- I definitely needed some ibuprofen after this but what a wonderful change!
A few months later I separated these beds per Charlie’s request and here’s the link to that video.

I just stumbled upon your video and it was a godsend! My sons will be sharing a bed and we didnt want to spend money on a whole new bed so this was the perfect thing for us!
Good job on your children. They all seem so sweet! ☺️☺️☺️
Amberger Helper thanks so much! They are good kids and I’m super blessed ❤️
I just love that your son came in to chat. 😊 My son does the same and I love it
He’s a sweetheart. I’m one lucky mama! Sounds like you are too😊
yas that’s right
Came for the bunk beck hack, but am in love with your shoe storage bins!!
Hello sweet friend! I was scrolling through videos and found this. I think this is the first one I watch of you. Hard to believe it's been 10 months. Thank you for being the sweet person you are. Look how long your hair is. I so enjoy you and your videos. 😘♥️
Oh wow! I always figured you found me through one of my haircut videos. That’s awesome! You were my first UA-cam friend I believe 🥰
Nice video. Love your sense of humor
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!😁
I wish that I could give this video all the likes it deserves! Thank you for this.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I’m always nervous to read comments but you just made my day!❤️
Well done. That is one of the most informative and useful vids on how to put two kuras together.
Thank you so much Fionnuala! I'm so glad it was helpful!😊
@@thestacystory166 I second this comment. You're probably the only person on UA-cam that actually flipped the bed ON CAMERA. Thanks.
Looks so much brighter and bigger!
Maybe dusty because the air return vent was behind the bed?We had ours blocked and the duct cleaning guys told us to not do that... oops.
@@shannonbolger6660 thanks so much and yes! I hate that the return is there. I wish it was somewhere else, like on the ceiling.😊🤣😁
That was very helpful. Thank you!
Awesome, glad it helped! Thank you so much for your positive comment! 😊😁
Did you have to pop the white things out on the slats and turn them?
Hi, how did you managed to cut the loft portion off ? You did it with the bed assembled, or you just marked the cutting line and then cutted the wood with the bed disassembled ? Thanks a lot for sharing this !
Great job! Trying to decide if I want to go with the the kura or mydal for my family.
J. Garvin thanks so much! We’ve had both and both are great for kids!
Dear Madame could you kindly tell me where you bought the „normal bed“ on the right side?
Or did you build it yourself?
Thanks for reply.
Btw great idea 👍
Both beds are kura loft beds. We had just previously cut off the loft portion of one of them leaving just a bed base. That’s why they stack perfectly. Thanks so much for the comment!😊
So you had 2 kura beds and use one just as a base and the other one complete? Or what did you use for the base for the final result?
Yes, that’s exactly right! I’d had these two kura beds for a while and decided to cut the “loft” portion off of one to make them into bunk beds. I did not buy them with doing this in mind but after a few years and a third child I needed a new solution. 🔨
May I know what the name of the lower bed that you use? Also what the name of the matress? Since IKEA have a several mattress. Thanks in advance 🙂
The lower bed was also a Kura bed. We had previously cut the loft portion off with a sawzall. The two mattresses are not from IKEA and I’m not sure where they are from as they were given to me by family. Hope this was helpful😬
Hi! Great video. Totally help me to make up my mind about buying Ikea Kura bed. Which mattress do you use? How many inches or brand if you don't mind sharing. Thanks a lot
They are hand me downs and one was a spring mattress about 5 inches and the other was a foam mattress about 3 inches.
where is the bottom bed from ? and if its from ikea what is the name its under i cant seem to find it
The bottom bed is a Kura loft bed as well. My husband just cut the "loft" part off with a saw. We bought them instead of toddler beds and it was a good choice. They have lasted 6 years and still going strong, much longer than toddler beds would have lasted.
Can u please tell me where did u buy the single bed which u attached to the Kura bed
It’s another Kura bed that my husband cut the loft part off.
Hi can you give me the info on the clothing rack?? Thank you ❤
Hi, thanks for the video, i bouth the kura bed and image question it's normal move when my girl goes upstairs thnal you
If I understand your question correctly you're asking if the bed moves when a child climbs up it? It does depending on the size/weight of the kid. I hope this helps!
