Olive, IL, at the burial place of Mother Jones. Unfortunately this town doesn't even know or care about what an incredible piece of history it's sitting on, but sometimes I like to visit Mother Jones's grave and play her some Woody tunes.

Very well done, and you were just 14 yrs old! Just knowing who Woody Guthrie was is a testament to your knowledge of the history of the early American folk movement that changed the USA for the better (imho).
@Lddy This film was made when I was 14 years old for a competition called National History Day. I referred to him as Guthrie because that was the correct format for doing it in the competition I created the film for. Please do not criticize the writing of a teenager who simply did not want to lose points for a silly reason.
My Grandfather was Charles L. Todd- he met and befriended Woody at the farm worker encampment he managed. Small world. They remained friends until Woody's death on Roosevelt Island.
Woody, with the likes of Pete Seeger, was there from the beginning, and, as we all know, inspired Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and others, who all acknowledge woody.
It's pronounced o-KEE-ma. And he was an activist, as the other poster already pointed out. Other than those two minor mistakes, it still a very good job.
@kilomeister Seriously? I think Elvis is fun. He's obviously no Woody or Dylan or whoever is in your mind at the moment. But like Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, etc., he was fun. On the side of social importance, he (and the above mentioned, etc) helped bring two legally segregated communities together and forget their differences. Lighten up.

Well considering Socialism was around for a hundred years by the time Woody was born, and considering the Russian Revolution happened when Woody was 5 years old (and the USSR lasted until the 90s), I'm almost positive Woody knew quite well what socialism was. Thanks for playing though.

Ron Paul has been a Libertarian for about 35 years. and I can see Arlo belonging to that party, but I doubt very much that he's a Republican.besides, as long as he doesn't beat people over the head w/ his politics, that's all that matters. Libertarians want all illicit drugs to be legal to use/abuse. like booze has been since 1933.
Stop calling Woody "Guthrie." If you knew anything about him, you would know that he preferred to be called "Woody." Every time I hear "Guthrie" I have negative emotions...
I can't see Mr Guthrie growing up in a home where the various sorts of possible governmental outcomes for the world were freely discussed. Unlike today's shiftless wage-burners, those people had things to do. Finally, there is no need to "thank me for playing" as there are no games afoot. I would turn that around and thank you for making up random things to support your own belief system and then I would invite you to seek a cliff and if you whine I would be glad to push you. that's grammatically correct. Woody would be fine but referring to him as Guthrie is more professional. Nothing to shame or knock there :)
