Definitely Flourished Peony. The storyline is fantastic and the actors are killing it! I watched Moonlight Mystique through episode three and thought it lacked a good storyline. I like Bai Lu and her outfits are very pretty - just wasn't my cup of tea.

Bailuuu nailed her character but not to compare but I prefer moonlight mystique because is another level of fantasy drama but flourished peony is normal as usual abuse female and suffering for her

I think you're wrong in your comparison. Both are different genres. Also, if you want to get on Bailu and her demon lords, then we can talk about Yangzi and her "flower" themes in every historical drama. Both are good and we are enjoying it. However, some of us like Moolight better for the fact that it gets more interesting as the fantasy story unfolds, as to Peony is more of a relatable story at the start and is good because of that reason. But it's now getting boring, and the story is dragging a bit.

The undisputed winner is Bai Lu! I'm sorry but Yang Zi is not her equal in terms of classic Chinese dramas. If they were competing in a sitcom, Yang Zi would probably win, but this is a genre that requires a lot of variability in acting, not just comedic skills. Bai Lu wins because she is more variable in her acting (she can really play from comedy like in Arsenal Military Academy to the most cruel dramatic scene like she did in One and Only) and she is simply more beautiful in the classical sense of the word and this weighs a lot in such costume dramas! In order for the viewer to feel like they are in the story in costume dramas, the actress needs to have this "halo" of the classic Chinese beauty - she must resemble the paintings from the past! Bai Lu has exactly this aura and that is why costume dramas are best. Yang Zi is better in modern dramas because there the viewer is not interested in the classic features in appearance and can actually sympathize with the actress because she is funny, kind and charming (this is Yang Zi in reality). Bai Lu can play a villain, a man, a gentle girl, a stubborn and fighting woman who chooses her own destiny, an annoying journalist, an elegant lady … Bai Lu is simply best suited for Chinese dramas because they require a huge variety in acting. In the West there is “specialization” - actors focus on one genre and play mainly in it because they are the best there. In China this is impossible! Either you are very versatile and can play in every project, or you will have unsuccessful projects in roles that are not suitable for you - this is exactly the case with Yang Zi!
For me I love them both but because of the plot, I love flourished peony best as I love female being discriminate first but arise later with a heroic act. Love it. The script overshadow moonlight mystique.

I am thinking you did not watch it and it's called Flourished Peony. Yang Zi is amazing in the series as are Miles Wei and Li Xian. It's #1 in China right now followed by Moonlight Mystique.
We've dropped a video before that threw shade at Yang Zi's look in this drama, and there are loads of vids on this channel calling her out. So, get it straight, this ain't no fan channel... Everything here is based on social media data from China!! ..
@dailynet-cn im not saying you are a fan of Yang Zi. When you use that title, you should give facts of the drama then let the viewers decide. Not your opinion of who did it better. Obviously, starting from the genre itself, both dramas are not the same hence the script and characters are also not going to be expressing the same kind of angst that the script offers. thats not to say that one actress did it better than the other. Both of them performed well suitedly for their role.
