused and curious to see how others interpreted it
