I love interacting with you guys and getting everybody feedback!!! I really wanted to address some stuff that we left out in the original video. The rear brake situation, hood supports and wastegate!!! It’s hard to respond to everybody’s comments so I figured this would be the easiest way!! Again thanks for everybody’s support!! Hoping to do some cool 1 off builds in the future!!
Don’t worry bout the negative people brother, I’m my professional opinion, I think yall did a badass job and can’t wait to see what else u have in store for this bad boy on the channel
what if you build your body and recomp the new fat into muscle
I'm a Chevy guy all the way. And my opinion is that this is a bad ass truck. A little work and you'll have it exactly how you want it. Great content! Keep up the good work guys!
It turned out great, I would 100% drive it everyday and be proud of it. I mentioned on first video about the dmax swap, Either way it’s a built square body, me and most people on here watching would rock that thang wirh old school 350, let alone a damn 12v swap lol keep it up man love watching your channel and Cletus 💪🤜😎
Love the truck man!! Looks amazing the way sits! I hate the stink bug (rake) look. What kind of clear coat is that?
Love that you stated "It's your build." Some people always have a negative input because they don't put in the work. Awesome Build my man!
I agree with you man. Some people need to just f#ck off
I'd have to say this truck is an absolute dream style build for a lot of people. Everything about this truck is just phenomenal. 👍👍👍. Keep doing what makes you happy bud. Awesome truck awesome build.
For all those asking why he'd done things a certain way and not the way you'd do it it's beacuse it's his truck and not yours, he built it for him to drive and use and not you.
I remember back when ppl had enough sense to know that already but well said
Some people are genuinely curious and perhaps don't know, I respect those questions. People who comment stuff like, "well I would have done it this way, or that way" piss me off.
Preach it homie
Yeah so ha ha ha
🤙
It’s really cool of you to address the comments 💪. The truck is sharp as hell. But like you said it’s your build and we love it.
As a genuine Florida man.... We're proud to have you man. Love the content ,keep it up.
One of my favorite builds on UA-cam. Changed the entire way I want to do the crewcabs next version and the want for a cummins is even worse now!!!
This truck is absolutely beautiful. JH should 100% do builds like this in detail. It could be like the old school 4x4 build tv shows 10 or 20 years ago, but a lot of people don't have anywhere to see that stuff anymore. Also, fyi I had really mixed results with LMC parts for my GMT400 build. A lot of the parts seem like they just aren't well built or engineered. Wish someone had better parts but was as easy to deal with as LMC.
Like my dad always said. You don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. But it’s cool that are willing to explain. After all, even your worst critics are still watching your channel weather they like your project or not. Awesome truck guys. I love it and what ever you decide to do with it I’ll be here to support you.
People need to understand it's his truck he can do what ever with it. I think it is perfect, good job guys.
This is coming from a Ford guy...... This build is the perfect marriage. The Chevy square body had the ultimate look of that era of truck. The old Dodge/Cummins was the best diesel drivetrain ever. Me personally....I cannot hate on it. Well done. I wish it was mine.
It’s been pretty awesome watching this channel evolve. 2024 is Jh’s year I can’t wait!
LMC was my go to in the 80's , the best quality and largest inventory with a wide range of options at a reasonable price. 👌😁👍
Let's go respect to you and justin JH one hell of a team watching from the uk keep at it your killing it
You need to get with Dr. Tune 'Em All and Sand Drag this thing with his burnout truck he's been playing with in his yard.
Bad ass build, I love it.
Man, that's a sick truck, great color, tastefully done...EVERY truck needs some tinkering done..F**k the haters and trolls!!!
Truck turned out great. It looks really cool. I get so tired of hearing people saying dodge transmissions are junk. Ive built and broke Chevy, Ford and Dodge. If you beat on things they break that’s just how it goes. Love your channel really fun to watch
Looks great, we did a build 16yrs ago and 12 valve a k5,bigger axles, big lift, has ran at silver lake dunes ever since and we love it, enjoy yours they r awesome 👌 👏
JH you know as well as everyone does people are going to question your judgment. But I myself think that this is a Perfect JH one off rig. This is a JH original and if you are happy with it then that is alright. Can't wait to see the next JH and Justin project.
Freaking love the truck the way it is! It is your truck no one elses to hell with what others think.
What a rig. Keep rocking it out JH & Justin. Looking forward to what’s next
Love square bodies and the build, especially the diesel aspect! The transition has been fun to watch. 👍
Using GM solenoids and the valve body is a game changer for dodge 47re with a built single disk . It’s AWESOME!!! Highly recommend to anyone to install 👍🏻. I call it the 47 re Alison . Best mod ever 👍🏻
From 2 things that were all but scrap to this truck is a fantastic effort ,didnt even notice the back slightly lower and like you say its a project , are they ever rely done finished ??? great work Justin & not forgetting Justin
I bought a 79 k10 when I was 14. I prolly put 500 miles on it my whole life but it’s been in storage for about 19 years. I thought about 12 years ago to body swap it onto a 12v but didn’t have resources or anything to make it happen. Now that this is out it’ll be my template to make my dreams come true. So fricken cool. Can’t wait to see more on it and have my own someday as well.
