Susan, you have progressed from a beautiful young woman to a beautiful talented mature woman. You are a credit to all womanhood. If any man or a woman could do half of the tasks you can do they would be considered reasonably talented but you far exceed them. Mostly doing all the tasks I imagine without complaint. You are by far my favourite lady sailor Thanks for this great video. Now we need another video just to see if Jules is really needed on the boat at all apart from serenading you with his guitar. (joking) :-)Best wishes, fair winds and regards from the UK
Susan, you have definitely become an extremely dependable sailor. You are every male sailors dream. I am a metal machinist and overall technically skilled, but just learning to MIG weld aluminium as I build my pilothouse. Your technical and overall skills are a huge benefit onboard. Julius is a lucky man to have a real woman like you, who is especially easy on the eyes. Travel safely.
Getting out of a warm bunk to stand watch on a cold night and still keep a positive attitude and in your case a beautiful smile , jumping overboard to clear the prop , Suzie you really got it going . You two are a remarkable team ...thanks for sharing .
Among the world of capable women, none can compare to you, Susan. Bravo to a life well-lived. May you and Jules have many decades more of the life you have chosen.
I've been following you two for a very long time. You're both an inspiration in sailing and in life, especially as the West is sliding into what joule escaped from all those years ago. God bless you both. Chris down under nz.
Gary C. said it perfectly and I totally agree. What an amazing young girl to even think of taking on such a journey, and to stick with it and grow to the beautiful woman you are today. Truly inspiring. Fair winds to you both. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
Susan, My family and I owned a Boatyard /Marina for 47 years. Watching your videos brings back a lot of memories. You are a woman of many talents. Not only are you talented but you are beautiful ! I would have given my right arm for an employee of with you grace, talent, beauty and experience. Keep the videos coming.
Hi Susie, this video just reaffirmed what I quickly realized when I started watching the two of you on UA-cam. You are a beautiful woman, then and now but what makes you so incredibly attractive is that you are strong, smart, capable and practically fearless. Not to mention completely devoted to Jules, who I simply have to say, is one lucky lucky man. My best to you both
What an amazing, honest testimony of your transformation from young woman to where you are now. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us who follow you and Jules. You’re an amazing woman Susan!
What an inspiring time of self -reflection! A life well lived. The deep satisfaction of a fulfilling life journey so evident in your tone of voice and expression. Jules truly is a blessed man!
Susan is one in a million and I hope she will inspire more women to be like her! Jules must be the luckiest man in the world! I wish you fair winds for decades to come! :-)
What a team! Incredible you have been together so long working together and in such close quarters in quite cramped conditions still smiling What an epic story
What an amazing woman you are! So humble and so giving, you remind me of my wife. Although my wife is mostly an indoor girl I can sense that you have the same loving spirit as her. I found your channel by mention from watching another sailing channel. I love to sail. It is one of the two most favorite things I like to do amongst a lot of hobbies. The other one being playing music with other musicians. I am a drummer. I am close to 60 years old and learned both things when I was a child. I took up both things again in the last several years after decades of doing neither. I started sailing again during the lock down of COVID when a life long friend dropped off the hull and centerboard of a Butterfly sailboat at our cottage. He said "here's a project boat for you." The hull had been stored in his dad's barn for about 40 years and under the threat of it being burned unless he removed it by his sister who took possession of the farm, he took it out and put it at the end of his dad's driveway with a "Free" sign on it. His dad, whose health was failing, lived on a large lake. After three weeks nobody took the hull so he dropped it off at our place. I was delighted! Within two weeks I'd acquired most of the parts for the boat with the help of the internet. The ride back home to Wisconsin from Michigan where I acquired the boom, sail, rudder/tiller and mast was absolutely euphoric! A couple of weeks later in late August I finally obtained the final part, the mast head and was ready to sail! I sailed her well into October that year and remember almost freezing my toes off! I had my final sail of the season with her last weekend. I named her "Muy Chido" I look forward to next season to get back on her! There is something magical and heartwarming about sailing that draws me to it! I've greatly enjoyed watching your videos since finding your channel today! I hope there is a video about the construction of your boat! I really enjoy watching videos of constructing, fixing and remodeling sailboats. Thank you and God Bless you both!
Suzie you are the example for all women to follow! I agree with Jules, there's absolutely no reason for women to doubt themselves and on no account ever let any man tell them so! And BTW who are men to talk, just look at the mess we make of running the world! I say let the women take over! I'm married to a very capable woman who has always been the breadwinner in our household because of my poor health so for many years it was my responsibility to run the household and look after our two young people growing up. I think it makes better sense to talk about people and their talents more than gender. Happy sailing and continue enjoying your life!
This was a very nice depiction of what a complete woman looks like. A true "partner" in the adventure. This was great! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Well there you go jules , it looks like you were lucky enough to win the lottery of life and have a perfect partner I saw that the first time i watched your videos and i am sure that it was noticed by a whole heap of others Respect to you both and i hope you both have a long life of it
There's so many sailing blogs out there now, but yours was the first I came across a few years ago. I could tell it looked like late 80's or early 90's when you started. I remember thinking what a beautiful goddess and one lucky sailor who gets to sail the world with her! All the new sailing blogs are great but you guys were the first, real trend setters! Fair winds and following seas.
I must say what a beautiful and amazing woman you are! A great example of a strong versatile roll model for young sailors out here..male or female! Jules is a very lucky man to have found you! Most of us sailors out here would love having a sailing mate like you. Keep up the amazing life!
Great to see another couple doing maintenance just like Sue and I do on our gaff cutter. Going up the mast, we always attach a safety line in addition to the halliard being used to get us up there.
Suzie is one of those rare women that most confident men would want to share their lives with. She is still sticking around after all these years because she feels loved by a true man that tells and shows his love for her....often. They have become an excellent team!! Jules is also a very lucky duck to have found her.....
Susan thanks for sharing your story, you are an inspiration especially how you faced down your fears. You are a living embodiment of Proverbs 31. Jules you are one lucky guy!
I don't know what I can add to all the other comments. It's pretty unanimous that Susan is an amazing woman and a wonderful life/sailing partner. A true inspiration to men and women alike. It's obvious that Jules and Susan have mutual love and respect for each other. Beautiful to see. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Always known how special you are . The minute Jules talked you into doing the welding and oddly you agreed... then to top it off you continued even after the sweltering heat and splatter burns. Wow !!! been there done that I knew this girl knows how to ROCK!!!!!!!! Every real mans dream Thanks for the video cheers Fairwinds from @captains.chair
I completely agree with Gary C's comment - a very enthusiastic, adventurous and now very accomplished woman. A great partner your husband found! Very interest video.
Ageing like a very fine wine Suzie! First class first mate no wonder that Jules press ganged you and keeps you away at sea, safe from hungry land sharks! The best sailing story of all bar none!
A great episode I love the early outdoor footage. Suzie , so smart , hard working, good hearted, chilled and capable.... a very rare combination in a woman so beautiful Jules you are such a well deserving and lucky guy ! .....congrats Suzie on a life well lived ! Onward and upward !
Amazing... and inspirational. I get a kick out of Jules recording you doing all these tough chores... he's laying on that charm the whole time :-) All your videos have this spiritually uplifting effect - great respect for you both.
Just found the channel. Such a good looking boat. I grew up on farm and learned to weld with an old buzz box/stick welder. That’s a lot of learning and hard work to weld that much area, watertight. Know zero about sailing but looks centering to be underway, irregardless of weather or wave conditions. Good luck from Kansas USA!
Your not just a sailor one can depend on, you are a woman everyone can depend on, much respect, you are awesome, and so is the captain, thank you for such a nice video, i enjoyed watching :)
Susan is like a fine bottle of rear wine, she has only gotten better with time and when it comes to looks, she was a nice looking young girl, but now Susan is a beautiful woman! May God continue to bless both of you, as you sail around the world and beyond! ✨😍😁
Clearly the thumbs down have never seen the vids about her welding! Yes indeed, a great partnership and awsome example of a real love for anothers ambitions. Great channel and even better story.
In the kindest possible way you both deserve each other! I consider myself very lucky that my girlfriend has a similar outlook to life that you do. You may not realise how much you inspire others, thank you both, I wish you all the very best for the future.
Hope you've added a 'Net Cutter' to your prop, really useful in rough weather. Sailing afar is a unique experience, for days at a time you live in a mini world of your own, circumscribed by your hull, then you make landfall and a whole new world opens up to you. We never went further than the BVI and the inland waterway, but the joy of sailing is the same for everyone... Smooth seas and following winds...
What a great summary of your life over the years Susan, and what a wonderful sailing mate you make to your man. You two are a true inspiration to so many of us, and for so many reasons. May your wonderful journey continue as you wish it to unfold. Thank you for sharing your life with us all, we are the richer for it 🙏🏼 😊 PS: I also didn't realize that you two built your boat from scratch! Wow, I better go back and start watching your videos from the beginning. ☺️

