Crazy... the Bradley has targeting computers that let it hit targets 2 miles away with amazing accuracy even when rolling over rough terrain at 40 MPH. I've seen this demo in person at Ft. Benning and it is damn impressive.
I am Infantry in a M2A3 Bradley unit. I can tell you those 25mm rounds are spot on. Speed, elevation or windage doesnt effect the trajectory. The turret sits on Gyros that stabilizes the 25mm and the 7.62X51 ([Coax]NATO .308) round. Natice while mobile the turret maintains target aquasistion. The M2A3 Bradley can travel 40mph while maintaining accuracy. They also have TOW Missiles. Whith the armament of the Bradley they have destroyed more tanks than tanks vs. tanks.
Ahh Fort Benning and Hotex. Nothing like long days on Red Cloud range practicing runs and line ups for a short show to the public. Good old 1-29 INF. Been a while since I have seen or done one of those shows lol. Thanks for the memories. 2001-2004 11M till I got reassigned elsewhere lol. I still remember doing these.
@TuAFFalcon I'm a BC (Bradley Commander), what you're seeing is the M3(new) variant over the old ODS (operation desert storm/m2) variants. Commander's independent viewer, etc. The M113 Gavin isn't faster than the Brad. I drove one my first 3 years in the Army. But yes, it's WAY lighter, because it's straight aluminum, no pig steel and kevlar composite reinforcing. We chewed thru the side of a decommed Gavin with an M60 machine gun from medium range. That's horrible protection.
When I was in A 1/29 they off loaded a squad from the right Bradley and they ran down to a trench on the right hand side and light up some pop up Ivans. Also we had to listen to "Dangerzone" and "Bad-to-the-bone" so many times that I want to blow my brains out every time I hear those now.
@gtamodman122 BMP-2M is almost 0.5m lower, so easier to conceal and harder to hit with low-tech weapons like RPGs or recoiless cannons. It can also float. M2A3 offers impressive protection, up to 30mm AP all around. Most APCs/IFVs, BMP-2M included, is protected only up to .50 cal, It has very sophisticated FCS, similar as M1A2 tanks, and IR sights. It can't float though, as it weights ~30 tons, twice as much as BMP and only 5 tons less than T-55 tank.
I use to work at FMC I did all the machining on the very first Bradley...That was a really cool experiance...Dave Saavadra...RIP.. was my machining partner...
They work in pairs-carrying a squad between them-the TOW missiles will take out most tanks, the chain gun will rip soft vehicles to tinfoil, and the squad had bombardment missiles that will break bunkers. Plus their targeting systems talk to theAbrams' and the air cover- no enemy with a portion of his right mind still behind his forehead wants to get anywhere near one of these.
i love gun sounds, i dont know why, thats who i am, and i wont change... the gun sounds in this vid sound like beautiful music to me, a fucking symphony orchestra of the devil himself
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that song thats being played must be like best song chosen by people who run these sorts of things cos down here in australia we just had the avalon airshow i went amazing day and they had that song :)
Damn it, Bradleys are damn sexy. I'm currently talking to a recruiter about Infantry, but in case I decide otherwise, what MOS does a man need to crew a Bradley?
Hard to say, there are many variables. The Bradley is slightly better armored, and since their main gun are the same for both vehicles, a Bradley would probably kick its ass.
@vietscouty Must be a very open area cuz im used to hearing more boom. lol. Hear it sounds more like poof-poof-poof-poof instead of boom-boom-boom-boom. :-)
I had the pleasure of driving and gunning in one of these for awhile. It was a blast, to say the least. We shot a deer (on a firing range) at about 1300 to 1500 yards away, it was in the middle of the night and my infrared screen lit up, because of all the blood lol.
$80 - $80 - $80 - $80 - $80 - $80.....$80 - $80 - $80 - $80.......$80 - $80 - $80 - $80 - $80 - $80. That's my rent, all my bills, all my food and drink, take away for several days for an entire month. In less than 20 seconds. Lol taxpayers in the US.
Michael Henderson Hey, I wouldn't get too smug. The US basically supplies the whole of Western Europe's defense now that they have token militaries and can't even keep their 2% of GDP NATO funding commitments. No expeditionary capability, no strategic airlift capability, and not even enough precision weapons stockpiled between the lot of you to sustain a low-intensity bombing campaign against a third-rate, failed nationstate in their own backyard for more than a month. Yeah, your little air-war in 2011 was impossible with US ironhand missions (destroying enemy AA, the actual hard work), AWACs, electronic warfare, aerial refueling, and US bombs.
Michael Henderson You’re welcome for compensating with your weak ass armed forces. Have fun waiting 17 weeks for a dermatologist and paying medical expenses
POS...would rather walk to the battlefield like 11B. Can't fire while "buttoned up", no air conditioning, TOW missles have to loaded from the outside. I can go on and on. I hated being in this thing

I was at Benning when I went through 11M training to be a driver. also had some top secret stuff in the bays next door too
I'm an old 19D who went on the fly AH-1 and AH-64s, respect and covered the Bradleys.

They need to integrate drones in the Bradley and Ahbrams for targeting and recon info. That would be bad ass!
we have thoes. their called the raven and it's a dope little rc plane we can dismount and set up
Listen honey... do you hear the woodpeckers this morning? Beautiful!
I'm sold. I'll take one.
I'm just a civilian but thats very impressive and no im not one of those call of duty punks either i just love big guns!
Yea you're right and it was even worst when it rained lol and what company was you in at that time
@gtamodman122

I guess you wouldn't want to piss these guy off.
Man I miss that shit, Blessings.

Hell yeah Red Cloud range! I dont miss Kelley Hill though ha ha!
who would win in a battle? A Bradley or a LAV III?
" say, can you make amphibious?"
@LordHannigan It's already almost done in it's development...
i love gun sounds, i dont know why, thats who i am, and i wont change... the gun sounds in this vid sound like beautiful music to me, a fucking symphony orchestra of the devil himself

Was it loud?
Ah, I miss Table 7!
Hard to say, there are many variables. The Bradley is slightly better armored, and since their main gun are the same for both vehicles, a Bradley would probably kick its ass.
@manictiger
The Bradley has been in use since 2002 when the surge commenced.
sorry, i know its an old thread but you are wrong friend. the bradley has been in use since the 80's
A movie called the Pentagon wars. Watch it! !!
I'm gonna ask a good question now :-P which is better the M2A2/A3 or the BMP-2M?
Miss driving these beasts!
Is thebradley only anti-infantry?
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow imagine teaming up with the abram A1M1sep battle tank in a battle.
@Paduch
I know it's bad, but it is war. DU is bad, but what other alternatives?
I love it those guns firing drowns out the sound of that god-awful music in the background.
it has 2 guns?
@vietscouty Must be a very open area cuz im used to hearing more boom. lol. Hear it sounds more like poof-poof-poof-poof instead of boom-boom-boom-boom. :-)
@petruxa99 isnt the M113 lighter? Like way lighter?
@mrawesometechnoguy
not really, m113s are 35% faster and have half the ground pressure.
I had the pleasure of driving and gunning in one of these for awhile. It was a blast, to say the least. We shot a deer (on a firing range) at about 1300 to 1500 yards away, it was in the middle of the night and my infrared screen lit up, because of all the blood lol.