I know I was one of those talking about the shifter thanks for explaining about it now I know why you did that like you said "IT'S" your build and I really like it can't wait to see the other projects get done
Hey @jhdiesel I worked at a spring shop for years. If you bring your rear leaf spring to a local spring shop they can re-arch your current springs to get the exact lift you need. Just figured I would tell you that.
I have known Lavon Miller at fire punk and Johnny Gilbert at stainless diesel. You are runny the right mods man. I love your build.
I’d leave the stance the way it is, put some ladder bars. Reminds me of the trucks we use to build in the 90’s. Love the build and haters gonna hate
Love your truck no complaints many people don’t grasp all that is required for a build of this nature
LOVE! THE TRUCK AND FMVB. definitely under appreciated. I love daily driving a fmvb. Best of both worlds.
I live in Maine and we have a 1985 tow truck that we restored at least three times now because of the rust up here sucks but it's something that we want to keep in the family for a while we've had it for about 25 years is the Chevy
Truck is Mint.. im a BIG fan... would Dailey the heck out of it!! 😮
Great job on the build and doing it the way you wanted it to be as a keeper and not a giveaway, your channel has come a long way. Cheers from Idaho
Love it Justin, I’m not a dodge guy but I have no problems with this build. It’s a work in progress but has came a long ways
i think it looks just fine.. real ones know your channel and what you support and what you don't.
Shackleflip. Getting rid of blocks was the best thing I ever did on my squarebody
Re arch the leaf springs to get the extra inch. Or just leave it how you want it. Don't worry about haters. Truck came out beautiful! Absolutely Love the clear coat on top of original paint!
Thank you for what you do and letting us be apart of it. 👍
I'm just glad that big ass dent in the pass door got fixed. That was the only thing on the truck that bothered me. Love it brotha.
I’ve got a 85 c10 project I’m doing, for the “center console” I used an oil pan obviously it’s not really handy for storage but it worked perfectly to mount my shifter.
So happy you aren't giving it away. That pickup is sick AF. Boggers won't last. It would be cool to compare it and it's cost vs a new pickup and a head to head.
I love it man! You guys did an awesome job. At the end of the day it's your build and what other people have to say don't matter. What makes you happy isn't going to make everyone else happy. Great job guys! Absolutely love it!
I love the way it looks the only time I hate squatted trucks is when the front end is touching the moon and the ass end is still down on Earth.
Definitely interested in seeing the cab mounts
The truck looks great. I like the idea its on a modern chasis and you didn't cut up the firewall to install the engine. Hopefully you can use the factory climate controls for the vintage air.
I absolutely love the look of this truck, and did a very similar build on my 62 Willys but using a gas engine. I would 100% use a Dodge chassis again, it worked out great, great job you guys
For all the why's, I guess the best response could be why not? Shoot I'm not a chevy guy but I do enjoy the look of the truck...I think you guys did a great job.
I ain't got no issues with this, she is gorgeous in my eyes and completely understand the reason you don't want to get rid of it.
JH and Justin, y'all rock! Love the build. Don't listen to the haters. Peace
I'd leave it just like it is! It looks good fix the breaks and enjoy it!
People gonna hate because it’s not theirs simple as that🤣 the truck is sick dude y’all nailed it🤘🏼
man its your fuckin project, your build , i love how you built it i wouldnt change anything .
The pump tuning sounds interesting. Always something to dial in for the better!
You could do a rear shackle flip kit to gain some height and even reduce your lift block size I think off road development (ORD) makes them if I recall correctly love the truck!
Badass build man can’t wait to see what the future holds for it. Your videos are what I look forward to watching every day even if I rewatch something.
Awesome truck! One thing is please put the air filter away from the turbo.
It amazes me how a person who owns his own truck and wants to build it his way has people complaining on how its built. It's his truck, and he can do whatever he wants. Good job Justin keep up the good work.
shackle flip the rear thatll gain 4 inches then 2 inch blocks and tint the windows, great build ya got, just my 2 cents.
That stance it has was actually really popular in this trucks era, it’s called the “shotgun”, just a tad lower in the back and it actually looks pretty damn good.
Nothing compared to a Carolina squat
awesome build man was at Freedom factory in february and was in Staging behind cleetus yelling justin trying to get your attention
It’s a sick build I would definitely do a spring lift versus block lift, I’ve had friends with huge block lifts and ran into huge problems with axle twist
As far as AFC tweaks, I love Power Driven’s AFC Live. The adjustability is just awesome and quick, from the cab. I’m sure you are probably aware of it, but if not, check it out.
just got a 406 SBC back together the new mellings pump galled the shaft in the pump first 8 miles. Milodon for the win after new rods and mains running great now
I think it's badass man I'd daily the heck out of it I have several square bodies... Now , time for an old Ford body on a chevy duramax truck lol just to piss off the internet....Thanks for sharing
Dude yal knocked it out of the park, I wouldn't change nothing.
leave it alone let the haters hate , you work with what you got gm/mopar good fit for me
You guys ROCK! Screw the hater’s. 😂
I love how a Square Body Chevy looks on Super Swamper Bogger tires.
