One of the most favored Disney songs of all time, which many argue to be the best song from Disney's animated picture, Mulan - this piece is the meaning of epic! I have been requested this for years and somehow never got around to it, but I finally took the initiative and recorded a video :). Hope it turned out alright!

He's is a really good piano player, I even went to my mom out of nowhere after watching his videos repeatedly saying, "I wanna learn piano. I wanna learn now."
Everyone saying they want to be super good like Kyle, yes, I agree he is freakishly good, but being good doesn't just mean to play every note, being good also means to make the sheet easier for you. What I mean is (sorry Kyle no hate) Kyle adds a LOT of filler notes when I read the transcribed sheet, and if you can play that, that's great :) but if you're just a regular person, make the piece easier for yourself by removing parts that aren't part of the melody, and you'll still get a great sound from this piece! Remember, being a good pianist is like being a good mathematician, take shortcuts to make it as easy as possible, but still looking/sounding great.
I think Kyle just likes intricate and complex things (judging from how much he dislikes Yiruma or Ludovico Eunadi).
I do agree that he does put way too much notes for a normal player to be able to play or is it just me?
It took me 1/2 a year to complete Kyle's 'Let it Go' with a teacher with 25 minute sessions per week. We had to simplify it by a lot XD
TheSillyimpling You also have to consider that he's not actually composing this stuff, but rather improvising for the most part. So all the stuff he added is unique, if you asked him to play it again it would be different.
So yeah, it's probably best to remove the filler, learn the piece, then add your own filler for your own unique interpretation. It makes for good practice too.
Oh, so fantasie impromptu is a bad piece, cuz seriously, how many people do you know who can play it well enough? Come the hell on. The point of rearranging a song for the piano is exactly to make it technically challenging, and to exploit the piano to its full potential. If you're lazy and don't wanna put in the work to learn a harder piece then don't complain, just enjoy the music. He turns cartoon songs into master pieces, you can do nothing but take your hat off.

You think first about the reasons and if you can libe with that or if you agree and if it... let's say kills and hurts a lot of people and you don't feel well by killing and hurting people, you stop. And if other people tell you to stop doing something because they don't like it but it is perfectly good for you like... dancing even though you can't just keep doing it. You'll learn, they're not forced to watch you and if they are cause they're in a jury or something they've choosen to get in that position so you can ignore them. If they don't like you to dance the way you do because part of your choreography is setting houses on fire, you don't just ignore it, you think about which houses, if it's save, if they don't belong to anybody and what else there could be to prove them right and then you either choose a less destroying choreography, you make sure it doesn't harm anybody or you stop dancing. Except, of course, if you're fine with destroying peoples houses for a choreography, but I'm telling you, you should work on your priorities then. It's up to you if you agree with me on this or not, point is, good sentence, good message, add a "not blindly". It's not liek other people always stop you from something without valid reasons, just makes sense to think about their points before choosing to listen or ignore.

You should take it as a compliment, I too thought u were older when I first started to watch your videos. Because when you play it seems like it's from experience gathered over many decades. I could literally develop this forever. Of course, it is exaggerated; it is rare that people get into actual arguments about who is better. Basically the comments that I am talking about are the ones that emphasize how difficult a piece of music is, and then state how it only took them a short amount of time to learn it. I think this might be a recurring theme with most young pianists, because when I was at Piano Camp at FSU, people were doing this. They were basically bragging to each other about how they learned very difficult pieces of music in short periods of time and such.
I don't really know why I wrote this comment, but meh.
I totally agree. Real musicians don't brag. I can play this piece no sweat. But I don't care what others think. I can play it. Cool. No need to diss the video and tell everyone that I can play this better than Kyle Landry himself or something like that. Heh, you know what I mean?

I dont understand how you can be so good, like sure you have probably played so much longer being most likely 10-20 years older, but... I feel amazingly gifted and special when I play songs like Divenire, All of Me, Nuvole Bianche, etc. But then I see you and.. Ill never be that good. Not in 4 million years.
