I love to see this brand getting some love! I’m 21, recently I inherited my Fathers Ebel Discovery watch. It’s not the most expensive piece, heck it’s not my most expensive piece. But I love it! There’s something about Ebel watches that makes them so special with their in house builds. Price should never justify a watch either, all Ebels I’ve seen, and worn, have been fantastically priced, high quality watches. My Father had great taste.
Great to see Ebel getting some love. I'm actually in discussions with someone about a 1911 Big Date Automatic. They are also thin (2892 based) but not like a quartz of course. I don't think there is enough noise to see them 'rediscovered' to the point values will grow appreciably any time soon. But as a value proposition for something genuinely individual and stylish, they're a bit special I think.
Not so much into watches but I adore the chronograph worn by Don Johnson. Elegant, sporty and looks comfortable to wear from outside. Awesome design. Thanks for this video!
I just bought my Ebel today! I got exposed to the brand a couple decades ago when I just graduated college and an elderly couple I took care of’s wife wore it. I am so excited to have gotten mine. It looks Cartier-ish, but all the quality and less than half the cost. I love the brand’s history, too. They are a watch maker. So happy with my purchase! This is a forever piece for me. ❤
Then treasure it for as long as you live. The brand is as reputable as their Chopard and Cartier contemporaries IMO. Many don’t know what their missing out on due to market perception or lack of it in some cases.
Just picked up a stainless steel Beluga 38mm that has Cartier looks with blue hands & Roman numerals on a white face and an integrated bracelet that I picked up at a Movado company store. Very pleased with this GADA piece.
Thanks for the information. I've always said that my Ebel Classic Wave feels very similar to a Movado i owned. I never knew they had been bought out by Movado. Still an awesome feel on the wrist!
My dad bought the grey dial model (steel only bracelet and bezel) in the 90s and it was pretty much his only watch that he wore every day until 2-3 years ago when he bought a second watch. I really like the small diameter and thinness of it. Furthermore, the design is really unique. What a pity that the brand is so unknown nowadays. Great video, keep it up!
I own a Ebel 1911 (quartz) with champagne face, stainless steel with 18k gold bezel, crown, screws, and interlinks. I bought it new in 1989 and it’s in excellent condition. I had it serviced a few years ago by Movado factory service and it runs like new. I will never ever sell it. I will pass it down to one of my grandsons.
@@zman8340 I live in the states. I sent it to Movado. If you go on their website they will give you instructions on how to send it. It took about 2 months to get it back, but they did a great job.
I love Ebel and I’m also astounded with how under the radar the brand is, it really has the glamour of the Cartier brand during their heyday. I have the mid size gold and steel sportwave with black dial, diamond markers and gold bezel. It’s a gorgeous piece and one of my favourites, as a jewellery lover it stacks beautifully next to a diamond tennis bracelet and the two tone makes it versatile and fun with my jewellery stories. Thanks for showing a bit of love for EBEL 🎉❤
Ebel watches with the lemania 8815 movement are incredible value for money. It was once the thinnest full-rotor automatic movement in the world and used by brands like Breguet because of its incredible chronometric performance. Can pick up Ebel watches with said movement for as little as 850 euro/900 usd.
Recently I bought a solid gold Classic with the pre 1911 solid gold band, pre wave I suppose. Watch is in new condition. It won't stay that way as I am wearing the hell out of it. Such a classy thing, so subtle. Way nicer than a Day-Date President and probably half the cost. I only paid slightly more than scrap price. They can pry it from my cold, dead wrist.....
I love Ebel and think they can be great again if they go upmarket and fine a few good influencers. They have the Miami Vice tie in and a very good story especially with their inhouse movement journey. What sucks now is that it seems they are simplyfing their designs to cut costs and being very vague about the movements. And about 800 followers to their very sad youtube channel. Thanks for the video!
I have just purchased the Ebel women’s solid gold wave with diamond bezel and diamond numerals. IMO Cartier or Rolex cannot hold a candle to this watch. It is absolutely stunning.
I think Ebel is one of the greatest watch makers of our time. I own 1911 automatic, 1911 chronograph, Sport Classic and Sportwave from 80 and 90s. I also gifted a Sport Classic to my parents. Sadly I stopped paying attention to new Ebel products after it was destroyed by the new owner in 2000s. To this day I wear Ebel daily from the 90s. I'm now eyeing 1080916 - its domed sapphire glass, curbed case and meticulously constructed bracelet really speak to its quality, but it's very hard to find...
I wonder if you can help me get information on a watch I inherited. It is an 18K yellow gold womens Ebel Etype diamond dial and bezel watch with original box & papers. It was purchased in 1999 I believe. Looking for history & value. I cannot find any information. If you can help me or direct me to a possible source of info I would appreciate it. Thank you
Hey! I recently got my hands on an old Lexus IS 200 watch, Made by EBEL Group. 0095/1000. Mint condition I am very novice in the watch world, and this particular watch seems very unknown. Where did you send your old Ebel watches for service? (I also live in Stockholm)
How do you like the brand and model?
Love it. My employer gave it to me for 10 years of service. I paid extra for diamond bezel. It is gorgeous
Stainless mini wave

I love my EBEL. Have had in almost 20 years

Thanks for watching!
I owned the first Moser Streamliner in the USA several years ago and loved the way this style bracelet forms to the wrist.

Is the bracelet integrated?
@jack birtles, no

What was the movement called from the 90’s shortwave models
Wow, this steel+gold variant is amazing!
Insane looking! 🔥
Think I will be looking for one of these in the near future. Great video mate!
Thanks a lot! Bang for the buck 😉
I probably first noticed Ebel in the late 90’s when I had just graduated college and couldn’t afford anything.
Stunning watch that. I’ll have to grab one!
Annnnd purchased.. just the thing to go with my vintage cartier pieces..
Ah! Congrats 🍾 You’ll enjoy it I’m sure!

Cool! It was the shit back then 😉 the brand now is a disaster unfortunately..

I have a couple of Ebels 1911 chrono with El Primero movement on wave bracelet. Love those watches! Like them way more than Daytona.
Great pieces 👏🏼
What do you think of the new 37 automatic SW300 version of this?
Hey! Check out Concord watches! Specifically the curved Mariner 500 SG models from the early 90s! Another VERY overlooked brand
Great tip! And already on the shortlist 😎
@@AleksWatches looking forward to it! Your content is absolutely top notch!
Appreciate it a lot 🙏🏼

I’m also getting more and more into the brand. Very undervalued!
What kind of work are you getting done on the Voyager World Timer?
Just a regular service 🙏🏼

Cool! Testa Bo Berggren :)
What model is this watch?
Did you watch the video? 😉 Ebel Sport Classique
If the watch does not shows date, then it is not a Sports Classic ?
Yes there are no-date versions as well. The larger one 37mm is usually No-date
@@AleksWatches Thanks :)
Ebel annoys me so much with their current catalogue. Oversized pieces with quartz batteries that are way too overpriced