Truck turned out awesome. Love those square bodies. The Dodge part is questionable but I understand your thinking. LoL
Something I recommend since you put those braces in on your hood, which I understand guys did that but GM set that up to where if you had a head-on collision, your hood would buckle instead of coming through the windshield. I would recommend when your hood is fully open, tether it with the, something like steel cable I know chances of that happening for you is slim to none but just let other guys know that’s why Chevrolet did that with their hood if you keep Hinges well oiled that goes along way to keeping your hood from buckling anyhow, this is six in a row Jim from Kennerdell PA I just had 5.9 Rebuild a DNJ in Cambridge, Ohio anyway I have a 91.5 Dodge had for over 24 years now actually I bought it 1998
My dream truck is a 86 crew cab dully camper special with a Cummins swap! Also Power driven diesel has a afc live so you can tune your fuel on the fly more or less no smoke during daily driving and all the fuel when racing and I mean all the fuel lol beautiful truck! My vote is lift springs no blocks just avoid that failure while you can.
Regardless of what people say and think. That truck is 100% awesome!!!!! And you did it they way you wanted. I too would have done a few things differently. But it's NOT my truck. And again it's an awesome build and original. Great job.
I appreciate that is that your addressing the negative comments that shows integrity however if I'm being honest when you unveiled that truck I thought it was f****** sick and never once did I say oh the f****** rear is down an inch or something. I dig the clear coat patina and everything else you've done to it and I can't wait to see what the f*** are you going to do next. Any of these folks that are second-guessing would be proud to have that vehicle
You could re position the rear leaf spring shackle mount on the frame 1/2_1in would keep from using more blocks and stuff
Love it JH, didn't even know about all the comments but nonetheless we love to see the builds and the team it takes to put it together.
Much love to you and the team, hope to get to run into you again at the freedom factory next year!
I'm pumped to see where they are going with Ron.
Definitely add some window tint brother, my single cab has 5% all around and 40% on the shield
The new truck is wicked. I like the screamer pipe out the bonnet, maybe if it protruded a little more it wouldn't look like an exhaust leak. Love it man. Must feel awesome finishing it, well done
For those who dont know. Chevy square body trucks have always had a small difference in height. The rear is about 1inch lower then the front. Thats why the aftermarket has leveling kits. Chevy from the factory factors in weight transfer for traction.
It's a awesome truck ...! Love the way it's turning out .
That little squat is much. We call that a little rake👍 makes it look like an off road race truck👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah that's the new melling oil pump they make a Billet with no pickup. Dude for a quick project I think you made a killer ride and personally I like the stance on it I think it makes it look pretty sweet definitely no Carolina squat deal
Man I love this thing I do think it will look better leveled out but other than that no quarrels from me love it from them boggers to the Cummins in a bow tie body .
I didn’t notice any of those thing in the video, but guess I was to busy looking at the bigger picture of what you’d done, I love the truck, I loved watching the build videos, awesome job you 2 👍
I had a 1979 Cheyene on 38.5 gumbo mudders and a 350. Very similar in appearance to the 78 except the color. Mine was a primar gray mixed with a little light blue to stretch coverage. The guy before me painted it. I never wanted it pretty so I could play with it some.
Great job on the build guys ! Look forward to seeing it around town
That truck is perfect!!! Love watching your videos cant wait for the 6.0 to be back!!!
Badasss build! Put the 6.2 army truck on a cummins frame and get that back out there
6in lift springs, traction bars, AFC live, and long arms on the front. Will be one hell of a ripper. 👌
Love this truck! You built it the way you wanted it and thank you for sharing. That is not a squatted truck, it’s more on the lines of old school bulldog look. Awesome truck and love the build!
I think it honestly looks great with the current setup in suspension, a squat would be at least 3-4 ink difference between the front and rear. It has a very slight lean and looks clean as can be
Definitely like it and I would do a hood stack too because It’s fun and you’re halfway there anyway plus you can swap the exhaust now and then to make it a nice driver that’s what we do with our trucks anyway but all n all sweet build 👍
Put this big block in the drag truck. it might even last longer. I think the waste gate out the hood is cool. If your state allows it i think its awesome. Florida has less rules so they probably would let you register it like this.
I think it’s perfect! You built a fine ass truck out of what you had in the yard.
But! If you build another, I’d like to see old body on modern Chevy chassis with duramax!
Might find a 1 inch rear leaf spring shackle . That taller to push the rear up a little. Or make one . .
I think the build is awesome. Took 2 useless vehicles and made something awesome out of it. Not a big fan of the hood wastegate but it's fine. I say lower the front 1" to level it. Don't blame you for wanting to go bigger than 5" blocks
See if you can find some 6” recurve (Rebuild) strings for the truck. It’s what I had on my 78 Blazer front and rear. Should be able to find some for the Dodge rear frame.
Leave the stance the way it is looks great! Like you said it’s your build do your thing brother don’t listen to other people.
This build is bad ass!!
Nice job J & J!
