Clifford Jordon was definitely one of the great unsung greats of the tenor sax, one of my favorites. His association with Charles mingus is one of his most artistly memorable periods of his career.
Great video. Great quartet. Cedar, Clifford, David and Billy. I love Clifford Jordan. He is fantastic and so under-rated. I saw him in a jazz club in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 1992.
@@seriouslyswingnjazz Sure! I don't remember the title of the first tune, Clifford's original( I used to play it with him) , 2nd - Quasimodo(Charlie Parker), 3. - Third Avenue (Clifford Jordan) 4.- every time 5. - House on Mapple Street (Cedar Walton) I think this is all. Thanks again for a wonderful upload!
Hey vova, it has two names, the usual one is “Eyewitness Blues” which occasionally I’ve seen subtitled “Ditty for a City”. The other title is the name of that city which is a very long name and I can’t remember it for the life of me Edit: I found it, Ouagadougou. I've got a bootleg from Munich in 1987, Clifford, Slide and Philly Joe (don't know the rest of the band) where Clifford introduces it

One of classiest vids I’ve ever seen, brilliant group 👏
Notice The Higgins using a larger Hihat bottom cymbal to give a better sound!!I played with them at Billy’s house…His cymbals were extraordinary!