This is great!! I wonder if you turned around the bottom bed, so that the cut-out was facing the front, whether one could squeeze a little under-bed storage out of there?
That's a great idea!!
Great idea! Those mattresses look way more comfortable than the ones ikea suggest for this bed. Did you also get them from ikea? What is the depth measurement please? X
No they were actually hand me downs from family. One is 3 inch and one is 4 inches.😁
@@thestacystory166 thank you so much for replying. I ended buying the bed so I hope my little girl likes it 🤗
@@treezah1074 oh I’m sure your little girl will LOVE it!😁
did you buy two identical bunk beds or is this extra bed just an ordinary bed?
Pammella Wiik we bought two identical loft beds. The Kura loft bed from ikea. We had previously cut the ‘posters’ off of one of them so we could assemble them as bunk beds.
How sturdy and safe is this compared to a regular bunk bed?
I would say just like the Kura loft bed by itself. It's not made for adults but great for kids under about 100 pounds.
Do you think a 13 year old girl can have the kura bed?
Absolutely! As long as she is less than the height/weight maximums. I think it’s 220 lbs.
Do you still revenge that kids rooms around do you still have that bed
Yes! I do and I do!
@@thestacystory166 nice I hope you and your family had a wonderful happy Thanksgiving it's given is the bunk bed still a bunk bed or did you take the bed apart
What is your opinion about the plastic mattress covers
@@joehebert8070 our mattresses are hand me downs from cousins and one had a cover on it so we just left it on there. Especially because when we got them we were still potty training. I do cover it with another soft mattress topper so it doesn’t feel like a sheet over plastic.😁
@@joehebert8070 we took it apart and put it back together a few times😬 It is currently a bunk bed again. I have more videos of their room configurations if want to see them all.
Would you recommend a bunk bed are boys 5 and far my wife is thinking of getting the kids bunk beds
The American Academy of pediatrics recommends children under the age of 6 not sleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed. If your oldest is 5 then you’re almost there!
What kind of mattress pads would you recommend for twin beds
to make this need to buy 2 kura beds correct?
I made it with 2 Kura beds, that is correct.👍🏻
Do you still have the plastic bed covers on the mattresses
One has a mattress cover on it, yes.👍🏻
Are they plastic bag covers or are you going to get another one
My wife wants to know where you bought the plastic bed covers
you please tell me if you buy bed base saprettly or was it in box
The base is another kura loft bed that we had cut off the loft bars. We had 2 kura beds and only one of them we had altered. I hope that makes sense 😁
What did you do with the other loft portion?
I can't remember exactly, it's been so long. It was just a few wooden bars so I'm guessing we used them for another project.
I love this! Did you buy the mattress at ikea also?😊
Elena Lopez thank you so much! I did not get either mattress at ikea they were both hand me downs from cousins.
Is that a a waterproof mattress pad on the bed
Yes it is! Good eye! I put waterproof mattress pads on all our beds.
Do you have Facebook and my wife text you on Facebook
Do you prefer plastic or cloth for mattress pads
@@joehebert8070 the best way to contact me is email at Kentuckywithachanceofdisney@gmail.com
@@joehebert8070 I think they are made of both but really any mattress pad that says waterproof on it. I am always looking for a more fabric look though so it won’t “squeak”😊
How big are your mattresses
twin size and 5 and 6 inces deep I believe.
Good job👍. Wr u r from
Kentucky!
Is this just the kura loft bed
Alexandra Diehl it is two Kura loft beds but one of them has been altered by cutting off the posts leaving just the mattress box. The other is still fully intact. I hope that makes sense 😬
What size mattress did you use?
They are both twin size mattresses.
Thank you how thick is the mattress
One was a spring mattress that’s about 6 inches thick. The other was a foam mattress that’s about 4 inches thick. Both were hand me downs from cousins 😬
Thank you so much I just wanted to make sure I got the right size for my daughter bunk bed 🥰
Emma Basic I totally understand! Any depth twin size mattress should be fine.👍🏻