Thank you, Gary! Your comments are always so sweet. Next vid.....what does Jules do?? Thanks for the suggestion:))
Hi, although I thoroughly concur with the comment, i think this appre nation was meant for Mr. Gary C.
Odysseus has nothing on her! :-)
When God made Susan he threw away the mould. Perfection. What a woman and a lady. Lucky man. Bless you both always. Thanks for sharing.
Oooooh Suzie Q...😊
It's great seeing two people actually doing what 99% of us out here only dream of. Thanks for your videos and inspiring us.
Susan, you have definitely become an extremely dependable sailor.

Sailing has kept you in great shape over the years. Jules found an absolute gem.
Lucky to have a man like that. A joint effort. The woman makes the man the man makes the woman. A very beautiful story, I loved it!!

What a wonderful story and life. Stay well & happy.
Great video! What an accomplished woman!
(I loved the statement, "Jules doesn't deal very well with authorities." hahahaha!)
That authority thingy wasn't very difficult to figure out, was it? 😂
What A completely lovely couple !
fantastic Suzie, you should be proud of yourself and an example to the ladies out there. I hope one day my daughter can follow like you !!
Thanks, Simon.....very nice of you to say:))
What a great summary of your life over the years Susan, and what a wonderful sailing mate you make to your man. You two are a true inspiration to so many of us, and for so many reasons. May your wonderful journey continue as you wish it to unfold. Thank you for sharing your life with us all, we are the richer for it 🙏🏼 😊
